Today is Lisbeth Salander's birthday.

On this day, Walpurgis Night, Lisbeth Salander and her sister Camilla were born to Agneta Sofia Salander.

It is a custom in Sweden to celebrate Walpurgis, which marks the return of Spring, by burning bonfires in order to ward off evil.

Happy birthday, Lisbeth!

From around the corner ahead, Blomkvist and Erika appear. He says something and she laughs, puts her arm around his waist and lays her head against his neck scarf.

Salander stops mid-stride, ducks into an alcove under the scaffolding, waits as long as it should take them to get inside the building, then peers out again.

They’re not inside. They’ve stopped just outside the building’s entrance. They’re embracing. And the longer they stand there together, the sharper the pain stabs at Salander.

Finally they separate, but only to allow Blomkvist to unlock the door. Erika takes his hand then, and they disappear inside.

Salander can’t move. Waits for the pain to subside - which it eventually does - but only to be replaced with a sense of helplessness. Then that subsides, replaced with a facade of insouciance.

The richest girl in Sweden emerges from the alcove and walks back the way she came - tossing the garment bag and card into a construction dumpster - climbs onto her Honda - starts it - and drives off.

Probably forever.

Sony Pictures Entertainment, michael lynton: Bring back David Fincher and original cast for Dragon Tattoo sequel

Referring to actual plans of Sony Pictures Entertainment I spoke to many people, fans of the 2011 Movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig, and the reactions were frequently the same! No one can understand WHY Sony dropped their plans for two more sequels, "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest" and INSTEAD are going with the last and newest book "The Girl in the Spider's Web" WITHOUT Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. The fact is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and especially Rooney Mara's performance as Lisbeth Salander was incredibly great and built an immense fanbase over the past years. The movie itself made a profit of $232.6 million at the Box office and had a cost of $90 million. So some would say it isn't that much profit but it was a good start and there is so much potential for the sequels and the immense fanbase was waiting for years and NOW every hope is destroyed because of Sony’s idea to bring it all back with a lower budget and a different cast! Why?! Even Rooney Mara seemed very disappointed about this plan -> her reaction Not only did Sony have an All-Star cast but also a great team that created the film, Including Nine Inch Nails masterminds Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, critically acclaimed director David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Gone Girl) and Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker. This petition claims to bring back the original planned sequels WITH the original cast and crew including Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for the soundtrack!!
