OH MY GOD SNOWFLAKES WAS MY FAVORITE FANFIC BACK IN THE DAY! I am so happy to see you here 😍😍😍 I've recently come back to jily fics as well. Do you have any recs or authors I can follow?

Oh my goodness, anon, this made my day!! It’s so surreal hearing from people who read Snowflakes all those years ago... that fic holds such a special place in my heart, so I’m glad you enjoyed it <3 I just got back into jily/fanfic this past year and boy do I have plenty of recs for you...

First off, for a quick self-promo ;) I’m currently writing Snowflakes’ sequel, Raindrops, and posting updates weekly-ish if you’re interested in what happens next to Lily and the gang!

There are SO MANY insanely talented and lovely authors here who have written amazing fics, but here are just a few of my favorites:

Cliche by @tumbledfreckles  is a must-read, especially for people who read classic jily fics back in the day. Every chapter focuses on different jily cliches (head boy/girl duties, broom closets, etc) and it’s my favorite 7th year James/Lily fic! Absolutely perfect in every way. 

@nah-she-didnt is out here posting fantastic one-shots and prompts, Betrayal being one of my favorites!! She’s also periodically teasing us with snippets of a Ted/Andromeda fic that I know will own my life once it’s posted...

@maraudersftw is an absolute gem and has blessed us with AU masterpieces such as Deception and Disguise and Retribution and regularly delivers top notch one shots like Days of Quiet! 

Another AU genius is @thejilyship whose Muggle AU Neighbors fic, All This Time, brings me insurmountable joy. She also writes the most incredible fem!jily fics like Cuddle for Warmth !!

@startanewdream has a jily!lives series called Eyes Glistening, which is filled with beautiful, heartfelt moments of James and Lily getting to be there for Harry throughout his life and it’s so, so lovely. 

What would any list I make be without @mppmaraudergirl and her INCREDIBLE professor!james reporter!lily AU, Potter Exposed?? Everything Lauren writes is excellent and no one does 6th year jily pining quite like her!

And if you’re cool with smut, @efkgirldetective‘s Summer Girl and its sequel Earthquake Drills are gorgeously written, beyond poetic, and filled with love. These fics are incredible. Nothing I say here could do them justice, just know that I’ve never fallen so IN LOVE with a fanfiction in the way I have with Earthquake Drills.

There are so many other incredible authors like @blitheringmcgonagall  (We Can Be Heroes, Wildflowers), @stonecoldhedwig (The Way The Light Looks is beautiful), @clare-with-no-i has endless lovely one-shots and fics, @theroomofreq’s Personality Before Punctuality is a JOY, and @frustratedpoetwrites has a great bakery AU oneshot called The Fabulous Baker Brothers :)

Lily has a Hogsmeade date and James makes the smoothest move I've ever seen, perfect wintery vibes, wonderful jily banter, a pleasure to read

bickering fifth year jily ends up in a broom closet for seven minutes in heaven for a dare, perfect banter, excellent tension, I think about this fic often!

heart-wrenchingly beautiful, somewhat-soulmates!muggle!au that clutched my heart and told me everything was going to be okay, this fic felt like a movie and made me excessively emotional and I still haven't recovered

⁂ Of Breath and Breathing by @corinnesamuels

just an absolute pleasure to read, funny, charming, the most incredible pride and prejudice vibes, Lily works at James's father's company and he finds plenty of excuses to see her, ending with a fantastic fundraising dinner

⁂ Huddle For Warmth by @thejilyship

fem!jily bed sharing fic - the gang goes on a weekend trip where Jamie and Lily end up sharing a room, this fic makes me smile like an idiot and I adore it

⁂ Hazel and Green by @crimson-snitch

counting the times hazel meets green, beautiful, gorgeously written snapshots of Lily and James's lives through the years from the first time they meet to the last time they're together

⁂ Betrayal by @nah-she-didnt

James and Lily are doing rounds as Head Boy and Girl, the Marauders are involved, James is a simp <3 So fun and sweet and I think about this fic often

⁂ The Twenty Third of December by @tumbledfreckles

this is a wonderfully written and touching jily elopment fic - it was one of the first jily wedding fics I'd ever read and has been stuck to my heart ever since, it's so lovely

⁂ and so, they fall by @sunshine-marauders

just the most delicious, flowery language and wonderful imagery, very emotional and raw, another through the years fic in a modern setting and I love it

⁂ Waylaid by @missgryffin

a snowstorm leaves Lily and James stuck at a hotel with *gasp* only one room, a fantastically detailed plot with doctor!james and barrister!lily and there are goats in the kitchen [NSFW]

⁂ this side of the universe (bare & brief) by @emerqldv

childhood friends to lovers, oh gosh this fic tore my heart out and stomped it on the pavement and then put back all the pieces and gave it a big hug - some heavy themes, so check the tags <3

⁂ Wildflowers by @blitheringmcgonagall

gosh this fic owns my heart - so descriptive and darling and touching and then so heartbreaking, makes me want to grow a garden of flowers specifically to pick for Mia

I think everybody’s choice of BEST angst/jealousy MSR fic would be different (and even my own choice would vary by when you ask me). But all of the fics on my jealousy fic rec list are very good.
