at this point whatever turkos and caicos was, it was far gone in her past. this whole week was speeding through the space jam press tour, doing some at her place in LA and then getting into a plane to make her whole fashion week work schedule go trough and then hit cannes to check what she should know already for the film industry this year. she had little to no time to adjust to the paces of it all, between all the meetings to get her looks and brain sorted for everything ahead of it. she was just hopping she would make a mistake and a red carpet item on a catwalk sideline.

things were turning out to the best after she got it moving. z coul always depend on work to set her mind on the best state possible, so after a round of interviews, a plane, a rental house with her best friend and some fashion shows she wasn’t very keen of, she arrived at her seat in the next one. feeling something on her feet, she bent over to get the planflet and handle to the person next to her. who was liam. “no worries - oh!”, she smiled as soon as she realised who he was.“liam! wow. never thought i would see you here!”

coming back up from the ground, he too was met with the unplanned surprise of seeing zendaya of all people seated right next to him. “oh wow, this is pretty interesting.” a smile met with his words as he was honestly a bit happy to see her. “i wasn’t planning on coming actually, bit of a spontaneous thing really.” 

his legs crossed as he sat back in his seat, curious hues tried hard to focus directly on the incoming models would dominate a centered stage. after a few minutes of debating it back and forth with himself, he looked back over at her. “so, what have you been up to? anything fun planned in paris?” it wasn’t a typical planned meeting      usually he organized to meet up with friends at events from time to time or made it a mission to mingle with old ones. he’d only just seen this beautiful face days ago, set on the fact he probably wouldn’t see her for a long while considering their incompatible paths in the industry.

it was far too easy to ignore the slight ache that made itself known as liam pulled her close, bittersweet memories of the past bleeding into her tipsy mind. perhaps one day she wouldn’t be so soft for the singer. as expected, the cocky comment seemed to bring something alive inside of her. a warmth deep within her chest that made her toes tingle, signature smirk on her lips. the liquor, the music that made her fucking thoughts melt away into nothingness, the challenge that was being dangled before her – bella was on cloud nine right now. “yeah?” fingers trailed downward, brushing over the soft fabric of his shirt and coming to rest against his chest. “be mine tonight.” they didn’t need to commit to anything ( they both knew bella had major commitment issues anyway ), didn’t need to make it a whole thing.  it could be just them and their obvious desire for each other. no feelings, no confessions of love or regret. “take me away, liam.” morning would come and she would leave. she always did. but they both knew that already. 

the alcohol he’d just purged into his liver seemed to be making all kinds of complicated things seem ... less complicated. his heart meshed with his desire to have bella in a way that both of them normally couldn’t latch onto for more than a few hours. despite being so dizzy from a never-ending merry-go-round going at the speed of light, he couldn’t help but keep coming back to her. she was this unattainable goddess, a vision of perfection     his dream girl ... only, she didn’t love him. never would. and here he was, standing in front of her, desperate for the smallest amount of affection she could offer him. something to forget the hole she’d pierced in the chambers of his heart. his lips connected hungrily to hers, body gravitating into hers. “i miss you.” it was probably one of the most heartfelt comments he’d managed to get out since meeting her on the dance floor tonight. not apart of the game they’d been playing. “come, love.” his fingers intertwined perfectly with hers, guiding a way for them through the populated area. his gaze was focused on an area less packed, wanting her all to himself. no distractions. nothing to get in his way.  once they’d found a tall wall, parallel to the bathrooms, he’d wrap his arms around the petite waist as his soft brown hues searched for some notion in her hypnotizing ones.

her eyes nearly rolled out of their sockets at the comment he countered with. he wasn’t entirely wrong, but there was no way alycia was going to tell him that. she wasn’t trying to give liam any sort of idea that she was even remotely on good terms with him after everything that had went down. she couldn’t run the risk of her guard being let down, because she knew if it did then she’d fall back into old habits— and those definitely were hard habits to break. “pretty sure harry has always been my favorite member of the band. i’m not sure who lied to you and told you otherwise.” her words were followed by some resemblance of a smile. “okay! we definitely do have to win this, although i have no idea what the prize for winning even is. i hope it’s a full body massage or something. i’ve been meaning to get one of those since we’ve been here.”

