Very quick digital painting to feed my Halloween nostalgia.
A few days ago I posted a work in progress piece that currently is stuck in ugly phase purgatory, so in the meantime I made a quick digital version.
The thing in the trees. 12x16 acrylic on canvas
Work in progress, acrylic on canvas with posca lines
Little one day project, the world’s deadliest mushroom.
Work in progress painting for a show I’m entering soon.
8”x10” acrylic on canvas panel
Hey just a fun little reminder that libraries are, often, already funded by the government. The government pays us to subsidize access to things like books, journals that would otherwise be behind a paywall (academic articles etc) and a bunch of other things. The library card is FREE!!!! No cost unless you lose, damage or fail to return a book on time. Even then, we often have programs like fine forgiveness for lower income borrowers who lose or damage materials while they’re in circulation.
Literally, please, for the sake of my SANITY and my career, lobby your local government for more funding to be allocated for public libraries!
The rise in predatory publisher price gouging has forced librarians across North America to have to start dropping academic journal subscriptions because they’re just too expensive. We’re talking 10s of millions of dollars that a metropolitan public library already pays in subscription fees to allow you to access the articles they have for free!
So please support your public library ❤️
Fun day drawings
These two drawings were done in the days following the January 6th attack on the U.S. capital. A reaction to the division between the people of America.
Some fun experimentation illustrations
A pair of illustrations from around Christmas to,e last year.
I’ve fallen behind on posting my art around, so I’ll be doing a few posts to catch up.
Relatively quick drawing I did in a mood. Done on my iPad
