"Well, atleast you think that, personally I look like a mess. Hm? Oh, I was busy finishing up a book and I-- wait, no! I wasn't doing anything you're thinking I swear!"

Dark eyes fell upon the ginger, slight grin playing across her lips. Youth in true show of happiness was always best. Seeing the soldier in such a jovial mood relieved the stresses of every day life, even for a moment. Petite soldier entered dining hall, and Zoe gathered her notes into a pile, turned them over to hide them from plain view. She opted to wear facade that she so often did for common soldier. It brought her warmth in a respect.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. You shouldn’t feel ashamed for enjoying yourself or being excited over something you like!” words were entirely genuine, belief she so strongly clung to. It was what made little things easier to put up with, what made daily life less of a hassle. Brunette rose, crumpled papers. They were all pointless anyways. The woman tossed them into wastebasket, muttering a satisfied ‘safe’ when they fell in. Her aim was decent.
“Anyways, let’s get some of that cocoa ready then, huh?” she rubbed her hands together in excitement. “I don’t get to have sweets that often Petra!”
✿—"It's just so rare now a days, I can't believe I was able to afford it" it is pretty sad that the tin can that appeared to be nothing special was the source of joy. For the contents of it came at outrageous amounts that normally where too much for the young soldier to indulge in, perhaps the passing season with its freeze warmed up the heart of the vendors to lower their rates.
Whatever it might be, the intoxication of the powder made her chirp joyously because to Petra happiness came in the security of a warm pot being brewed to share the contents with others. "I remember when it was easier to come by, but then so that was a long time ago plus I figured it beats what we usually drink. We need a bit of sweetness every now and then" chuckling, she gave a little nod smiling up towards the brunet woman.
Hopefully, she hadn't been a bother with the happy little out burst. "I'm sorry, I didn't even ask if you still had work to attend to, I guess my head is a bit off today" impressed by Zoe's aim, she gave a little clap enjoying the casual atmosphere that was always welcomed.
Perking, Petra's hazel eyes lit up as she held the long container up nodding, "we just need to get everything boiling!" this would be fun, in every beverage she tried making there was an attempt to make it delightful but sometimes tea and coffee only went so far. A splash of something different was always welcomed but a luxury? now, that was too much to let pass. "Same, I should try and see if I can haggle with the vendor next time. I know it gets tiring having the same old thing, hopefully this will make on up for it"