alycia scribbled a messy line through the task of finding a one direction member off the list. she figured it counted that her parter was indeed an ex member of the band, so they were already one ahead of everyone else. “it says that we also need to find a palm tree.” she looked up from the paper in search for a palm tree, her eyes nearly squinted shut as she tried to shield them from how bright the sun actually was that day. “i feel like this shouldn’t be as easy as it is. we’re on an entire island covered in palm trees. is there a particular palm tree we are supposed to find? or did whoever created this list have one too many before they started it?” she lowered the paper after scribbling a line through palm tree as well. “i gotta admit i’m a little shocked to see you here. i’m also shocked that you asked me to join you on this little adventure. you were the last person i ever excpted to pop up in my messages.” although it didn’t appear that way on the surface, it broke alycia’s heart at how distant she felt from liam. once upon a time he used to be her rock, someone she loved more than anything, and now it felt like they were total strangers. like all that history they shared together was never there. “how have you been? how's—” she paused, not sure she even had a right to ask, “how’s bear?”

it was sort of a mystery to him why his best friend had dipped off planet earth or maybe it was liam’s world, because she certainly was active on instagram each time he opened the app. though maybe if he’d spent more than a few minutes digging deep into his conscience he’d find the answer. sooner or later, the conversation would be had. probably later rather than sooner if it was liam picking      he was in no rush to uncover the truth. the same truth which he probably wouldn’t want to accept. “pretty sure you’re a fucking liar. ” his laugh grew louder as he shook his head in disbelief. “so you disappeared off the face of earth to be a liam payne hater?” his comment was probably going to strike a nerve in her, in fact, that’s exactly what he had hoped for. “you missed out. there was one day two. i’d ask where you were but maybe that’s not any of my concern, anymore.” 

the struggle came across evident with his old friend as she blinded herself from sunlight. “no sunglasses?” he asked her sarcastically with a charming smirk plastered on. it was probably the inner competitive side that liam brought to the table that made him so determined to win her over. “look...we should be happy it’s starting off in that way. but it gets harder.” he paused before taking a glance at the list they’d shared. “telescope? where the hell do we find one of those?” falling back in his shoes, he took a step back to scan their surrounding area. “you’re here. i’m here, i figured we try to hang out and see what happens. i really have missed you, alycia.” he pretty much had a bad case of word vomit, trying to tell someone who ghosted him that he missed them. but yet, at the same time it felt like a hundred weights had set him free. chains disconnected from him. “good.. doing good. not much to tell.” he answered her question in the best and most liam way possible. i mean what was he supposed to say to someone who he didn’t recognize anymore? that his life sucked? he had nobody to talk to? “bear... ah little man is doing great. growing lots.” he tugged at his inner lip, unsure of whether to confess the truth about his son. “he misses you. asks about you all the time. he wants you to read him that story you promised ... before you left and never came back.”

life had been back in full force for liam as he had come back from a very unforgettable vacation. there were barely any words to quite summarize the adventures everyone in his circle seemed to be included in. some worse than others. the male had stopped in with his ex girlfriend and son, giving him a great big hug - along with the cool little knickknacks he’d picked up in turks and caicos. and since he wasn’t heartless, he’d gotten a little something for cheryl too. after visiting, he’d made plans to jet off for the end of fashion week to hopefully network a little more, which his team had encouraged out of him. especially with the new music he’d planned on dropping sooner rather than later. one long flight nearly back to back with his trip home from the british territory, he was beginning to get way too used to being on a plane. hopefully this would be one of the last trips until he could head back home and stay home. 

