I mean… cause most carnivorous people don’t care about those animals obviously. Very few people in western culture have ever made friends with a chicken or pig. Yet we all know and relate to cats and dogs so when we see someone who looks like a friend to us being eaten it’s disgusting. You want to encourage more people to go vegetarian or vegan? Make farm animals more appealing as pets. The more people emotionally bond with something the less they can eat it. Weirdly tho the opposite is true in cannibalistic cultures. There aren’t many active cannibal cultures in this day and age but traditionally the more a cannibal respects and envies their opponent the more they want to eat them after defeating them.
you dismissing species as being less appealing is your own moral issue, kinda like if you don’t believe cancer exists, you can believe whatever you want, don’t make you right
