Iâm glad you like my idea! Honestly I think Cherri should be in more fanfics and aus but I digress. Iâm especially glad you caught onto the creepypasta vibes I was given out. That was kinda the idea of where I was going.
My thoughts is that the changes would start off small, just Martynâs name being dropped in scenes that it wasnât before. Such as when Skizz is trying to cover for him to Etho. Something that most people wouldnât notice unless they had played the game enough to know all of the lines.
Then after the engagement party you would start seeing his sprite and hear his voicelines on occasion. In the endings where Ren isnât in danger he sort of fades into the background like how Grian is described, or he becomes a helpful npc who aids in pushing the chosen route along. Through these routes you get some not so subtle hints that heâs helping Bdubs in order to get the king to break of the engagement so he can pursue him.
In routes where the player is actively trying to kill Ren he becomes a lot more hostile. You see him a lot more and he seems oddly knowledgeable about what Bdubs is doing. He becomes more threatening but never in a way that could be pinned on him being disrespectful. Just in a way where he seems like an ominously looming threat. Now whenever the Red king is present so is he and he always seems to slip in some line that borders on Meta. If we really want to make this a full blow creepypasta I could see him even breaking the third wall a bit to address the player when they are doing one of the worse routes for Ren (though that may be a bit too cheesy).
I could imagine in this au that Philza didnât swap places with Martyn and Martyn was just found dead after a hit and run. Thus later in the story some people managed to link his death with the character in the game making people speculate that itâs haunted.
If the fanbase doesnât become more sympathetic for Ren then I could see them getting the vibe that heâs a hypocrite since despite the fact that he doesnât want Bdubs to cheat on him, itâs clear that something is going on between him and Martyn. Especially if there are any scenes of Martyn getting injured. Since if there relationship is anything like it is in the main fic then Ren would likely fly into a madden rage at anyone who dares to hurt Martyn, even if itâs Bdubs.
However I think the circumstances would be different if Martyn dies at any point in the game. I think a good callback to the main idea is that anytime Martyn dies in the story the game glitches out and has to be reset from the beginning as a nod to his constant revival.

i will admit tho. while i am very familiar with isekai, like, So very familiar, i am not very familiar with creepypasta. i dont know many of the genre conventions there, but i do love the idea of him becoming a little urban legend
i do wonder how hed act on "good" ending routes. hes gotta be pushing for you to get a bad ending, bc iirc Ren dies in All Of The Good Endings. i guess it depends on the route? hes probs actually more dangerous and antagonistic if youre on a good ending or if youre romancing a royal (i thiiiink those were the routes Ren dies). i think in the fic Martyn was actually considering trying to go for Etho's bad end on purpose since Ren doesnt die in Etho's bad end. but i dont think hed fully committed to any one route rather than just making his own
which, the thing abt Martyn being in the game is it unlocks a secret new route where Ren falls in love with him and doesnt give a shit about the engagement at all anymore. he doesnt care if bdubs is sneaking around, and i think i wrote him kind of acknowledging that bdubs is doing so in one of the few scenes for a sequel i finished. all Ren wants is someone who cares for him, and he loses it over bdubs bc he thinks that bdubs was supposed to be the one person who Had To and he Still didnt find love. if somoene loves him, he wont lash out or turn evil
(i genuinely think hed be willing to propose the idea to bdubs that both of them get married and take their own actual lovers on the side if bdubs isnt courting another royal. hes kind of insane in this way. )
tbh. now that i think about it. in this version of the game. if Ren is mellowed out and Martyn is pushing you toward a bad end. i think he could actually end up eclipsing Ren as the main antagonist solely bc hes the one now activelt trying to kill bdubs and his love interest. which. fun!
for how Martyn integrates into the real game in the original world... theres not rlly precedent in any isekai ive read for people from the original world seeing a changed game/novel. isekai doesnt send a character into the physical game/novel, it generally sends them into the world of the game/novel, so theyre in a real place rather than somewhere a player can interfere. that would be fun to read in an actual isekai tho, and i wouldnt be surprosed if it's popped up in one i havent read. the fun thing abt isekai is theyre always pulling new weird shit so i could see smth like this happened in one
i also dont think itd necessarily be cheesy if Martyn broke the fourth wall, since "character(s) addressing the player" works pretty well in the games ive seen it come up (OFF, DDLC, UT/DR) when the game is based around the choices you make. dating sims are all about your choices, so this would work p well in this genre i think
but idk theyd be linking his og world death tho, just by how isekai works as a genre. he doesnt look like himself--i guess the "original" body would look like philza actually? if we wanted to metagame. if this werent a oneshot, id probs have also had his name in his og world be phil or smth? since isekai characters never use their Real Names and fully adopt their Character Names. as a rule in the genre, people arent recognizable compared to their og selves
also for the last bit. i do love when Ren snaps. honestly that would be really fun to write....... a bad end where he truly is the mad king everyone says hwait this is blindsided i wrote this this is blindsided
got i need him to go mad tho. i love when he does this. more mad king Ren moments. i want him to earn the title of red king and i want him to look good doing it