 in the back of liam’s far too twisted and complex mind, he had somehow wondered if he’d see bella. he might’ve not cared as much had it been a no strings attached hook up, but given their extensive history, it was hard to just forget it. once the lights had dimmed for the fashion show at the novotel paris les halles to begin, he got a little bit more comfortable in his seat. he wasn’t usually sure who he’d be sat next to before an event started, so it would end up being a big surprise who fate brought him in the company of this time around. currently, as the audience could be heard chattering against each other, his face remained buried in a pamphlet which he would end up losing grip on as it fiddled out of his hands. “ah, sorry ... i don’t know how i managed to drop this.” embarrassment was written all over him as he bent over in front of the neighbor’s seat, picking up the guide. “my apologies.”  @ofdaya​

alycia couldn’t recall the last time she had seen liam face to face. to say they had a complicated history was an understatement. they had known one another since they were in their teenage years. the two had practically grown up together as newcomers to the hollywood industry, and they had always shared a bond that she thought was unbreakable— until it was. the feelings that alycia had developed for liam over the years had finally come to a head. she had gotten tired of watching him with other girls who weren’t her, and she figured if she stepped back and distanced herself from him and the problem that it would be easier, but the only thing that became easier was not speaking to him.

weeks would turn into months, and before she knew it those months had turned into a year. they had shared the occasional text here and there, but most contact had been cut off completely until now. she had run into him in passing on the trip and the two had decided to attempt the scavenger hunt together. dressed in a simple pair of bicycle shorts and a white crop tank top, she clutched the list of items they would need to find on said scavenger hunt as she walked up behind where liam was waiting on her, smacking him in the back of the head. “one dumb one direction member…check.”

little by little liam had begun to lose everything in the last year, starting with his bestfriend and year and a half long romance with the one person he intended to spend forever and a day with. the one person who he needed was not there. it was insufferable dealing with a such loss on his own. waking up every day knowing that yet alycia was just one text or call away, she probably would’ve never answered was enough motivation to forget the thought altogether. 

though, luckily, he’d worked up the nerve to swallow the everlasting bits of his self pride and rekindle their friendship. well at least, he’d hoped this would be in the direction of such. due to extreme heat and perhaps hoping to make a lasting impression, liam had recycled his shirt for the day. he stood there in the direct sunlight, shorts on       waiting for his old friend. “hey now...that’s no way to greet your favorite one direction member.” hands sliding together, a charming grin present. "lets get this! you know we have to win!”

it was no surprise that liam was able to call her out in ten seconds flat, bella never able to get a lie past him no matter how hard she tried. “not entirely sure if it’s a pro or con that you can read me like an open book. i was quite enjoying being a mystery to the world.” words were followed by a lazy shrug of her shoulder, much too focused on the hand trailing her body. an innocent gesture to any outsiders watching them, but bella knew it went much deeper than that. tossing back the rest of her drink and lying to herself that the tequila was for a bit of liquid courage, bella finally turned so she was face-to-face with the brit again. her signature smirk hadn’t faltered once, still so overly confident. “i could …” she mused, one arm coming to rest around his neck to keep him close. prey or predator, she wasn’t letting him out of her sight just yet. “but where’s the fun in that? i’d much rather make you work for it first.” 

he finished the remains of the tequila leveled drink before setting it down on a nearby platform. “lucky for you i’m in a secret mood. i’ll keep it for you.” since his other hand had been conveniently freed up, he figured it was as good a chance as any to tightly wrap another arm around her. the snug feeling of having her body pressed right into his seemed to always feel like home. even if home was in a foreign club thousands of miles from a place they used to call home, he had her close. appreciative of the fact she was now in front of him, reaching the peak of his own eagerness for a gaze into emerald glossy orbs. the same ones which happened to make him forget his name       despite following an amicable split which they’d just so happened to quote to both of their followers two months back. his head corked to the side so he could flash her one of those irresistible, liam payne smiles. “oh on the contrary, i think you and i could have lots of fun. anywhere.” a cocky rebuttal followed her tease, only he was hoping it would strike a match in her. “for you? i’d work as hard as you needed me to.” his recently freed up hand fell down the strip of her spine, fingers extending to map over the bubble shape she posessed, pressing in for a quick squeeze. meanwhile, his other hand was available for tucking a few loose strands of her chocolate hair before an ear. then without much notice, he issued a seductive message. only intended for her. “just tell me what you want, love. i’ll be that for you tonight.”

