Imagine living your life afraid all the time and there was nothing you could do about it. Imagine walking into a room and automatically assuming that people are watching you, judging your appearance. Imagine not being able to control your emotions and your mood being able to switch up at any time without warning. Imagine being told all the time that there is something wrong with you. That is my current situation. I have this one coworker, let’s call her Tara. Tara is constantly making comments such as “you’re sick in the head” or “there is something wrong with you” or if I’m having a good day without any mood swings I get a “She must’ve taken her pills today”. If it’s not a comment about my mental state, it is a comment about my appearance. She told me I shouldn’t wear certain pants because they show off my “knock knees”. Me being the passive aggressive person that I am, I just allow it to occur, silently effecting me. What should I do? I’ve lashed out a few times, uncontrollably of course but that has not worked, in fact it has made things worse. Anyone have any advice?
