Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in Blue Towelling Robe No. 2, enjoying my first cuppa of the day.
Welcome to Monday although, for those of you working in the NHS, welcome to just another day.
Many thanks to everyone that listened to ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’, The Letter L (Part Six). Executive Producer Nimesh Patel brought his wife, his son and lots of delicious, cooked food! We love those kind of guests! Meeting the Mi-Soul listeners is always a pleasure and the executive producers always enjoy their day in the studio. No executive producer next week, just me playing with myself.
Straight after the show, The Trouble and I met up with some very beautiful people, and shared lunch and drinks and conversation and laughs. What a lovely way to spend my Saturday afternoon! The first thing I consumed was a cold glass of Amstel in one of those tall glasses. That really hit the spot!
On Saturday evening, like all of us, I was glued to the telly watching the England game. Another great performance! Unfortunately, this is where it ends. Sadly, football is riddled with corruption and, when we play Argentina, you will experience how bad it has become. Just ask Cape Verde, just ask Egypt, just ask Switzerland. Every decision went in Argentina’s favour. In the next game, if England begin to dominate, decisions will start to go against us (yellow cards, red cards, penalties etc.) Sad but this is the current state of football.
Sunday afternoon, I popped down to the SMARF (Soul Movement Against Racism & Fascism) event at The White Lion. A clutch of DJs had donated a little of their time for a good cause. It’s important we come together and fight against this dangerous propaganda. It’s the old ‘divide & conquer’. They want us to believe it’s black vs. white but, as ever, it’s just haves vs. have-nots. The rich want to convince us that immigrants are to blame for everything! Immigrants did not privatise energy and more than double my energy bill!
Have a marvellous and momentous Monday. I love you all.
Reach.
'The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music' starts at 1.00 p.m. The Letter L (Pt. 6). Executive Producer: Nimesh Patel. Your education continues. http://mi-soul.com online + on DAB Plus across London & Brighton. Big-up Mi-Soul Radio + big-up the amazing John Leech (absolutely killing it on Mi-Soul right now!)

Wow! Here we are again: Friday! Where did that week go? No, seriously, where did that week go?

A casual observer probably wouldn’t notice but our house is getting tidier. We are all making an effort to de-clutter and the house now looks tidier. The good consequence of this is that the cleaner now has more room to work in. Yes, we have a cleaner. Yes, I know we’re bourgie bourgie.
In fact, not only do we have a cleaner, but I have also found a gardener! Our tiny, postage stamp garden is VERY green but it makes the Amazon Jungle look like a plant pot! Anyway, before we hit Autumn, a gardener is coming in to make order.
I like order. I like things to be neat and tidy. People look at all my records and CDs and are quite shocked when I tell them they’re in alphabetical order. Of course they are! Do you know who I am? My house and my garden being tidy is really going to calm and quieten my mind. I don’t function well inside chaos.
Hope you can join me tomorrow at 1.00 p.m. for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’. The Letter L (Pt. 6). Our Executive Producer is first timer but long-time listener Nimesh Patel, who has really done a fantastic job, and I think you’re going to enjoy his show.
Straight after the show on Saturday, I am having late lunch/early dinner with a clutch of beautiful people. Some really lovely people I haven’t seen in ages! It’s been in the diary for a while and it’s finally come around. And I shall be arranging more dinners over the coming months! Like a mad person, I started creating an alphabetical list of all the people I want to see before the year is out. The list is a mile long! I’ve got my work cut out!
Thankfully, the France game passed off without too much controversy. Let’s see what happens in the next Argentina match. Will they ‘steal’ another victory?
Have a fabulous and funky Friday! I love you all.

The story just gets worse! No surprise! Real Madrid and Argentinian international Franco Mastantuono has revealed that the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) has paid FIFA & Infantino. The FBI has opened an investigation in the United States into the Argentine Football Association over allegations of money laundering and fraud amounting to $300 million. If you thought the Premier League was bad, this is corruption on a global stage!
Most Americans would have sat in my house yesterday and said, “How can you people live without air conditioning?” Well, we do. It’s mild most of the year, so we cope without. It was really hot yesterday, wasn‘t it? Those of you in air-conditioned offices were fine. What did I do? I opened all the windows and kept hydrated.
Such beautiful weather outside but I’m meant to be keeping my arse indoors! The Trouble says I have ‘healed’ and there’s no need for the gaudy plaster on my belly. This means that I am healthy! I still have the ability to heal. How lucky am I?
I can still feel the gash when I move but, as soon as that sensitivity goes, I will be like a walking fool! I plan to walk for bloody miles! I’ve talked about walking home from the radio studio (Deptford to Harlesden). That will happen soon. Amazingly, some girl had a similar idea on her TikTok feed and decided to walk the Victoria Line (Walthamstow to Brixton!) Wow, I take my hat off to her.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in Blue Towelling Robe No. 3, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Happy Hump Day!
My beautiful friend Angela Colosi posted this on my page yesterday, “Your posts stopped being on my feed for ages and then suddenly popped back up again this week so enjoying them once more.”
So, I asked Google, “Why have my Facebook friends stopped seeing my posts?”
The reply: “Facebook’s news feed heavily favours posts from pages and people you interact with frequently. If you and a friend haven't liked, commented, or messaged each other recently, Facebook stops showing your updates to them automatically.”
I am guilty of this as much as anyone but online friendship require online connection. As I say to my students, social media is all about being sociable!
Obviously, online, it’s difficult to know what is real and what is fake. (In fact, even in real life it’s difficult to tell fact from fiction!) The Americans weren’t very happy about getting knocked out of the World Cup by Belgium so, ever since, these American keyboard warriors have been slating Belgium, but I saw one comment yesterday and it just CAN’T be real. One dude wrote, “How many Super Bowls have Belgium won?” Nah, that can’t be real! No American could be that dim!
I said it a few weeks ago and it’s all coming to fruition. It all began in the Algeria game and that dangerous tackle that should have seen Messi sent off, but he wasn’t! FIFA want Argentina to win the World Cup, so all of the decisions are going their way. It happened with Cape Verde and it happened last night with Egypt. FIFA have now announced the officials for the France game: all Argentinian. Which means every decision will go against France and, if England beat Norway, we’ll have to deal with this as well! It’s very sad that we’ve all invested so much time in something so corrupt.
Have a wonderful and well-endowed Wednesday. I love you all. Yes, a crazy bald man loves and cares about you.
