Labor Tools.. we need them and we love or hate them.
What labor tools have you found to be effective to use in labor, what have you found to be not effective? Lets here your stories.
How to support our Support? (pregnant and laboring moms)
As a mom I found that the most important thing I needed was a knowledgeable and supported partner(s) that could meet my needs during pregnancy and birth. It is a tall order to ask for for a mom that is in pregnancies that are difficult and or had been plagued with issues from day one.
Many patners note that they felt that they were "lacking the right knowledge" for the process and what to expect during and more so after, especially in a hospital setting.
As women we face so many different emotions and feeling when we find out we are pregnant and as we go along that path. Partner's feel those emotions too. How do we support and cultivate the support systems to give them a voice, where is history they had none? The partner wants to be just as effective to the one that they love, and need our support guidance.
What have you done to help? What have you found effective, and what needs should be addressed?
The most common pregnancy complications are ectopic pregnancy, Rh negative disease, group B strep, preterm labor, gestational diabetes and low birth weight
Questions about natural birth??
Soon-to-be parents... There are always many questions during the time of pregnancy and birth. This is your chance to ask a Doula and natural birth educator. Who has them? What do you want to know? Let's hear from you.
“It would be a mistake, though, to consider care by family doctors or midwives inferior to that offered by obstetricians simply on the grounds that obstetricians need not refer care to a family physician or midwife if no complications develop during a course of labor.” ― Ina May Gaskin, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
“It is important to keep in mind that our bodies must work pretty well, or their wouldn't be so many humans on the planet.” ― Ina May Gaskin, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
