I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the younger Charming, though I always assume the best in individuals rather than the worst. If she’s anything like her brother, then at least that’d make her very determined in getting what she wants. Oh? She’s definitely someone as busy as I am, I suppose. I haven’t really talked to her much, which is purely a fault of mine since it’s part of my duties to get to know everyone, especially those in my year. I doubt I could pick anyone. Not to say that there’s a shortage of attractive people, but I just haven’t been looking, you know? Always busy, busy, busy, as my mum says. The student body’s moreso a set of statistics based on their experiences on campus, and I’ve yet to put faces on most of those individual statistics.

I don’t know, I get to take classes for free since we’re all poor, does that make you mad?

That sounds awfully unorganized, but I understand the instinct behind it. Nobody exactly wants to be stopped by meaningless paperwork, but it’s one of those fickle things that we let happen around here because the system’s always on our behinds about regulations and rules. If you go about it amicably enough, usually not! Professors make a living from teaching and helping, so if any of them aren’t holding up the standard for everyone, feel free to talk to Fairy Godmother or me about the issue. Honestly? Not really -- at least I can see my money’s going somewhere instead of just into the school’s fat wallet... don’t tell anyone I said that last part though.

what's your favorite holiday?

Oh, I don’t know... It’s cheesy, but probably Christmas. I don’t get to see my birth father often, but it’s one of the rare times he’s always ashore. We’ve begun a little custom where we go grab a couple beers once his ship’s docked and the semester’s ended before I depart for Locksley to spend the rest of the vacation with my mom and dad.

Can’t people just pay money to swim with sharks somewhere else? I’ve thought about signing up for one of my videos, but I’d have to start a GoFundMe to make it happen, first. Like take science classes? I’ve just kind of been taking random classes and mostly doing theater ones, I think that’s technically my major but I’m not sure.

Sadly, it’s one thing to just swim with them for an hour or two, another to get to study for several hours at a time. Not only is there the degrees to qualify, but diving permits, budgeting for gear, all that good stuff. Actually, you don’t need to take classes -- showing interest alone by visiting professors and getting acquainted works just as well. Some people call it being a teacher’s pet, but I call it getting a sneak preview, see if I like them enough to take their class. Can’t go wasting money on something I don’t like, you know?

Dude, I bet it was difficult without a chin strap, those things are pretty inflate-y, they aren’t exactly stable. Totally salvaged it, I could be a dinosaur the rest of my life if I just keep changing out my outerwear. 

I don’t know how a part-turtle would work, wouldn’t they just be a whole person wearing a shell? I mean, the shell’s kind of the turtle’s defining thing. And crabs have got to be things, I swear I’ve heard of like… something that has crab claws at least, you’d have to ask one of the Greek kids.

Oh, I imagine it is. If it isn’t for the fact that the staff would probably claim that wearing a dinosaur suit counts as “being a distraction,” I’d probably root for it. Off the record though? That’d be very amusing.

Exactly! That would be both a genetically awful but fascinating concept. Maybe the shell is a little bigger than the average backpack and their joints are flexible enough to shrink back into it, or it’s a detachable item altogether. Really? I just might if I catch wind of them.

What’s the coolest thing zookeepers have learned that you’ve ever heard about? Sweet, I gotta see if anyone’s gonna give me special access to giraffes. Although they walk close enough for feeding, even if they don’t I got this.

Be careful, I might just give it a shot... who knows, I might be able to succeed with one of them. Probably the biggest thing I’ve recently heard from the zoo is that they’re letting qualified zookeepers swim with sharks for up-close behavior studies. They’re currently staying within cages but they’re working on developing a bond so they can safely free-swim! Hey, it’s worth a shot. You could get started by getting acquainted with the university’s science department, not that I’m hinting.

A silent thanks was given at the fact that his camera didn’t automatically include flash, though that was one of the finer points he could reconfigure later. Standing up straight again when the photo was snapped, Charlie knew he didn’t quite agree with the compliment, but let it pass. He never thought he looked good anyway. “Okay... What’s that My Story thing, by the way? I keep seeing that option but I don’t know what that means?”

“Should I though? After all, if one’s going to attempt incapacitating them, it takes more work than outright taking them out, let alone a more careful touch,” he gave a slight smirk, “Then again, my studies don’t really specialize in human anatomy.” Charlie sat back, lips pursed as he reconsidered. “Theoretically, without concern for safety, I probably could take on a dozen.”
