Whoops! I realized I never notified over here.
Kotone, the character that this blog specifically followed, has been retired in this form. She is content and happy traveling the world with her love, and there will be no additional content added to this blog. This incarnation had a wild time, but I'm happy with where she has settled - she went through a lot that was never documented here, and I won't put her through it again, nor try writing her out of everything.
However, while her story has settled in a very pleasing manner, there were a lot of concepts that I had initially dreamed up for her that were abandoned during playing because the role-play she ended up in largely led to many of those concepts being dropped so she would fit in better - something that I do regret doing, and wish I had not.
Her new incarnation plays with one of my favorite things; what if? What if a kami thought she could let go, but couldn't and became impossibly lonely? What if someone happened to be in the wrong place at the right time? What if Kotone had never joined Keeper's Kiss, had never sacrificed so much of herself to please people, had remained faithful to herself and her ideals above all others?
It should be said that while I've left some things intact, this new Kotone is uninterested in chasing her history. While the 'old' Kotone forms an excellent foundation, the new one will not be impacted by the negative events the old one experienced - they serve as a distant 'gut feeling' for her, not a solid memory. It's the closest to a retcon I'll allow myself to get.
