Announcement!

For those not in the know, I run a spicy webcomic called Our Fierce Differences that follows the romantic tale of Kaede and Kor, two unlikely partners in a strange world. It's a story about love, finding yourself, war and huge bitey fangs - a monster love story at its heart. 🔥🔥🔥

I have been for the last two years putting most of it on Patreon. Publically it is on Webtoon and Tapas currently, however it is heavily edited to meet the standards on there and honestly, I think the story suffers for it. So I wanted to have a central place where people could always go to - thus I've launched my website!

Right now I'm starting from the very start, so there are limited pages on the website. However I'll be updating twice a week going forward, and ya'll can read it on my Patreon if you want to read 200 pages ahead. (and also support me if you like my stuff)

This is a story really dear to me and I put everything I have into it. I've always wanted to write something that explored consent, body positivity, LGBTQ+ identities in a way I wish I had when I was a younger adult. I'd love for others to enjoy it!

Thank you for making the website version, btw!!! The webtoons version suffers so much because of censorship!!!

Thank you so much! I mainly use the webtoon version for advertising moreso then anything but it pains my little heart to see the censorship cut through the story which is really about accepting your sexuality and navigating consent. There's so much that has been cut to meet the censors, and the story definitely suffers for that. Everything has to be 'implied' so scenes like below are darkened, or the text has to be edited, which really cuts through the point of Kor desiring Kaede but knowing he shouldn't but I can't outright say that though it's obvious to everyone what's happening that he's imagining being with her.

Our Fierce Differences, to me at least, exists in this weird liminal space where it is erotic, the themes are about eroticism but fucking isn't a large part of the story. This makes it feasible to exist on webtoon, but it defiintely undercuts the themes when I can't say directly that 'these characters want to fuck' but I can't show that.

do you have a specific update schedule for the ofd website? also, why do updates take so long? i mean this genuinely, its not a problem for me since im already caught up on the webtoon ver, but im curious if you have to change the format or do extra work in some way to post the pages on the website vs. webtoon

The pages that you see on the website are the originals. The webtoon IS the edited version.

The reason I post two per week is because that's the standard webcomic format and each page is about 20-30 hours of combined work alone. Making a comic is exceptionally hard and time-consuming, so most webcomics post at max twice a week.

I just want to say I've been happily reading OFD for a while now, but I've only just noticed that Kor is *constantly* curling his tail around Kaede and I LOVE IT. Re-read the whole comic to see when it started and to see it happening pretty consistently. It kind of makes it seem like he feels protective over her. Looking forward to more and seeing how things develop.

I'm so glad people are noticing this! Their kind speak a lot of their emotions through their tails so you'll notice the tail curl around her becomes closer over time.

I keep seeing around every time Kaede's (childhood past) comic panel comes up of her mother telling her to stay "pure" and commenters beleive the way she (Kaede's mother) talked to young Kaede sounded she got SA'd while she was or before a concubine. Wanted to ask you if it's true that happened to her. I'm only curious I hope I didn't come out aggressive asking this! ^^;

So just to give some context, Kaede’s culture values purity, which is about staying chaste, honest and conforming. Everyone carefully follows the tenets of their religion and those that don't tend to be ostracised. Kaede’s mother here is more concerned that her daughter will be treated like her, an outcast who came to village from a brothel in the larger cities, so she wants her to be proper and marry 'pure' so she won't be treated badly.

It's left vague for both Kaede and the audience on the topic of SA. However I will note that people in her position, born at a brothel as a mixed race had little option other then to be a concubine.

Kaede’s mother and father did have a loving sweet relationship however when Kaede’s mother moved back to the mountain villages.
