Chapter 2 ->
The kingdom was one you had been to before. The palace, MightAll loomed over the city with jutting towers and a dark history. The current king, Midoriya, was newly appointed and still learning from his advisors all while holding control of the militia he sent out daily to finish the war his predecessor started. You knew of King Might being slain a few months before but you were new to the idea of this Midoriya taking control. The old king was a peaceful man and only declared war on your home country when your King Hisashi went mad with power.
You heard from your dear cousins that Hisashi killed Might in battle but was the slain by King Might's most beloved knight. They also told you that the knight killed five hundred men immediately after; then rode off into the setting sun. So claiming them as reliable story tellers would be il advised.
You were a refugee from King Hisashi’s land. Thousands of soldiers came barging in, killing families and Stealing food, they plundered shops for supplies and pushed you out of your small cottage. You had made a trip to another land knowing it was your enemy’s. You had family here, the Kirishima’s, who told you to come stay with them. You compiled.
The Kirishima’s had a lovely flower shop and they let you work for a small wage. You used the money you received to pay rent and save up for your own cottage.
The flower shop was small but packed full of plants. Bright pink, orange, white, and yellow flowers blotched you vision as far as you could see. An old wooden counter hid receipts and order sheets in its oak drawers. Your stool always off to the side where you needed it.
------
You had worked there for little over two weeks when the soldiers came back from their battle. It was a sad sight to see. Thousands had left, hundreds returned. Mothers cried over their missing children; women prayed their husbands were in the crowd of the returned, girls excitedly looked in the crowd to find their betrothed only to see the faces of unfamiliar men. You could have cried watching their defeated faces.
Leading the return trip through the streets was Knight Bakugou and his band of soldiers. Madam Mina, Sir Sero, Sir Kaminari, and Sir Kirishima. Your cousins all ran to the windows to see their brother return with all his friends. They waved to him and screamed giddily when he waved back.
The thought of all those lives lost made you want to sob in reverence but you had a job to get to. People were coming into the shop in droves, trying to get flowers for their loved ones. You handed women and young ladies flowers and gave soldiers bouquets for their girlfriends.
The parade soon ended leaving some in tears and some in joyous spirits. The people left the streets and returned home with their families while you continued sweeping the floors of the shop.
“We’re going to go see Eijiro! You want to come?” One of the Kirishimas asked before they all stomped out of the shop.
“No, I’ll stay and clean up. Thank you though!” They all nodded and tramped out of the door, the bell ringing every time the door opened for another girl. The Kirishimas had twelve children and Sir Eijiro was the only boy. Which had most people sending up a prayer for their parents when they hear of their familial situation.
When they all left the area, you turned the sign on the door to “closed” and continued cleaning. You moved the money from the register and placed it in the lockbox under the counter; swept all the order sheets in to a record folder and straightened up the papers' placement. You finished sweeping and started to water the plants when the bell rang loudly letting you know someone was coming in.
“We’re closed. Sorry.”
“Who the fuck are you?!” A gravelly voice growled out from behind you.
“Can I help you, sir?” You turned around and were surprised to find a sword held to your throat and even more so when you saw the owner was none other than Sir Bakugou, Knight to the King Midoriya. The others in his band of Knights were standing huddled by the door, shifting uncomfortably.
“We’re still closed.” You used your pointer finger to push the blade aside and started walking to the door. You pushed yourself between the large men and woman and opened the door. The bell rang in your ears, signaling the moment you made a huge mistake.
The other Knights moved to the side and Sir Bakugou stomped through the walls of armed forces.
“Why are you in Kirishimas’ flower shop?” He held the tip of his blade to your jugular once again and you sighed in irritation. "They have a million other girls to work the counter, they have never needed a new hire."
“You hide behind a blade and expect me to be threatened into telling you information. You don’t treat people like this if you want the truth.” You crossed your arms. The sword was shoved angrily back into its sheath and Bakugou’s gloved hand slammed onto your neck, the metal of the gloves dug into your skin but you were too stubborn to show it affected you.
“You’re from the Hisashi Kingdom.” Bakugou stated as he looked into your eyes.
“And you’re a drama queen. These are all astute observations.” The other Knights gasped and the hand tightened around your throat, his face turned red with fury and he snarled.
“Think you’re so much better than me?” You nodded, rolling your eyes, “I challenge you to a duel. Fight me outside right now.” He let go of you and huffed as he left the shop angrily.
“I’m really sorry about him, he’s a bit tender after the fight.” Sir Kaminari tried to apologize and put his arm around your shoulders which you slapped off easily.
