WOW HI AGAIN.
cleaning up this blog was a really intimidating task, and i tumblr at last allowed me to make a new blog so that i could just kind of start over. it’s...here, if anyone still wants to follow and interact with me! i genuinely miss zelda and want to do at least a touch of writing today...low activity because my job exhausts me but im going to do what i can.

during her reign, and for some time afterwards, zelda is known and celebrated as a patron of the arts.
she works hard to bolster the artistic communities of hyrule, and to open the arts up to the common folk. she builds public theaters and ensures those who want/need to can get in free (although the upper class is highly encouraged to offer a hefty donation, lest they earn the queen’s ire). she funds composers and musicians, with the understanding that they play publicly for the people of hyrule
and she does her best to create and fund various systems that allow any who wish to learn the opportunity to do so.
the arts reach a high point under her rule, with a large number of plays written, music composed, and art created during it.
there are even rumors of her performing in the ballet at times, although in disguise, but these have never been proven.
irt my last hc post, it likely doesn't help that there ARE portraits of her posing with swords and bows looking particularly cool
ice/warrior queen zelda is the interpretation of her that holds on after her death.
her severe appearance in royal portraits leads to the belief that she was cold, demure, and calculating. that she was truly humble and kind is something lost to the ages, as only those who interacted with her would be able to speak to that truth. it’s easy to look upon her and see a hardened queen, not ruthless in her policy but certainly not one who was particularly warm.
as years go by, people also remember little of her beyond her stand against zant, her fight against ganondorf with the hero (although, depending, her role in the fight might be brushed aside). a princess who would take up arms against a great evil, a princess willing to fight -- all ignoring this was a last resort for her, that she detested violence.
it gets muddied, as centuries and decades go by, painting someone much different than who she was. if she is remembered in any real capacity by the time breath of the wild happens, it is certainly far beyond a warped version of herself -- rather, it is a version that never existed in the first place.
