Thinking about the awkward moments within a connection. The lulls in conversation. The silent glances to check if you hurt or offended or upset with your words. The eye contact that feels a little too exposing but you look anyway and don't speak about it. The moments you don't know what to say but you know you want to maintain the connection in the moment. When you tell a joke or a story and it doesn't land so you have to reiterate. When you misunderstand what was trying to be conveyed. When you hear or understand someone wrong so you begin speaking about something they weren't talking about at all. Feeling immense love for a person and the connection you're cultivating so you let your eyes linger a little too long and maybe get caught. These are the moments that matterrrrr! Being able to be a messy human with another messy human. And still choosing to care, to love, to continue to show up even after these moments happen. And to show up and care and love knowing they will probably happen again. It's all a part of the beauty of the connection. It actually feels really authentic and beautiful to me to get to have those moments with people.
