“Which we all hope it does.”

“Except for the fact that he doesn’t have any word to give. Sort’ve the nature with memory loss.”

“No but there might be something in his past that could help. Or even since his memory loss.”

“Who, Christopher? I’d like to believe that your department would be capable of doing things even if he didn’t wish to continually rehash the trauma he’s experienced.”

“To some degree. But some things we need his word on.”

“Hopefully,” she nodded.

“As long as he’s willing to talk anyway.”

“I’ve never doubted that for a moment,” she replied lightly.

“Too hard probably.”

“And do what else?” he chuckled. “Besides my point is that Meels has all the ambition with her career. I don’t really see myself as Head Auror one day.”

“Because there was a war going on and I needed to help people. Not because I wanted it.”

“Well Amelia works very hard.”

“Then you should tell your wife to get on it,” she rolled her eyes.

“She’s one woman a year into her career, give her a chance.”

“You can have a correctional system that does not involve literal soul-sucking monsters watching over people who first and foremost don’t benefit from punitive justice,” she retorted. “In France, recidivism is at an all time low thanks to their rehabilitation focused system rather than retributive.”

“Exactly, but we don’t. Which needs change which needs the Wizengamot.”
