1- the purpose of the riddles was so the sky king can meet/know who Mc was?
2- If the sky king made the riddles to reunite with Mc, how does that work in s1, if they hadn’t met? (why would he go to hotarubi)
3- Is that why he was crying in s1, the ten years were up, he’d be integrated, but maybe like he knew something was missing?
4- The feather of the maiden anomaly? (forgot the name) what was its purpose, meaning?

Let me call him Sky Prince (10 years ago) and Sky King (present day) to make the timeline less confusing.
1. Was the purpose of the riddles just so the Sky King could find MC?
Yes, but not just MC.
The riddles were based on all the festival games and activities that MC and her friends showed the Sky Prince when they traveled back in time. Because of that, only MC and the friends who experienced those memories could truly understand and solve them.
The whole point was to make sure the right people found him, not just anyone. If a random Darkwick student had solved the riddles before MC arrived, it would've defeated the entire purpose.
So the riddles served two purposes:
to reunite the Sky King with the people he met 10 years ago
to ensure only that specific group could reach him
2. If the Sky King created the riddles to reunite with MC, how does that work in SS1 when they hadn't met yet?
This is actually explained in SS2.
The ghouls ask why the Sky King and the Observer didn't simply tell everyone who they were looking for instead of hiding everything behind riddles.
The answer is because, at that point in the timeline, MC and her friends hadn't traveled back yet.
Time travel in Lost Star works like a closed loop. The Sky Prince meets MC in the past, but the Sky King can only remember who she is after that trip actually happens.
Before the time travel, he knows there are people he's supposed to meet, but he doesn't know their names or faces.
Think of it like a canon event (as Lucas refers here as "fixed event"). Until that event happens, those memories can't exist.
That's also why SS1 plays out differently. Since MC and the others never traveled back in that route, they never met the Sky Prince. Without those shared memories, neither side could recognize the other or solve the riddles.
As for why the Sky King specifically chose to travel to Hotarubi, I actually don't think it's that complicated.
My guess is that MC and her friends simply told the Sky Prince about Darkwick and Hotarubi during their time together. They already introduced him to the Star Festival and all the activities, so it wouldn't be surprising if they also mentioned where they came from.
On top of that, the Sky King's civilization is far more technologically advanced than Earth. The Observer can gather information about Earth almost instantly, so if the Sky Prince learned the names "Darkwick" or "Hotarubi" the Observer could easily look them up and locate them.
So when the Sky Prince eventually became the Sky King, he already knew exactly where he needed to go. He traveled to Earth, specifically to Hotarubi, and waited for the day MC and her friends would finally arrive and solve the riddles.
On how he still knows that in SS1 then I'll explain in (3)
3. Why was the Sky King crying in SS1?
I think there are two reasons.
First, even though he couldn't remember MC specifically, he still knew he'd come to Earth for someone important. He could feel that something was missing, but he couldn't figure out what it was.
Second, he knew MC was running out of time because of her curse.
(they told the Sky Prince in the SS2 so maybe his subconscious still remember that)
He can only visit Earth once a year. If that year's festival ended without the riddles being solved, then he'd lose his only chance to find the person he came for before her curse claimed her.
That's why the moment feels so heartbreaking. He knows this might be his last opportunity, but he doesn't understand why he can't find the person he's searching for.
My theory is that integration also plays a role, just like in SS2. If he returned to his planet without fulfilling his purpose, he'd likely be integrated and lose his chance to come back to Earth.
In SS2, after everything is resolved, the Core Matrix allows him to continue observing Earth. That's why he can stay for the rest of the festival and even promises to keep researching MC's curse after he returns home.
4. What's the significance of the Wings of the Heavenly Maiden?
Canonically, it's a rare artifact kept at Hotarubi.
During the Star Festival, it's supposed to be used in the Kagura performance, but it's stolen by the student possessed by the Mask anomaly disguised as Lyca.
In SS1, Subaru mentions that everything lost during the festival was eventually recovered except the wings.
At the end of the event, the Sky King is also recorded as a "lost anomaly." It suggests they always belonged to him.
If that's true, then the wings symbolize the Sky King's protection over Hotarubi.
So in SS1:
the King is lost
the wings are lost
Hotarubi loses his protection
In SS2, the opposite happens. The King is reunited with everyone, keeps the wings, and even promises he'll continue visiting Earth. The report still marks him as "lost" but the ghouls and MC know he'll return. That's basically their little secret.
This next part is just my own theory.
We know someone sabotaged the events of SS1.
If MC and the ghouls failed to solve the riddles, then they would never travel back in time. Without that time loop, the Sky Prince never meets them, so the Sky King has no reason to keep returning to Earth.
In other words, breaking the loop means Earth loses the Sky King's protection.
That would explain why someone tried so hard to prevent everything from coming together in SS1.
In SS2, that sabotage becomes much harder. Dionysia's artisans return, Mio strengthens security, Clockwork anomalies are scattered around the area, and both Tohma and Alan are present during the festival. On top of that, the ceasefire between Vagastrom and Frostheim makes it much more difficult for a spy to interfere.
One more thing I find interesting is the real-world inspiration behind the Wings of the Heavenly Maiden.
In the original legend, a heavenly maiden's robe or wings are stolen, preventing her from returning to heaven.
That makes me wonder if the stolen wings in Lost Star are meant to parallel the Sky King's situation. Without them, perhaps he couldn't properly return home or travel freely between Earth and his planet.
Or, if you prefer a more symbolic interpretation, the wings simply represent the bridge between the two worlds.
In SS1, that bridge is never completed because the time loop fails.
In SS2, MC and the ghouls successfully complete the loop, allowing the Sky King and Earth to reconnect. In that sense, the wings become a symbol of the bond they restored.

