#So I was thinking about that secret scene in WR (not required) where at the first mice puzzle you can say “proceed” after her repeated #requests and then she is left with the only choice to run across the puzzle nervously #It almost feels like the “proceed” option came from Kris’s repressed bitterness frustration or even jealousy towards Noelle’s helplessness #despite them (or even as a result of) insisting on protecting her/keeping the truth away from her & burdening everything alone.#Which is why I think the “proceed” option & thus WR only appears for Noelle because it’s all about Kris’s unhealthy way of dealing with #grief & the secret plan with Carol #& their strained relationship with the holidays that they never intended to examine & thus all the unintended consequences #because you can’t keep repressing all your stress & issues forever. I’m rlly starting to think perhaps WR was supposed to be like “imagine doing UT’s GE with the intention to bring back Asriel, but in the process having to abuse & sacrifice toriel & asgore, ttp where you start questioning is it worth it or even for a good cause”

But sadly since the game’s switched to an episodic release, this experience may forever be lost to us since we all discovered & played WR for the thrilling creepypasta & horror experience in ch2 with the expectation of being the villain since the start, and consequently only started speculating the route’s agenda as we go on.

Though I also kinda think this concern is unnecessary, cuz the very fact that Toby decided to switch the game to an episodic release is probably because the different player mentality & expectation wouldn’t make a huge difference in experiencing this game to him. Like UT GE definitely shouldn’t be played before completing PE for spoilers but to him, DR could get a pass.

Honestly this also enriches the theme of obsession with bringing back the past & the unattainable (blue rose cough cough), like what Kris & Carol have been doing with Dess, but we bring it to the most unfathomable cruel extreme, abusing & sacrificing the ppl at present