“He should be concerned over his injured soldiers, not a Hisashi girl in a flower shop.” You walked to your bag by the counter and pulled out your emergency item. It was a sword your father gave you before he passed.
You stomped angrily out of the door and stood in front of the steaming blonde, his knights all standing on his side of the street.
“Take off your armor.” Bakugou scoffed at your command.
“Why?”
“Does it look like I’m wearing any?” You gestured to your plain dress.
Bakugou started pulling off his armor piece by piece while you started polishing your own sword. Madame Mina noticed the glinting sword and gasped, shoving her elbow into Sero who did the same to Kaminari.
Mina bent down to Bakugou and whispered something into his ear urgently. His eyes widened and looked at your sword hilt.
“Who gave you that sword?” He asked, his voice quivering only slightly.
“My father, Kirishima Eijiro The First.” You flashed him a smile, your teeth glinting in the sunlight.
Bakugou took a deep breath and stood again, all of his armor in a pile at his friends’ feet. “Don’t think I’m going to give up a fight on those terms!” He yelled and widened his stance. You united a string around your waist and your skirt fell off leaving you in the men’s trousers you had stolen not long ago.
“Of course not! I wouldn’t want that from King Deku’s best Knight.”
Bakugou growled like a wild dog, “Nobody calls him ‘Deku’ except for me!” He lunged, his sword swinging right past you. You smiled, he was right where you wanted him.
You swung your sword, cutting his arm slightly as he backed away. He gnashed his teeth and swung at your head as you ducked under it and swept his legs out from under him. Only one of his legs was moved at all and he kicked your stomach harshly.
You rolled out of the way of his sword which hit the dirt sending up dust which gave you an idea. You grabbed a handful and threw it into his eyes, temporarily blinding him. He swung his sword wildly which you stopped with your own and punched him in his handsome face twice before he pushed you off of him.
He tripped your leg and you fell to the floor, your sword slid away from you in the crash and he held his to your chest and gently pushed down so you could feel the point between your breasts. You breathed heavily and stared up at his cocky smirk. His blonde hair was sticking to his forehead and his eyebrows were knit in concentration. He had a blush on his flawless skin which was (probably) caused by exhaustion.
You let out an airy laugh and reached out to grab his hand. He put away his sword and pulled you off the ground.
“No one has gotten that many hits on me by themselves. Your father taught you well.” He shook your hand which you gripped tightly.
“He really did,” you looked at his friends who stared at you both in amazement.
“Oh, my, Gosh!! No one has ever been able to get that many hits on bakugou! I’m Mina. It's wonderful to meet you!” Madame Mina hugged you excitedly, crushing your body with her metal armor clattering together.
You smiled and made small talk with the group when you looked up. People from the shops and houses around you must’ve heard the clattering of swords clashing and came to see what the commotion was. They peered out of the windows at you all which made you uncomfortable.
“Let’s go inside the shop,” you were about to suggest, but the sound of running feet made you turn. Eijiro was running full speed at you with a huge smile on his face, his red hair flying.
“Cousin!!!” He jumped on you, crushing you in a hug and flinging you both to the ground. You wiggled out from under him and pinned him to the ground, his face squished in the dirt. Bakugou and his friends flinched at the both of you to help their friend but he held up his hand. “Wh’t re yah don in twn?” You got off him and watched him spring off of the floor excitedly. “What are you doing in town?” he asked again more clearly.
“Well. My house was raided by someone’s army,” you gave a blank look to Bakugou and the other Knights, “they set it on fire and stole all my stuff. So I left. Aunt Kirishima told me I could stay with them so I’ve been staying with your sisters.”
“Oh! Guys, this is my cousin, (Y/n). We grew up together before Uncle Eijiro left. He taught me and her everything he knew about fighting. I was named after him!” Eijiro had his dopy smile plastered on his face which made you roll your eyes but still smile.
“It’s nice to meet you. The name’s Sir Kaminari, but for you, you can call me Denki.” He bowed low and Sero hit the back of his head.
“Sorry about him. I’m Sero, the fourth Knight in his Majesty’s Royal Guard. Denki’s the fifth.” He bowed as well which made you chuckle.
“I’m Mina Ashido! The third Knight in King Midoriya’s Royal Guard,” she smiled widely.
“And you know me, the second!” Kirishima rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
You smiled at all of them and motioned for them to enter the shop. Your stomach ached in pain. You ushered the large group inside the house portion of the shop and made them sit around a table. Kirishima was still smiling brightly as he helped Bakugou put his armor in a side closet as well as all the others. When they had all gotten the metal gear off, they sat around the dining room table.
Bakugou watched your hips sway as you bustled around the kitchen to make tea. You were wearing mens’ trousers, that was very unusual to him. He had never seen a woman wear them other than Mina.
