   𝓓id he really just ask that? The Lieutenant asked herself. There wasn’t a chance that this guys was going to get a hold of her sword, let alone use it in combat. Taylor looked back over her shoulder for a quick second. “No thanks.” Her voice remained serious as she turned back to wield her sword in the direction of their target. She had faced creatures on her own before, being the lone ranger of wild force for months before another ranger came along. But now the creatures were more powerful, unfortunately meaning they needed more rangers to help. In retrospect, it wasn’t all bad. It did get the job done faster.       “– Just focus on where you’re shooting.”

Carter was quick to stop being hit, hand grabbing the bad’s hand and ducking, swift kick leaving the other on the ground. “You are not one for team work, aren’t you?” The Red Lightspeed ranger said, though he is mostly amused by the attitude, crossing arms to blast one of the guys, leaving them unconscious on the ground. Org? Demons? Who knows at this point what they were. 

He had missed kicking ass so much at this point. “You sound like a red ranger.” He means it as a compliment, finishing off the last group of henchmen using his V-Lancer.

“Wait, Dr. Thomas Oliver? As in the paleontologist? He works the with Power Rangers?” Lydia was kind of floored to be perfectly honest. Never had she imagined that someone she’d admired would work with the Power Rangers. Huh, you learn something new every day. “That does sound like a good day,” she replied with a grin. “I’m taking a break from school work. Finals are kicking my ass but once I get my masters’ degree it’ll be worth it.”

“Oh damn.” Did he just accidentally revealed Tommy to Lydia? His fault really. He was used to people know WHO the lightspeed team were outside of the helmets. “Yes he works with the Rangers. For a long time now. But keep this a secret. Or he might blaster me in the face.” Carter speaks, ease smile now on his lips because he is sure Tommy doesn’t mind, since now days he had stopped his Ranger activity almost all together to become a teacher. “He had been in four different teams so far I believe.”  Nodding he understands the pressure of degrees and all. “Have you thought of internships yet?”

   “𝓘 kind of got that.” She mused happily. “Some reason     when playing video games red was always player one.     I was kind of sad when that happened because I always     preferred yellow.” 

“Uh yeah. Sorry about that. I didn’t choose the games.” He will never get used to the fact there were actual games about the rangers. It was odd to feel that people actually played the games. A smile grows on his lips at her words. “Which yellow ranger?”

He walked leaning against the older slightly as he squeezed one eye closed. Jason didn’t feel too bad but all the blood was making him nervous. ❝Jason.❞ The boy doubted that he could actually be a ranger. He had done so many bad things. Stolen too much ran away from the police too many times. His lips pressed into a tight frown forehead creasing but only causing the gash on his head to hurt more.

“Nice meeting you, Jason. I’m Carter.” Give the real name. Make the kid see he wasn’t a distant figure. The Rangers were meant to interact with the children and people who were in danger. They were near the water entrance, a team of lightspeed operators waited for him. “I got a civilian. He is injured.” He motioned to Jason, a hand moving to take gentle hold of the boy’s shoulder and taking him inside. “Now tell me, is this cool or not?” He said once inside the base, water around them, the almost city-like headquarters lighting in the deep waters.

Lydia paused in her musings to smile at him. “But at least it’s a day to relax right? Or however long you have until something happens.”

“I think so. I know Dr. Oliver found the physical form and use it to create the Ranger Archives. But not how exactly it works.”  Surely, Carter felt like he didn’t wanted to know, as if this was a mystery and he likes that. The feeling that he is part of something that cannot be explained through human psychics.  “No giant monsters around. I take it as a good day.” The firefighter points out, a hand run on his hair and smiled. “And what are you doing? Beside talking to strangers.”
