so i've been attempting napowrimo this year and i've been posting all my stuff on instagram, which has been an absolute pain because it fucks up all of my lines and i have to post notes app poetry, which is not at all cute, but then i remembered - tumblr! it's not just for secret fanfiction that i have been writing for the better part of four-ish years!

ironically, i forgot about tumblr because i was making an active effort to move away from here, because all i write here is said secret fanfiction and i want to grow from that. but then i went back to that secret fanfiction, remembered how easy and freeing and fun and wonderful it is to write on tumblr, and realized that, other than the fic itself, i also associate that feeling of freedom in writing with this site, so yeah. maybe going back here will help.

“If I was really going to be radical,” Wilson told me, returning to the very first line of the poem, “I would’ve said, polytropos means ‘straying,’ and andra” — “man,” the poem’s first word — “means ‘husband,’ because in fact andra does also mean ‘husband,’ and I could’ve said, ‘Tell me about a straying husband.’ And that’s a viable translation. That’s one of the things it says. But it would give an entirely different perspective and an entirely different setup for the poem.