“Uncle Eijiro let her wear whatever she wanted. No boys liked her ‘cuz of her bold attitude.” Kirishima stated to the staring man as he bit into an apple he had taken from the table.
Bakugou hummed in response and continued to watch you move around almost like it was a dance. You filled the kettle with water and waited for it to boil. You placed the tea leaves in a strainer and dropped it into the boiling kettle. You stared at the wall in front of you while you waited for it to steep enough.
Bakugou’s eyes never left your body, even as you moved to the cupboards and swept the hanging leaves to the side to find the boxes of sugar cubes.
You reached up to grab them but couldn’t reach the box of sweet cubes. Something hard was pushed against your back and a toned arm rose to grab it for you. You turned and faced Bakugou who was boxing you in with his body. He handed you the container and you smiled uneasily to him.
His arm hit your stomach as he turned to leave and you fell to the floor in pain. Kirishima burst up from his seat and ran over to you. Bakugou was already kneeling by your side. You put your hand on his face and pushed him away.
You whimpered and a couple tears leaked from your eyes.
“You okay?? What hurts?” You groaned at your cousin’s words.
“Madame Mina-“ you gasped out. The tall woman pushed past the the men and scooped you up from the floor.
“Where’s her room?” Mina asked pointedly. Kirishima led her up the stairs to a room filled with bunk beds.
She made the curious men leave and closed the door.
You took off your shirt to show a large boot print with blood bubbling on the edges. It was purple and green with yellow around the wound. Mina sighed. She had seen many things in war, this was not the first time she had seen an injury coated in blood.
“There’s a first aid kit in the kitchen. Eijiro will know where it is.” You breathed out.
She nodded and left, closing the door behind her. Four curious eyes dug into her with an intense gaze.
“Kirishima, she said you know where the first aid kit is. Go get it.” Kirishima ran towards the kitchen and pans clattered while he searched quickly. He ran back up the creaky brown steps and handed it to the awaiting woman.
She slid back into the room leaving the men in confusion before the kettle began to sing. They all walked down to fix the tea.
Mina sat beside you on the bed, pulling out a bandage, whiskey, and ointment. “He nicked you pretty good, huh?” You chuckled. It wasn’t humorous, you just couldn’t think of a better comment.
“Yeah, I guess.” You hissed when the alcohol hit your skin, disinfecting the area. The wound was directly under your breast so it was best that the men didn’t help you.
She gently rubbed some ointment on the colored area and wrapped the bandage around your chest.
You sighed in slight annoyance and stood, slipping on your shirt quickly. Both of you walked out of the room and down the stairs into the kitchen where the boys were huddled around one corner of the long dinner table.
“You okay?” Kirishima raised his eyebrow in concern.
“I’ll be fine, your friend over here fucked up my stomach a bit with his big ass foot.” You rolled your eyes at all of the guys wide eyes. Kirishima didn’t pay any attention to your language.
“Did you guys fight?”
“Little bitch challenged me to a duel. I kicked his ass for a solid two minutes before he slammed me on the floor and made sure to leave a lovely gift.” You walked away from the table and grabbed a bottle of vodka from a glass cupboard hidden behind leaves from a spider plant hanging and growing over everything.
You sat across from your cousin and tilted the bottle towards him in question and he nodded. You took his teacup filled with tea and poured a small amount then you grabbed an empty mug and filled it to the brim. The glug glug glug filled the room while Kaminari smiled excitedly. He had never met a woman quite like you.
Bakugou rolled his eyes and held his empty glass out to you. You raised your eyebrow. “You sure you want this shit? This is the good stuff, made in Fatgum. It’s really strong.”
“I can handle it, little girl.” Kirishima held back a smirk as he watched you pour the drink into his best friend’s glass.
Bakugou waited and watched as you took a swig without making a face. You turned to Kaminari and offered the clear liquid. He held out his cup filled with tea. You poured in a bit and watched out of the corner of your eye as Bakugou sniffed his drink then took a sip.
He swallowed and coughed. His face turned red while his friends laughed at his still struggling form. He took a deep breath and looked at you who was looking at the table with great interest. You downed the rest of your drink and smiled at Kirishima who’s face was turning red from intoxication.
After a few drinks together, Kaminari was sleeping on the floor, Sero on top of him, Mina was sitting on the floor in a deep conversation with the spider plaint, Kirishima was less drunk and was actually talking with you and Bakugou.
“So where are all of the other Kirishimas, Eijiro?” You asked and handed him a small cup filled with the last of the clear drink.
