Lila Rios was born on July 4th, 1998. She is the youngest of the two Rios children, her brother being four years older than she is.
When Lila turned nine, the family she had known for her entire life erupted into a heated custody battle/divorce between her parents for reasons unknown to her.
On her tenth birthday, she was taken away in the middle of the night without any explanation by her mother. She was scared, confused and listened to her mother when she was told everything would fix their family. They eventually settle in New York City.
After years of constant ‘therapy’ sessions with her mother in private, Lila was eventually convinced that everything in her past life was nonexistent. Soon, the memory of her brother began to fade along with that of her fathers.
When Lila turned seventeen, her mother passes away in a terrible car accident. She is sent to live in a group home until she is eighteen. Shortly after leaving the group home, she stumbles upon a private club and works as an escort for the wealthy.
Champagne, cocaine, and many blurred nights were shared throughout the ages of eighteen-twenty one. It was on her twenty-first birthday that she landed a job as a stripper.
While she hated the life she lived, it was a way to survive. It paid the bills, gave her a roof to sleep under, and put a warm meal in her stomach. She didn’t live in the biggest apartments; in fact, it leaked every time it rained, but Lila took every bill she made and put it towards a savings account.
One night while on her shift, she met a guy. She didn’t know it then, but the guy was going to be the fuel to her nightmares. Pretty soon, they were in a whirlwind of a romance. Toxicity, here she was. Her boyfriend would get overly jealous if she got too much attention; if she missed a call, he would respond by calling her back multiple times in a row; if she couldn’t hang out with him, then she was supposedly cheating, and things only got worse when she mentioned wanting to break things off. The more she pushed away, the more possessive he became.
One night (age twenty-two), without warning, she grabbed the cash she had and packed her stuff up to hit the road. Through much couch surfing and some rather uncomfortable nights in her car, Lila finally makes it to a cute little town by the name of Mapleview. Not, however, before also adding a new companion to her journey in life. A stray dog she met while on the road.
She has been living in Mapleview for one week and works as a waitress at the Sunrise Diner. Her biggest dream is to get a slightly bigger apartment for her and her fur baby and eventually go back to school. Her biggest fear is that her ex will somehow find her and manage to take her back to a life she never wants to return to.
