Unclear path

The concept of friends is one that boggles my mind repeatedly. Family life has always been rocky and unstable. I decided a while ago that you do not get to choose your family but you get to choose your friends. You soul family. I find myself always siting alone after years of time spent with “soul fam”. They always find the fault within me which I often agree to and retreat to adjust. However they fail to acknowledge that they do not look at what they do towards me in order for me to react that way. You would think by now people understand you and your patterns and how you need to be spoken to. I am exhausted in knowing I only care enough about all of it and I realize I’m an idiot. There’s no way I can make people want to adjust or grow. I cannot grow in stagnant energies. My heart has so much love but it’s often always misplaced. Still learning to self love and to pour all that juju back into myself. I love people but they are insanely difficult to deal with, I am so tired of being misunderstood and not being appreciated or liked. I do not believe anyone should live like this. However, after some of the darkest times, there is always light.

Frostbite (Brrrrr!)

I have been Afrodyte for 4 years going on to year 5. That’s like a college degree, and if you were a super senior like me. You realize it’s because you feel a deep need to understand what’s going on. Or make sense of the madness that surrounds you. However, when things make the least sense, it is often a gift. It allows you the freedom to express yourself in various ways. These ways initially may not make much sense to those around you but it’s not for them it’s for you. The way you express yourself does not need to make sense to anyone other than yourself. It is an outlet to express yourself in order to make more sense to yourself. This is the gift of expression. Isn’t that exciting? You get to show the world who you are in an outlet that only makes sense to you. You get to express who you are and how you feel in any way that makes the most sense to your soul. Now whether that be: Dancing, painting, modeling, working out, writing in your journal, singing a tune or simply being still. It’s all needed, we need you to express yourself and let your colors show. It’s all valid and needed. We want to hear you, and no one is alone in this world. However, being alone is always good for reflection and expression.

Frostbite (Brrrrr!) (The name of my latest set.)

The Function with TFares: Episode 048 with Special Guest DJ Afrodyte

Special Quarantine edition of The Function is out now with special guest DJ Afrodyte! While everyone is cooped up at home staying socially distant, Afrodyte and I chopped it up and shared our thoughts on the current global pandemic! She also got to share some of her backstory on learning about music thru dance and having lived around the world while being exposed to a wide range of global sounds.
