I don't want to be a snitch but I found these three cow children on the road, adventuring, completely unchaperoned.
As I drove past I was like girls I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be going where you're going and one after the other they glanced at me insolently like mind your OWN business
Six weeks later I would like to announce that the baby cow friends are still adventuring!
But I solved this mystery. Here's their family:
They are from a little herd that goes home on their own every evening; their pasture gate is open so they can leave at milk o'clock and follow the road towards the building where they spend the night. (At least that's my hypothesis since I saw the whole herd leaveāit was possibly a mass escape. But I don't think so, it looked pretty routine-y and I saw the lead cow veer left towards a distant building.)
The cow children take advantage of the adults being busy at milking time and continue following the road all by themselves for a little whileāthen they hurry home to the barn before things get too dark and scary.
Look at this baby pretending to be a fearless wild bison with no curfew even though her mum is right around the corner
I didn't mean to curtail their adventure but my car window was half-open for Pandolf to stick his head out of, and when he barked a couple of times the fearless wild bison decided they wouldn't mind being safe in the barn with their mums actually

Loving my walk to work recently, despite the cold. Theres a big duck flock that lives here in the warm seasons, I can't wait to show you guys all the babies next year.
The hens spend the day in the pasture with the llamas and they have a gentlemenās agreement that they get to look for insects in llama manure and shelter under a llama in case of hawk (well I hope they would do that.) So itās understandable that the llamas expect something in return. But every day I open the coop and itās just more enigmatic brown pebbles that they canāt eat. Their patience is wearing thin.
A wood thrush was singing near the mossy spring in the woods at the end of town this morning. š¶
A post from May. I love the sound of thrushes singing.
