Adhara looked back at the beaker “Pretty sure, and I don’t think the solution is continue to put everything and anything in it. Ditto, chemistry suck.”
“If you know so much, you do it.” Lisa sighed and put her head on her desk, giving up. “I am so an arts person.”

“Nope, sorry. Although, it might possibly be in the music room.”
“That’s what people are saying, but I didn’t see it there. This is so frustrating, have you ever lost something really important to you?”

“Uh– yeah, of course. Neither of us really know the answer, though. It was just a pretty general day, and then they heard a baby crying as the tide was rising.”
“To be honest, this sounds like a really great story. And a mystery! I love mysteries, maybe we can work on this together? My dad says I get his genes in doing what it takes to find answers. We could start by checking the library to see about any records around that time.”

“Not birth mom, but yeah. I mean, I’ve considered it before– but it’s not like the stereotypical ‘step your feet in water and you have a tail!’ kind of thing, if that’s the case. And I’m not even sure about the second one, either; there wasn’t a single piece of evidence found on the shore. It’s all mystery.”
“That’s a good point, there would have been debris. Have you asked your parents more about it? I’m sure you trust them enough, right?”

“I don’t want to sound pessimist or anything, but that looks like is going to blow up.” She looked up to the person in front of her uninterested.
“You think so? I thought I mixed everything right. Ugh, I hate chemistry!” Lisa groaned and added random things until the beaker stopped bubbling.

“When you put it that way, maybe there’s some validation to the story, then… but it’s hard to believe that an abandoned baby is just found on the beach.”
“Your mom’s Ariel, right? Do you think...maybe you were a mermaid? Or maybe your birth parents were shipwrecked but got you to safety first?”

“ Um – yeah, that’s what my parents told me. It’s probably a load of crap, though; it must’ve been through an adoption agency or something. “
“Well...you never know. My mom was found wandering the streets when she was put into an orphanage. Being found on the beach doesn’t seem so far-fetched around here.”

“it tends to be a bit much.” especially for somebody like rox, who never went to school before auradon. “but i’ll happily look. i’m g o o d at finding things, and chances are, i don’t think anybody’s stolen it.”
“Yeah, I hope not,” she sighed, worried at the thought of someone stealing it. “It’s really special to me. I swear, if I find out someone did steal it...well I’m not going to take that laying down. Thanks for your help though...wait I never asked you your name. I’m Vasilisa, or just Lisa.”

“a guitar?” they tilted their head thoughtfully. “i know the music room sometimes stocks up on musical instruments that have been l e f t around… if it’s painted, then it’s easily distinguishable. would you like to come look with me?”
“You’d do that?” Lisa smiled at the generosity. “Thanks, I bet with both of us we’ll find it in no time. I honestly don’t know how I misplaced it, I guess the homework’s been really distracting lately.”

“I can’t say that I have. Did you check to see if maybe it got put up in the band room?”
“Oh, right. I mean, I hope not, that guitar is one of a kind. I’d hate to think someone put it in there with all the regular instruments. I guess that’s a good place to look though. Thanks.”
“Bozhe moi, have you seen a guitar around? It’s painted light yellow and blue, with little ballerinas along the edges.”
