Is GPS making us stupid?
When someone stopped me the other day for directions to a hall at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, I was astounded. Not because of the question, which seemed harmless enough. It was because I was being asked that question at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania 3 hours away. It never dawned on these individuals that State College with a population of 60,000 with 40,000 wasn't anywhere near a metropolis the size of Philly. The reason they did not know was because of an address in a hall, the address could not be plugged into their GPS.