If he sees you with someone else, it’s even more crying. He’s scrolling through WickChat and there’s a post of you and some other guy. He throws his phone across the room, maybe even hoping it breaks even if he can’t afford a new one.
He doesn’t know how to move on. Baking is hard, going to all those shops you went to together, it just reminds him of you. He thought that this was the closest he could get to a normal life. At least a break up is pretty normal too. But there’s no way he can just go on missions like this. What’s even the point?

There were so many times you had to convince him when you were together that he wasn’t a monster.

Now I have a vision for this man when it comes to yandere, but it really only applies to MC. What if when her curse gets to her and she’s about to become the Kyklos, he actually hides her away to prevent Hyde from taking her away? And she’s scared, but he comforts her and it's going to be okay. It’s better for her to turn into the Kyklos with him than being locked away in a lab with that asshole (and also… still turn into the Kyklos… the reasoning is sound, trust me!)

1. Taiga & his relationship with Romeo:
It immediately caught my eye this Taiga's conversation with the MC!
The italic font
"Italic fonts" are a different styling of the same font but slightly inclined
This method is mostly used in order to highlight specific piece of information & to show the reader a character's internal thoughts without using quotation marks.
This makes us understand that this delivered line was actually Taiga talking to himself and NOT the MC as if he is trying to "ease" his own pain or "deny" a certain fact.
Another interesting note is that this line was actually mentioned previously in one of VL (Taiga's lvl 23 affinity )
It's as if his line in the ep answered his VL
"what did he tell Romeo" part
With it now meaning
"I told Romeo about my stigma that allows me to see the future.. I warned him about the world ending & his "probable" death"
But what was Romeo's reaction?

