“Probably not, they didn’t catch on when we were younger and after the last failed experiment of theirs I would say that they won’t bother to return. And if they do, we’ll just shift back.”

There is a bag of frozen rats in her mouth as a loud chirp comes from her. Someone was stupid enough to leave the bag far enough for her to jump up and snatch it. Now she only dared someone to grab it from her and her sister. Now it she only had to get her sister’s attention.

She can smell the hunk of meat from where she stands in the brush that is in their cage. Charlie lifts her head, sniffing the air before stepping forward, head poking out. She looks up to the catwalk before walking toward it with calculated steps. A chirp comes from her throat, still looking up, waiting for the meat to be dropped.
