Inspired by a period when I was living in Uganda, I'll bring these memories where the light presented numerous interruptions. Living with numerous candles next to the bed was usual and common. I try to bring closer these memories and I try to construct a bedside table, homemade, as the one that I used to have. On top of it, I present numerous candles, but some of them, are made in plaster through molds. This special candle, has inside wick that allows you to turn it on the candle, but, without the presence of the wax, the candle is consumed very quickly, barely in a few seconds. I present this quick action in conjunction with the objects, which invites us to get closer to understanding what is happening to them. This plaster candle has the same color as the wax candles, making more complicated the difference between them more. I try to present this piece in the most natural way, trying to focus on the material, trying to alter as few as possible these elements, focusing on the meaning, and trying to create a clean and minimalist art piece. This piece also has references in relation to the religion and the altars present in churches, something really common in Uganda. The powerful meaning of the representation of candles through art history and the craft of making candles is also an inspiration to create this piece.
