Summary: Poor karkitten gets sick and Dave takes care of him.
Notes: Karkats little age is 1 sweep in this. (about 2 human years) also this is my first time writing something like this so only nice criticism.🩷

“DAVE IM FINE I DONT NEED YOU TO TAKE CARE OF ME.” Karkat attempts to say through his coughs. He, in-fact, is not fine. In reality he feels like he was beaten with a stick for 3 hours, but Dave can’t know that or he’ll try to “help” Karkat regress.
“Karkitten your temperature is 110°.” Dave already knows how Karkat has been feeling ‘cause Terezi smelt it and told him. Also Karkat looks like he’s going to throw up. Good thing Dave already has a trash can next to him.
“DAVE…”
“Yeah?”
“THAT TRASH CAN MIGHT BE USEFUL RIGHT NOW”
Dave hands Karkat the trash can just in time for Karkat to empty what little he has in his stomach into it. That’s when Dave noticed Karkat starting to slip. Dave wiped Karkat’s mouth and picked him up all the while shushing him. Karkat’s eyes begin to water, and then he just lets out his tears.
“Shhhhh. Your okay. I’ve got you.” Dave calms Karkat while bouncing him on his hip. Dave walks to the kitchen, prepares a bottle, and brings Karkat to the couch. “It’s okay kiddo.” Dave says while starting to feed Karkat. “There we go buddy. You’re okay” Karkat’s crys turn to sniffles as he drinks the meal replacement.
Dave takes Karkat back to his room and sets him down on the bed. Once Karkat is put down he begins to fuss. “Shhhh, don’t worry I’ll be right back. I’m just getting you a change of clothes.” Dave walks over to the dresser, grabs a crab onesie, a pacifier, and Karkat’s beloved crab lovey. He walks back over to the bed and begins to change Karkat. That’s when Karkat notices the evil pull-up sitting next to him. He squeeks in disapproval.
“Hey, we have a deal. If you’re sick you have to wear a pull-up.” Karkat knows that, but just because he knows it doesn’t mean he likes it.
Dave finishes changing him and holds the pacifier up to Karkat’s mouth. Angrily he takes it all the while grumbling. Dave climbs into bed next to Karkat and holds him to his chest. “Do you want to watch something?” Karkat nods sleepily. Dave picks up the remote and puts on Bluey. Karkat snuggles into Dave and focuses on his cartoon.
“DAVE” Karkat mumbles.
“Yeah?”
“I WUV YOU”
Dave smiles at that. “I love you to kiddo… did you fall asleep?”
