Sometime's we forget to look up
"It’s almost as if nobody wants to admit that they might not be prepared to do the work it takes to love somebody. And it can be laborious. To be intimate with someone who is flawed (which is the standard) requires us to expose our own flaws. We don’t talk about the heavy responsibility of that. We don’t talk about how we’re too lazy or too cowardly sometimes. We instead accuse love of being elusive. It isn’t. It is omnipresent. It asks us to be better people. And sometimes we flat out refuse." —Anon
“Does the sun ask itself, “Am I good? Am I worthwhile? Is there enough of me?” No, it burns and it shines. Does the sun ask itself, “What does the moon think of me? How does Mars feel about me today?” No it burns, it shines. Does the sun ask itself, “Am I as big as other suns in other galaxies?” No, it burns, it shines.”

[ID1: an image of a figure standing with their chest opened to expose their skeleton. they hold their flesh open with their own hands. over the image are cut-out words which form the quote “you can have my heart if you have the stomach to take it”
ID2: text reading “I say I want you inside me / and you split me open with a knife.”
ID3: an picture which mimics the first image — a woman standing and holding her chest open. the cut-out words over the image read “hide me somewhere really dark. hide me inside your hand.” end IDs]

[text ID: It’s one of those days when everything is half-off, / half-on. My shirt, for example, which I notice / is buttoned wrong while staring in the diner window. / I think I want a slice of pecan pie, some life / sweeter than this, life my childhood in Texas. / There’s no pie today, just you, / by accident again, bent over your coffee / like the “V” the geese fly south. / It’s a fall day. Because we’re melancholy, / we kick leaves, pick up rocks to consider / tossing them at dogs. I only breathe with one lung / since you’ve been gone, you say. And I love you / with one hemisphere of my brain, / the dumb one, which forgets.]