❥ Sho and Leo have been friends for a long time, way before they even considered dating. Even though it took them a while to get used to , not much changed between them, besides the fact that they’re simultaneously dating you. They’ve always been somewhat physically affectionate with one another, and they know each other quite well, so it’s more of “putting a label on it” than anything, at first. It didn’t take long till they started doing more couple-y things. Although, Leo would rather be caught dead than doing “cringey” relationship activities, unless it’s for content.
❥ Leo insists that he should be with you and Sho at all times. He’s weirdly clingy, and he’ll never admit that he needs to be around you two. Even if he’s not actually doing anything, he likes the presence. He doesn’t care what either of you are doing, he’ll make himself at home in your laps. The closest thing you get to a “group cuddle” is Leo laying on both yours and Sho’s laps. He says it’s more comfortable to lay on a human bed.
❥ It didn’t take long for you to understand that Leo loves competing against Sho. Leo instigates, and Sho goes along with it for something to do. Sho doesn’t take competition lightly though, he gives it his all to avoid doing Leo’s dirty work for him. Oftentimes, Leo wants to string you along, but Sho protests against it, because Leo doesn’t go easy on his punishments. Sho would feel too bad for you if you lost, he thinks you’re too cute for it.
❥ Sho dotes on you a lot, because of how adorable you are, he makes you a lot of food to the point where you can’t eat anymore. He likes the faces you make when you’re enjoying his food. Leo likes his food as well, but he rarely shows his excitement unless he drowns it with spice. He saves an extra plate, because he knows that Leo will sneak some anyways.
❥ You guys go on occasional collective dates, most of them consist of going out in the city and clubbing. If you don’t like clubbing, they’ll compromise on a couple places that you want to go to. Leo often urges you to dance with him, it’s his way of trying to get you out of your shell. He absolutely will start an argument that turns into a fight if someone is being too pushy towards you. Sho can handle himself if people get pushy, but Leo always takes the opportunity to scrutinize them for being creepy. Other times, you and Sho sit at the bar and have a couple drinks while Leo has his fun, until he eventually gets bored and wants to move to the next location.
❥ The riding situation is unique to say the least… Sho is always the designated driver, but 3 people fitting on a motorcycle isn’t safe. You guys tried it once, and Sho had to ban it because of how much stress it put on Bonnie. Sho has to borrow a car from Alan when you guys go to the city through the underground road system. ``
❥ Sho and Leo aren’t the biggest fans of PDA. You’d have to tell people that you’re in a relationship with the two of them for others to realize. Sho and Leo don’t care if people around campus know, but they won’t tell others about their business.
❥ Because you’re so timid, it’s easy for Leo to drag you everywhere, Sho is never interested in following other people with him. He promises that he’ll pamper you if you “do this one little thing” for him.
❥ Leo is not the easiest person to handle, Sho has a hard time when he gets upset. When you and Leo fight, it’s hard to tell what he’s thinking, because he doesn’t talk about his feelings. Early on in the relationship, you always go to Sho because he knows Leo the best. Sho doesn’t get directly involved because he thinks that it’s between you and Leo, but he gives you a lot of advice so you can handle it yourself. Even then, Leo won’t spill his feelings, but he’ll begrudgingly say sorry and give you a gift if it was his fault.
❥ It’s rare for you and Sho to fight, he doesn’t yell, but he can be dismissive in the heat of the moment. It doesn’t take long before he gets too annoyed, and goes on a ride with Bonnie to clear his head. Sho isn’t the most open with his feelings as well, and Leo doesn’t help much unless either of you are seriously lost with what to do. Leo stays out of it for the most part, but he’ll blatantly tell the other how to make things better. If it’s Sho’s fault, he feels bad for a few days after the fact and he sucks up to you a lot.
❥ Sho and Leo have a lot of disagreements with each other, but it’s rare that they have a full blown fight. Everyone can feel the heated tension if they enter a room with those two in it, it’s thick enough to cut with a knife. You can try and be a negotiator between them, but they individually tell you that it’s their problem to deal with and you shouldn’t worry about it. Sho does his best to ignore Leo, and Leo tries to push his buttons more than usual. Most of the time it fizzles out, but when it’s particularly bad they’ll consult you, and swallow their pride to apologize face to face.

