4t3 Madlen's Dreamy Steps Fluffy Slippers

Here's my first shoes conversion! I always struggles to pick shoes for my sim. I'm not into heels, sneakers all look the same to me, and leather shoes feel too formal. Thinking about it now, it might be because I grew up in a really hot area where everyone mostly wore sandals. So I decide to convert some open shoes!

The CC was called "fluffy slippers," but after conversion it's not very fluffy anymore. The texture got compressed since The Sims 3 uses smaller default texture sizes compared to The Sims 4. And I chose not to upscale it to 2048x, as that wouldn't be gameplay-friendly for my non-gaming laptop.

Hezeh Fem Hair N16 - Optimization & Age Conversion

What I did:

Reduced polycount from 25k → 13k with no visual quality loss (before/after comparison under the cut) Unlike my previous optimized hairs, this time I reduced poly by parts and kept most backfaces to prevent quality loss.

Added morphs and fix breast bone, so body sliders work now.

Converted it for children, but there're some minor clipping at one side of the head and the shoulders (when walking), so I gave up continuing to convert it for toddler.

The table with the tablecloth is not working properly, the sim can't sit on the chair at it. He says that the table is in the way. Just wanted you to know.

The animation is a nightmare! It took me half a month to fix it, and although it's now less broken, there are still some tolerable clipping issues, particularly when the sim is walking.

Livixo Florence Set 4t3

So yes this took time as long as I expected, as it's my first time to deal with half 3d mesh half texture-based cc AND I took a 7-day trip~ I enjoy the scenery and hard breathing due to high altitude. Still find one piece of cc at one time boost the most passion for me though.

How did you make Naet look so oiled up in the booty pic

Lol booty pic x3 But its just very good lighting in and out of game. (I do use the invisible lights lol) I’ve probably mentioned it very long ago but I use the Burn and Dodge tools (In Gimp but I know PS has them too) to create a more realistic highlight (dodge) and shadowing (burn) on most of my pics. 

I usually add highlight to areas that should look more reflective depending on the lighting and the makeup a sim is wearing. There are usually 3 settings for the doge and burn tool: (Midtones/Highlights/ Shadowing). The ones I use the most are highlight and midtones becasue shadows is too drastic for me. I usually set the strength to about 50% or so and you do have to play around with which setting for the tool looks best for the areas you’re trying to highlight or shadow. Here are some examples:

As you can see its really useful for darker skintones especially because EA screwed us on rendering darker skin as nicely as it renders light and pale skin. -_- When you highlight the face think of the places you’d use highlighter when applying makeup. When I edit a pic I usually do the forehead, cheekbones, nose bridge, eyecorners and sometimes the chin and cupid’s bow.

Following this baking texture-based items for 4t3 conversion tutorial by thornowl and Aurora Eternal, amazing technique and what a beautiful dress by Livixo! But the sharp pixelated edges of texture-based item often bug me.(Never mind, it looks fine in game, yay~)

I'm challenging my patience to convert a full set (just clothes actually). I always admire creators who have a peaceful enough heart to do that....

Wings OE0120 Edit & Age Conversion

This hair is super beautiful and I thought it's only for sims 4 at first, after nearly finishing 4t3 conversion, then I realized Wings have done that by themselves LOL. So as usual, I made it more friendly for sims 3 game play and converted it for children and toddlers.

Reduce polycount from 29k to 14k, vertice count from 23k to 9k
