Oil painting in progress on a hard gesso board. The gesso surface is so smooth I can wipe paint off with linseed oil and go back to the original surface. I really want a smooth surface and have been frustrated by brush marks. New technique discovered! I simply pat the paint with my fingers making it smooth.