This theory started because @danieyells introduced me to the idea of a connection between Ritsu and Leo. That got me thinking, and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into it.
In Chapter 29, Ritsu recalls a tragic case from his father's files: a man with a son close to his age was brutally killed by the Yakuza.
If we look at the other first-years, we can easily rule them out:
❌ Ren (if i am not wrong he talks about his father in the present tense so i think he is alive), Lyca, Sho
✅ Leo: He fits the profile the most
We know Leo was starving back then. Sho mentions that Leo practically lived off yakisoba buns and milk, and was "skin and bones." This extreme level of povert makes complete sense if his family was targeted by the Yakuza.
Maybe,if that man was his father, He owed massive, unpayable debts to them.
If you choose Leo at the start of the game, his dialogue reveals that he isn't just fighting general injustice, but it looks like if he is almost actively hunting the specific target who ruined his life.
He tells the MC:
"Life sucks then you die, right? I just want to make the assholes responsible regret it."
Also if we look at his full awaking voicelines:
"Their crying faces... I'll show them to honor roll too."
"Because there's no such thing as divine punishment in this world."
Leo knows that the law and "divine justice" failed his father. The Yakuza got away with murder, which is why he took matters into his own hands, made a pact with a demon, and dedicated his life to making "the assholes responsible" pay.
Also the way he gets mad while talking with Alan in episode 19:
LEO: 守りたい? 舐めんじゃねぇっつってんの→ "Want to protect us? Don't make me laugh." 失うくらいなら、自分が犠牲になった方がマシだと思ってる んでしょ? → "You think it's better for you to be the one to sacrifice yourself, rather than lose someone else, right?"(it looks like he understands Alan someway)
LEO:親父が死んだ? ダンテを殺した? → "Your father died? You killed Dante?"
だからこれ以上、誰も失いたくないって? → "ls that why you don't want to lose anyone else?" (Is he talking just about Alan or about himself too?)
言っとくけど、それただの傲慢だから → "I'm telling you, that's just pure arrogance."
修羅場潜ってきてんのが、自分だけだと思っ てんなら大間抜けなんだよ → "If you think you're the only one who has been through 'Shuraba' (hell/battlefield), you're dead wrong."
Why I'm using the original Japanese text: English translations often simplify complex cultural terms. Leo says 'Shuraba'. It's not just 'hell', i did some research and it's a Buddhist term for the 'Asura battlefield,' a state of endless, violent conflict. Choosing the original term captures the weight of his trauma, which is way deeper than a simple 'hard time'.
We know Leo made a contract with the demon Shax to survive. But let's look at his Stigma: Enchanted Hearing.
Stigmas are deeply tied to ghouls' deepest desires, regrets, and core trauma at the moment of making their pact.
Leo's subconscious mind maybe wished for being able to hear danger coming before it could ever touch him...
For now it is just a theory, but the dots are connecting quite well i think...

You squeak a tiny noise, fur puffing up instantly.
He shakes his head.
“You react just like her too.”
He picks you up, bringing your face close to his.
“...Do I really look that scary?”

Tohma’s on the phone.
“Yes. And I’ll take those documents–”
He notices you.
“I’ll call you back later.”
He steps toward you.
“Looks like we have an intruder. I can't have you spilling secrets so I'll have to exterminate you immediately.”
You freeze.
He laughs.
“Pfft. I'm just kidding.”
He crouches down, scratching your ear.
“That reaction…you remind me of a particular someone.”

You pop out of the bushes. Kaito shrieks.

But when he realizes it's just a cat AND it happens to look exactly like you, he steps closer.

He gives you a gentle smile.
“It's dangerous here, you know.”
Lucas pats his forehead with a towel before crouching down.
He gently checks around your neck for a collar.

He picks you up.

He looks down. From this angle, he looks like a giant.
Alan glances around, as if to make sure no one’s watching, then drops to his knees.
He searches through his pockets, then takes something out.

He watches you sniff it unappetizingly and frowns.
“Wait a second. I'll get something else.”
He comes back with a strip of chicken.

He stares for a while before a smirk spreads across his face.
He opens his camera and snaps a picture. And another. And another. “I've gotta post this. You look just like her. Right down to that dumb expression~”

Sho looks out the food truck and spots you.
He ducks down, grabs something, then comes out.

You refuse it.

He chuckles as he pets your head.

But he gets distracted, staring at you face.
He pets you with a wide smile.

He scoops you up and hugs you tight against his chest.

His voice drops.

He tries to resume but you climb right back on like a menace.

He stops. His eyes narrow.
“...Senpai?” He shakes his head.
“What am I saying? There’s no way.”
But this time, he simply scoots you to the side instead of pushing you off the desk.
“Fine. You can stay here. Just don’t bother me.”
In between matches, he may or may not run his fingers through your fur.

He crouches down, picks you up by the scruff of your neck, and brings your face close to his.