“They went out to visit their friends. They’ll be back tomorrow.” He took a swig. “We should get Bakugou into a room, he’s looking a bit tipsy there.” He pointed to the blonde who had had his head lying on the tabletop. You nodded and helped the redhead pick him up and drag him up the stairs and into a bunk bed.
You walked down the stairs, Kirishima on your heels. You tapped Mina on the shoulder gently.
“Hey, sorry to interrupt your conversation. Could you help us drag those two upstairs?” You jabbed your thumb over at the two sleeping lumps.
Mina nodded enthusiastically and asked the plant to excuse her.
Kirishima, you, and Mina managed to drag them into some bunks and then plopped onto the wooden framed beds.
I have been gone so so long and don’t I know it!!! I recently started writing again, but I have switched gears and am now trying to write some on ao3. I’m not ending my series here, I still plan on adding to them now that I have finished school until I decide I want further education. But if you could check out the story on ao3 that would be awesome! Please mind that tags, I’m writing loosely based off my life so it is ROUGH!! Here’s the link
Hi there👋 I just wanted to let you know how awesome your writing is! I actually made my account so I could read all of your fics (and I loved every single one). Anyways sorry to bother you, have a wonderful day/night! :)
Dude!!! That is amazing!! Thank you for telling me! This account has been pretty inactive while I’ve been busy with college but I do have some stuff backed up. Thank for telling me, that’s awesome!!!
Oh my gosh. I was sooo bad at writing 😭😭😭 I’m looking over some of my series to add to and I’m finding so many errors I could have easily avoided if I’d just read over it a few times😭😭
OH MY WORD!!! I GOT BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT GUYS!!!!! I was literally locked out of this account for FOREVER. I forgot my password but I just figured it out on a stroke of luck! 😱😱😱😱
Just wanted to let everyone know, my phone restarted and all of my stories (that have and have not posted yet) are completely GONE. I have to rewrite the 6,000 word chapter to the knight bakugou fix and that pisses me off. I’m sorry my guys.
THANK YEW SHAY FOR THE TAG <33 this is the last song from my spotify bc i was thinking about writing a fic inspired by it :> and what better way of getting inspiration than playing it on repeat.

<- chapter 4
There are 1297 words to read below the line!!
Spirits were high after the picnic. Word had slipped from Eijiro to one of his sisters and the whole household was in an uproar of pleasantries when you returned home.
“I’m so excited for your wedding, Y/n! I think I should like to be the flower girl very much!” The youngest Kirishima held her little wooden pony to her chest dreamily, dancing all around the hope chest. You chuckled at her antics, continuing your embroidery, swaying gently in the wooden rocking chair.
Mrs. Kirishima asked for some of her own embroidered towels and you quickly agreed, perhaps to pay the Kirishimas back in any way possible. The stack of finished towels was cut short as you handed the old woman her new cloth pile. “Thank you, my dear. Having you in our home has been such a blessing.” Her hand was warm and her smile warmer.
“Thank you. You have no idea what a blessing being here has been. I appreciate all you’ve done for me.” You placed your hand on hers with a pleasant smile.
Thumping in the next room drew your attention away from your wonderful aunt. Eijiro walked to the threshold of the room in his full armor with sweat dripping down his brow. “You need to come with me.” His eyes were cold and his voice, firm.
You stood suddenly, your skirts wrapping around your legs with every quick step. “What’s going on?” Panic filled your veins and your eyes danced over all the Kirishima girls huddled around the table with worried expressions and hurried whispers filling the air.
“I’ll tell you on the way,” your cousin—always a gentleman—opened the door to let you through.
The cool of the day before had passed and the air was wiggling in the heat, and dust blew through the streets. You understood why Eijiro was sweating so much when he entered in a hurry.
You were glad you had worn a short sleeved top. But having pants and a skirt, you were burning up. “So what’s going on??” You were almost running, trying to keep up with Ei’s fast pace.
“Bakugou’s been badly injured and King Deku asked for you. I don’t exactly know why the king wants you there but I was going to fetch you anyway when Katsuki got hurt.” His gaze stayed straight ahead. So you did the same.
The castle’s guard entrance was quickly growing as you got closer. The large black oak doors creaked open after a few shouts were exchanged between Eijiro and the guard on duty in the tower above you.
The medic tent was closer to the center of the guards’ courtyard. Eijiro held open the tents flap for you as you stepped inside.
Cots lined the walls, small bedside tables no larger then a foot wide were placed between each bed. Only two young nurses walked between the cots.
Katsuki was the farthest from the entrance, his expression pained as a short man chatted enthusiastically to him, the chair he was on creaking with every movement of his flailing arms.
