Meet me on the precipice

Where it’s you and me for as far as the eye can see

That captivating, undulating, torturous landscape.

Our bodies and minds, and all our truth is here

Every common thought and divided opinion

Every familiar ridge, and all that unknown terrain.

Let my echo resound in your foreign valleys

While you river-cross my unfamiliar streams,

Foolish or fearless, or both, we unlock the unseen.

We try to leave every stone unturned,

Journeying through this delicate fleeting land.

But despite all the wind and rain, our footprints remain in the sand.

Meet me out on that old precipice

And we’ll reminisce our deserted kingdom

- a beautiful expanse now dissolved.

That strange space, forged but now forgotten,

Left to the realms of fiction and fantasy,

And sweet memories tempered with teary eyes.

Oh, the land of love - what a bitter treat.
