Frank laughed and winked at her. âWell then by all means, mess with me.â He teased, wiggling his eyebrows before clearing his throat in anticipation of her answers. She had some similarities to his own answers but for the most part, they seemed quite different. Frank was a firm believer that opposites did attract and he and Lilith couldnât be more opposite if they tried. She liked bad boys, Frank was a gentleman. Girls like her would never have given him a chance in high school and yet she was the same kind of girl he would have crushed on. It was almost like every cliche rom-com/teen movie that had been developed in the past 10 to 15 years. But it was there story and he wanted to see it play out, no matter the outcome. âHmm, okay. Well my favorite color is orange, my favorite food is anything Italian, How was I as a child? Hmm, well, I was a bit of a loner. I was home schooled. I would study for 5 hours and then it was 5 hours of training, supper, 2 hours of fun and then bed. I told you my life was boring.â He shrugged, running a hand through his hair. âNot glamourous but its all I know. For all the loneliness, it made me smarter and more observant.â
âIts a thin line between hurting someone and not hurting someone. I mean, I would never tell someone they looked fat in their clothes but I also wonât lie and tell you that its the right choice. I think of it as a way to keep them from getting hurt later on by someone who wouldnât be so nice. Some people canât pull off orange or purple and Iâm going to suggest something different. They can choose to take it or leave it.â He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. âAnd on the other end of the spectrum, donât tell me youâre cheating on your girlfriend or wife and not expect me to say anything. I feel like by telling me, youâre giving me permission to tell them. Sure it would hurt but they donât need to keep believing that everything is going fine in their life.â He finished, looking over at her and chuckling, shaking his head. âIâm just being myself. Iâm no Prince Charming but that doesnât mean I canât try.â Frank laughed, grinning to himself. âMost girls want bad boys and I just canât be that guy. Iâm sure thereâs someone out there for me. I have time to look.â He smiled, looking over at her. âYes. You totally took my first kiss.â He lied, crinkling his nose. âIâm kidding. You did take my second kiss though. My first kiss belongs to Riley. We were neighbors. And also 8 years old. We saw my dad do it with his current fling and we got curious. It was my favorite until now.â
âFrancis, youâre quite the flirt.â Lilith laughed, letting the sand beside them run through her fingers with a small smirk. She could admit she was quite the flirt as well, but she got that side from her father. He could charm anyone he wanted. Could have them wrapped around his finger before throwing them away like he did most people. How he got with her mom? She didnt know. Amara Aquilla was a very strong woman, and she supposes that he saw her as a challenge. To this day she still is. She listened to his answered and raised an eyebrow. âWell, ill just have to make up for all the fun you missed out on, Mr. Barton.â Lily said with a devious look in her eyes.
As he talked about how truthful he was, she realized how much she wasnt. A lot of the things out of her mouth were lies, but she did tell secrets that others told her if she didnt know them very well. It was quite easy to get people to trust her. When they did, they told her everything. It was strange that she could know that something she was doing isnt good, but she couldnt control it. âYouâre a sweet guy. I would hate to rub the bad from me off on you. Taint the good. That would be a shame.â There was a teasing tone to her voice, but she didnt mean it. Yes, she wasnt as bad as a lot of people. But she still parties, got drunk, and did questionable things without guilt. But she had a wonderful mom who did teach her some self control. âOh thank god. A first kiss should be so much sexier than that. And im glad that i can beat an 8 year old in kissing.â She laughed.