You squeezed past the two nurses easily, Eijiro had a harder time with his armor taking up a lot of space. It also didn’t help that one of the nurses was making eyes at your cousin which caused him to falter briefly.
Katsuki looked up at you when you got closer. You couldn’t read his expression but you assumed it was annoyance with a hint of gratitude due to your appearance shutting up the green haired man.
Eijiro appeared next to you and bowed, nudging your elbow to do the same. You curtsied politely, not knowing who the smaller man was.
“You must be Kachan’s fiancé!!” The man’s face lit up as he took your hand and kissed you knuckles out of courtesy. “I haven’t heard much about you from him, but Kirishima certainly has some nice things to say about his favorite cousin!”
You smiled politely, folding your hands in front of you, glad you had wiped your face with your handkerchief before you entered the medical tent. “I just so happen to be his only cousin.” You chuckle and tilt your head.
“I do apologize,” the man bowed lowly, “I am King Izuku Midoriya. You may call me Midoriya, or Deku if you’d like!” He smiled brightly.
“It’s very nice to meet you, your majesty.” You curtsied again and bowed your head. You told him you name in a gentle tone, but your eyes were on Katsuki. His gaze was focused on you, a blond eyebrow raising. He lifted his arm and gave a slight wave.
King Midoriya talked for quite awhile while you tried not to giggle watching your fiancé mock his words, mouthing everything the king said, perfectly lip syncing every word.
“—and then I realized I had never actually met you, so I asked Sir Kirishima to kindly fetch you. While it’s not favorable that he was hurt, I’m glad I remembered to ask for you because of it—“ the poor man just didn’t know when to shut his mouth.
“Deku. You’re boring her. You met her—good for you—now get out so I can talk to my fiancé in peace.” Bakugou groaned as he shoved off the thin sheet covering his thighs.
Izuku looked surprised, his eyebrows nearly touching his hairline. “Oh!! Of course! I am so sorry! I was so caught up in telling my story I completely missed the fact that you were tryin—“
“Shut up! Get out!” Katsuki closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose like he had a migraine.
“Right!” He turned and walked out with Eijiro.
You took King Deku’s seat cautiously watching Katsuki sigh roughly and sit up.
“That was pretty harsh.” You leaned back.
“Yeah well, the guy doesn’t know when he’s being too much.” He smirked slightly and twiddled with the sheet.
“So how badly were you hurt?” You tried to act unconcerned.
“I actually got a taste of my own medicine,” he chuckled, “remember when I kicked you in the ribs?”
You winced at the memory.
“Well I was gifted something very similar,” he gently peeled up his shirt to reveal a very blood soaked bandage over his chest. “Mina finally bested me.” His light laugh didn’t hold much humor in it. “She got me good right on the chest.”
“Does it still hurt?” You couldn’t hide your concern you had been trying to conceal the whole conversation.
“Oh yeah, but I’m sure I’ll heal up in a couple of days.”
You nodded slowly and twisted your fist into the fabric of your skirt.
“Did you enjoy the picnic?” He asked sheepishly.
“Yes. It was very pleasant. I appreciate your efforts to make this marriage as smooth as possible, Bakugou.” In the back of your mind you growled at yourself for using his last name. You knew you were just trying to distance yourself from your feelings. But you couldn’t become attached to this brut.
Katsuki’s smile dropped. “Yes. That was the purpose.” He looked at the canvas wall across the room.
“You should be cleared to leave for home, Sir Bakugou.” An old woman stepped close to the bed and placed and aged, shaking hand on your shoulder. “Stay out of trouble for a couple weeks. No training while you’re healing. Understand?” She asked firmly.
“Yeah, yeah. I know the drill—“
“Katsuki.”
“I—“ he sighed. “Yes, ma’am.” He nodded and dropped his hand he had raised while waving off her warnings.
You smiled at his quick defeat, and helped him stand to his feet.
“I don’t want to see you back her for at least two weeks, Sir Bakugou.” The firm statement was waved off by the blonde who let himself use you as a crutch.
I think I’ve posted this before, but it’s a THING now.
In the game I DM, I ended up making up a recurring merchant NPC just for shits and giggles - a Kobold who calls himself Dumas and goes around selling strange magical/enchanted items which are… not as they seem. His prices are enticing, but the items have strange properties, and it’s a gamble to see if your investment is worth it.
My players love him so much they have taken to Sending him every time they want something new, and all of their party funds end up going to this little creature, who is delighted, and is now probably the richest bastard in all of Barovia. (Yes, this is in Curse of Strahd…. look, humor needs to be a part of EVERY game imo, even the Gothiest of them all.)
