I’m kinda meh about roof gardens/ grass roofs bc they can accumulate a lot of weight and collapse/ cause leaks
But living walls? Mighty sexy
They provide natural insulation, which not only keeps the heat in during cold days, but keeps the heat out during hot ones. It’s better planned and maintained than vines (depending on the plant ofc).
Flooding in urban areas can be reduced since the roots and the growing medium will hold in moisture. Air can be purified, and heat can be reduced because of evaporation.
I just love living walls
Imagine cities that are also forests and prairies because they actually make an effort to integrate nature into all of their surroundings
This solves the problem of loving vines but knowing theyre bad for the infastructure while also being super eco friendly and ALSO really witchy and I love it
This is one of the funniest holiday cards I have ever seen.
this has been in my queue for an entire year
Related: Albuquerque is also providing mobile showers to the homeless — and they’re doing it in a wonderfully sustainable way.
I just donated. Please consider donating too.

Powerful statements like these, that juxtapose the condemnation of such a simple and pure thing as love with the honour and worship of violence and death, always hit me hard and stay with me for days
This is the tombstone of Technical Sergeant Leonard Philip Matlovich, the first gay service member to intentionally out himself in order to fight the ban on gay people in the military. He hadn’t only served for Vietnam, he was a career Air Force member in good standing who would have liked to continue his career even though he knew coming out would most likely make that impossible. He’d also been an elder in the LDS church but was excommunicated
He was on the cover of Time magazine in 1975 which was the first time an openly gay person appeared on the cover of a U.S. magazine and had their name printed in that magazine
He was an advocate for AIDs/HIV patients from the start of the outbreak in the 70s. He contracted the virus in 1986 and died 2 years later
His name doesn’t appear on his tombstone because he wanted it to be a memorial for all gay veterans
here’s the King himself
and here’s his grave in its full glory, with the pink triangles and everything! the words over the dates of his birth and death are referencing the extermination of lgbt people during the holocaust and the HIV crisis, respectively.
This is disgusting
The majority of the owner-writers of Cards Against Humanity wanted to put the n-word into the game. After their one black staff member, Nicolas Carter, asked Max Temkin, founder of Cards Against Humanity about the reasons behind each person saying ‘yes’ to doing so, and how it happened, Temkin told the head writers to fire him.
CAH head staff escalated things by contacting Carter’s family, threatening ‘disciplinary action’ and to fire Carter, then a staff member helped get Carter wrongly institutionalized, where he faced heavy racism.
FUCK Cards Against Humanity
CAH statements about what happened. Temkin also stepped down and resigned as of June 9th.

So in short… in case it is TL;DR
No one was institutionalized.
The company had the one co-founder to step down.
They are looking into improving many things over all. Even having an extensive investigation about it all.
That is something one should respect, they stepped up once it was brought to their attention.
The workers have now also formed a union, which has been recognised publicly by management, with the explicit aim of changing the toxic aspects of the company.
