This morning I worked with the technicians putting the seating bank. We collected all of the necessary resources including the scaffold, the 23 bits of steel deck and the bolt box and started to clear the room and put up the big seating bank. Once we'd put up the structure we broke for lunch. After lunch I went up to Nicky with jade to get a locker as we're no longer allowed to use the stage management office or the design room and I didn't get one last year, so as it was the first day I figured it was necessary. Amelia gave us a envelope of keys and said that they'd given up on our lockers because most of them are bent, broken or lock-less. Me and jade quickly sorted out which keys were what, organised all of the spare stuff and abandoned lockers so that they were as useful as possible. I think this was a good use of our time as that will benefit us for the rest of the year and anyone who need spare steelys or paint Clothes. I then went on a hunt for any the Stalingrad information I could savage. I found the prompt copy and all my old work after some hunting in Louise's office. I then had to go and find somewhere I could work during this show as I was told even though I am DSM for this show I was NOT allowed to work in the stage management office. I ended up organising the desk facing he studio in the control room as its the only last place actually in the theatre I can work apart from costume which has no signal and so not useful if you need to be reached. I need to find out more about what was actually going on with the show as all i had been told from the stage manager is that i needed to be in rehearsals but that she was unaware about any rehearsals. I then went to Marie to see what she needed to know from the directors, in regards to cast changes and rehearsal schedules. I found Robbie and he told me the changes; Dave, Neriga, Claire, Ryan, Chloe; all of these people have left. I also found out that there will be three read throughs; one will be just for the directors, myself, and the Stalingrad company, the second for all technicians, and the third for all the other acting companies. This is to let the actors practice they're performing skills after the summer and hopefully allure all technicians and actors not working on the show to come and watch it. After I went to Gavin who's currently working with the actors to find out when rehearsals actually start. I found out that 6 actors had lost their scripts which need replacing and that 3 actors who just joined the company also needed scripts. The actors that lost them would have to pay a fine to get a new one. I spent the afternoon chasing scripts to find the final edit and had to wait for Gavin to email it to me which meant I couldn't print til the morning.