“You look a bit tasty. Are you an anomaly?”
You shake your head aggressively.
“Gyahaha! No way you really responded.”
He sets you down before giving you a rough pat(?) on your head.
“Don’t worry, eating kitty-cats aren't my thing.”
Romeo
“Huh? What is a cat doing in the casino?!”
Romeo storms down the stairs and stops in front of you.
“Which of you WTWUT let it in…”
His voice trails off as he gets a good look at your face.
“Sorry Romeo.” His underling immediately grabs you.
You yowl.
“Hey! Don’t be so rough with it!”
He shakes his head with a sigh.
“Bring it to my room. It might be useful later.”
Ritsu
“Meow.”
Ritsu looks up from his book.
“What is a cat like you doing in a library?” He asks, as if you could answer.
“I suppose there’s no specific rule prohibiting animals from entering. In fact, there are anomalies that work here as well. So don’t worry, I will not escort you out.”
He goes back to his book. But every so often, he steals glances of you.
Finally he asks:
“...May I pet you?”
(I feel like Ritsu was probably never allowed to have pets– like has never even pet one before. So he's curious what it feels like.)
𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐇𝐄𝐈 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐙𝐎𝐍𝐎 (that is that is the title of my post)
Now that I've read the latest episode and heard Sho say something to MC, I can't stop thinking about it. I won't say exactly what he said, but if you're curious, you can check out my spoiler post.
I wonder if the fact that he knows how to do so many things, whether they're big, small, random or practical, like he's basically the king of multitasking, combined with his background and the way he talks about it, means he grew up in a strict environment with really high expectations. Especially when it comes to education and social etiquette. He did call his family "new money" after all, so it's easy to see why his parents would want to mold him into the perfect child to fit into that kind of society.
As for why he said [SPOILER], I feel like it has something to do with Hyde. The fact that Hyde went to Darkwick before and now works for the Institute says a lot. Either Hyde is incredibly smart, the golden child type, or he was the first child their parents placed all their expectations on. The successful kid they were proud of.
That probably put a lot of pressure on Sho because his parents wanted him to be just as successful as Hyde. At the same time, I can also see them neglecting Sho emotionally. Maybe they were emotionally unavailable parents.
As for how Hyde saw all of this, we really don't know. But I don't think their relationship is THAT bad. Sho has made a few comments about Hyde, yet he still goes along with whatever plan Hyde has. That tells me he either trusts Hyde to some extent or just can't bring himself to refuse his older brother. Either way, it makes me think the tension between them came from outside circumstances rather than the two of them simply not getting along.
I just think Sho still respects Hyde deep down. That's why he's willing to go along with Hyde's plans. Not just because they're brothers, but because he still has faith in him somehow. Of course, we don't know for sure.
As for Hyde, we barely know anything about this man. I can't say much, but I do think he cares about Sho deep down. Whatever his plan is, if it could save thousands of people, then... Iykyk sometimes people have to make difficult choices. Hyde gives me the impression that he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice a few people if it meant protecting many more. Sometimes sticking to your principles just isn't an option.
And we learned Sho's eye color in this episode, which gives us a little more insight. Based on the Hyde sprite that Dannie datamined, it looks like Hyde and Sho have the same eye color. So there's a good chance that's Hyde's eye color too.

Iolite is a stunning naturally violet-blue gemstone that's best known for its mesmerizing color-shifting properties. It's the gem quality variety of the mineral cordierite and is loved for its rich indigo hues, affordability, and the fact that its color is naturally occurring rather than artificially enhanced.
Its most famous characteristic is its strong pleochroism. Depending on the angle you look at it, iolite can shift from deep violet-blue or grayish-blue to pale yellow or even completely colorless.
Fun fact: Ancient Viking sailors were believed to have used thin slices of iolite as a polarizing filter to locate the sun on cloudy days.
I spent way too much time trying to find the right gemstone that matched Hyde's eyes because I wanted to write something about him. For the longest time, the closest match I could find was tanzanite. But the more I looked into it, the less satisfied I was. Tanzanite tends to lean more toward violet-purple than the deep blue I imagine for Hyde's and Sho's eyes.
Unlike many popular blue gemstones, such as sapphire or tanzanite, iolite's color is naturally occurring and rarely requires heat treatment. I think that's part of why it feels like a better fit to me. Tanzanite has always looked just a little too "artificial" for how I picture their eye color, while iolite has a much more natural, muted blue that matches my image of Hyde and Sho much better.
Tbh, I think tanzanite actually suits Hyde more, while Sho is iolite because of the meaning and characteristics of each gem. However, when it comes to color, I feel like iolite has that rough edge, while tanzanite comes across as more polished ✨
