hi, software developer here.

at its core, vercel is a platform that developers can use to deploy applications. this means, they allow you to build AI-native applications by enabling you to use AI in their AI SDKs. however, it's primarily used for accessing AI models to generate textual content/data and interpreting data (as seen here). this also means you can most definitely also have non-AI-generated projects deployed there.

i also took a quick look through the project app page's HTML code (on chrome desktop, right click, select "View Page Source"), and there were no imports of any ai modules. unless the op uses github copilot or the equivalent (which is genAI, but its learning dataset comes from public repositories and open source projects), i would not say that this specific project uses AI.

saying that "all projects deployed on this platform must be using AI and should not be interacted with because there is a possibility of them using their AI SDK" is like saying "all developers who use the Visual Studio Code IDE must be using AI and their apps should not be interacted with because there is a possibility of them using code completion/compilers with AI built in/Github copilot equivalent". and that logic is flawed.

since everyone may not be familiar with what Visual Studio Code IDE is, in simpler terms, it's one of the most common code editor tools you could use to write programs these daysー so think of what notion or google docs or obsidian or ellipsus are to us writers. would you accuse a writer of using AI if they use notion to write? would you say that only writers who use ellipsus should be supported? how do you know that writers who use ellipsus aren't using chatgpt to brainstorm ideas? should we hold tumblr staff accountable and demand to know if they're using agentic/genAI to build their code and deployment process? should we leave this platform if they said yes?

as i understand, with our current state of technology and the boom of AI where everyone is hopping on the trend to slap 'AI' on everything just to look like they're "keeping up with tech", this is a whole can of worms that's within a grey area, and it is not something so black and white. i'm not saying that you're wrong in trying to warn people about this, but i'm just putting in my two cents for considerations. as a developer, i don't think it's fair to declare that this project uses AI just because the platform it's deployed in provides AI-related SDKs.

judge as you wish with this knowledge, and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong about how vercel is using AI, i am always open to being corrected!