for a overthinker, zendaya was doing great! after agreeing to go to go the picnic with liam things took a turn for the best. all the thoughts in her head about her worries back in LA slowly faded and she replaced that by picking her outfit. it gave her such a energy boost she even picked more activies to do - horse ridding with gigi, some time with perrie. in fact she got so carried away she suggested hailey for them to go to a brewery, even tho she didn’t drink. thing is - having this hang out with liam made her mind go easy on herself.

and that was probably why she was standing next to the beach entrance looking down to the sand on her heels. she was so chill she didn’t spent much time thinking that she would have to WALK on the sand. rolling her eyes at herself she bent over and pulled out her boots, hugging it closer to her body as she walked to the picnic dinner table, taking a seat since she didn’t found liam. and then he was there a minute later. “hey mate”, she did her best to give liam a britsh accent.

as he approached the main scene a little closer, he spotted zendaya almost immediately in the crowd of friendly faces. a wave emerged from his free hand as he began to filter out spots in his mind of where they could possibly enjoy each other’s company. “tell me, did you spent all night practicing with tom over the phone last night?” clearly he was joking, he had only hoped she was used to his humor by now. “not bad, though. you would’ve had me fooled had we met just now. ten out of ten acting.” liam winked as he finished his comment, basket around his wrist while the other arm was casually in his pocket. “so shall we find a spot? or maybe you know some.”

sometimes it amazed bella just how easily the two of them could fall back into old habits, her rejection locked away like some secret they were forbidden to speak about. “sometimes.” bella echoed, observing liam closely, taking in all the details of him that were only apparent in such closeness, mapping them out and stashing them away in case this proved to be a singular opportunity. “i was having the time of my life, but i’m not going to complain about your arrival since it came with a free drink. ”the lie slipped out so easily, smirk on her lips as her hand came to settle over his that currently rested on her hip. bella was never one to play nice, taking every challenge that was presented to her. she loved the never-ending game with liam and she was all too thrilled to play yet another round with him until one of them eventually broke or waved the white flag. “tell me - did you come here alone or am i stealing you away from some innocent soul right now?”

“mmm.” a brief pause. enough of one to allow curious fingertips to explore along the illustrated curves of perfection. “you sure about that, love?” licking his lips, there’s something about having her body pressed up against his in this venue. it feels harder to inhale. “you know, you were always the shittiest liar.“ had he been positioned in her front, he probably would’ve confirmed a left brow twitch      a signature indication of a bella lie. the male brought his drink up to his lips for a sip, the tequila lingering on his palette enough to produce a kick. “now when you say it like that it just sounds depressing.” his smirk evident from the game he’d been playing with her upon his arrival. similar to a cat and mouse game. there was no other person in the room who could capture his attention quite like she did. call it the bella hadid love spell. “i’m yours if you do wanna steal me away. just say the word.” meaning deepens in his voice as he whispers against her neck. meanwhile, a hand closes in against her waist, making its way down to the ends of her fit.

‘‘Wish I wasn’t’’ Manu sighed, shivers running down his spine. To say he’d been scared to death would be an understatement. ‘‘Yes, I’m all fine now! Someone took really good care of me last night’’ he chuckled innocently. ‘’Well, Nick came to rescue us. I’ll be forever grateful, if it wasn’t for him we probably wouldn’t have made it through the night’’ he explained, letting out a soft sigh. ‘’It definitely felt like a horror movie. I’m so glad I had Gi with me, though. We made it through together’’ he told the other. ‘’Well I can’t say no to a drink!’’ he chuckled, hoping a drink would lighten the mood a little again.

“you have no idea how thrilled i am to hear that.“ he genuinely replied to other male. nobody deserved to go through such horror, that was for fucking sure. “nick? bro is that right? hero status or what? i can’t imagine how cold it must’ve been. it rained here too for a bit. must’ve been worse over there.“ the idea of his own friend pulling the rescue card and getting the two individuals out made him proud to be his friend. “how did it even happen, if you don’t mind me asking? aren’t those trips monitored or something?“ liam started heading towards the local bar, hoping they could continue with this insane story while grabbing a drink. he still couldn’t wrap his head around how something like that could even happen. “makes you never want to go exploring again, i bet.”
