I'm not going to lie. I thought about leaving, only because of Niklas. He'll always be my sire whether I like it or not, but I don't want to be around him. I heard he left though so I can finally breathe easier, and Nathan means too much to me anyway to just bail on him. So wait... you're back at the Chateau? He never returned, huh? Damn it. I'm sorry to hear about that. You don't deserve to be in there.

Oh, did you have a nice time? A-are you leaving again then? Or do you plan on staying?

It was... interesting. A little emotional, but not a bad time. I'm pretty much here. Like I could be without Nathan anyway, and all those he's introduced me too. I feel like I have a whole new family, which means a lot to a guy who hasn't had a family in roughly over 200 years.

It's good to know that you're at least okay. I've been doing well myself. Just been staying under the radar. I just got back to the city a few days ago. Spent some holiday time in Virginia, where I'm from. I can never spend too much time away from Nathan though. Are you... you're back at the Chateau? Or you're claimed?

For the first time since I can remember I know what it feels like to be happy, I lost my brother but gained a sister, and at the end of it all I feel like something is wrong because this has never happened before! I clearly can’t even talk to the one person I should be able to tell anything because my socialization is off due to my warped childhood. Just— How can you even think I’d want you to leave? You can talk to me about anything, but when you talk about how you can't handle change as much as you thought you could... I'm the biggest change in your life right now. So....

I know you're hurting and I'm not at all saying you're not entitled to feeling that way. I'm just saying this isn't your fault. I know what you're used to, Nathan, but not everyone wants to leave you. Not everyone wants to use you. I'm not going anywhere and I know you won't either. I'm sorry I even said that. I'm sorry. It's just my own insecurities, but I trust you and I love you. I'll help you through this, Nathan.

It has everything to do with it, Lincoln. This world, our rules, our lives, it’s not like what you find out there. We live by a different set of codes and morals than them. Here, they’re sold as pets, used as cattle or even just pure amusement…what human would want a monster like me, like any of us?

Don’t you dare blame yourself for this. It was wrong of me to think I could handle so much change in such a short time. I’ve been alone my entire life and now— Now I just don’t know who or what I’m becoming. For the first time I feel conflicted as to how I should act because this, all of this…it’s never happened before. Don’t you get it? People don’t stay around with me. They take what they want and then they leave. They always leave.

Do you really think I don't know what they go through? Damn it, Nathan, this place was new to me. I went by different morals and different codes. You met me and I was wearing a suit to Club Desires because I didn't know any better. It was hard for me to adapt and at times it's still hard for me adapt but you don't see me tucking my tail and leaving and I'm a drifter. I don't stay in one place more than just a few weeks at a time but I've been here. I have the perfect excuse to leave because of Niklas. But I've been here, Nathan, and I'm staying and that's because of you. You're the one that has taught me how to adapt here... so don't tell me these things as if I'm just a normal one in this city because I'm not. I'm the exception to everything here.

But what are you saying here, Nathan? Do you... do you not want this anymore with me? I didn't realize this was such an inconvenience. I don't... I don't know what else to say.

Being human has nothing to do with it. Yeah, it's hard here for a human but what he's really guilty of is not recognizing what he had going for him. How much easier he had it than others. And how much others who have it unbearable with their own Masters would have given just to be in his shoes. He was very well taken care of and he took you and your kindness for granted at the end. That's what he's guilty of. But you know, now that I think about it... maybe it's my fault. I've taken a lot of your time from them. Maybe I'm the greedy one in this. I don't know. But I know that this isn't your fault.
