i can just imagine eddie being that boyfriend who gets mad if you open the door for yourself.

like this guy will carry you back to the van and put you in back in there, shut the door and then re-open it.

he will fully sprint down the halls at school to open the doors.

you’d open the door for him and he just stares at you, “are we going or not?”

“close the door.”

“why?” you’d ask teasing him.

“sweetheart i swear to god.”

“come on let’s go,” you’d leave the trailer and eddie would follow after, grabbing you and throwing you over his shoulder.

“nope, not doing this.”

he’d shut the door behind you and then open it again for you, “after you sweetheart.”

Saw someone post this on their feed a couple days ago and I had to get a copy for myself. I love the more in depth look we get with Max and Billy. I've always sympathized with Billy because I was a child of abuse myself, and I saw some of the things he was doing (lashing out, the "I don't care" attitude, and the overall recklessness) and went I was the same way. I remember counting down the days till i could leave and praying i would actually make it to 18, and while I don't agree with certain things he did (cough, cough... Lucas, cough Steve) I do believe his character deserved better. He never really got a chance to exist away from Neil. And this book broke my heart. I know the Billy antis are gonna go "he's racist, abusive, and cruel" and it's true. But he wasn't always that way. We see that and season 3. His father made him that way. I'd suggest the antis read this book and gain some more insight into Max and Billy's relationship, and maybe see him in another light. He needed someone to help him, not condemn him.

I’ve had this idea for the past few days but basically after the Hargrove-Mayfields moved to Hawkins Max notices that Billy always checks the mail. At first she didn’t notice anything strange until Billy would check the mail & return with nothing, but then Neil would come in before dinner he always had a stack of mail in his hand.

Max just writes it up to being one of Billy’s weird quirks. Like how his eyes look so dull and lifeless sometimes, and how he always stares at the front door like he’s waiting for someone to come back during dinner.

Until one day Billy hands her a letter from her dad, and tells her to not let Neil find it. Then she realizes he’s waiting for a letter from someone.

Max doesn’t figure out who Billy was waiting for until a letter arrived three weeks after the fourth of July. It was a letter from his mother apologizing for taking so long to write to him.
