The Rancheros

They called it a miracle He was face down in the sand They found him barely breathing Lariat in his hand

It’s not a miracle my friend It’s a curse that rides the wind The Calico Ranchera Was taken from him

They were racing the sun Just west of Santa Fe He was on the Palomino She had her Bay The sun is a poor loser It withdrew it’s light They were up along the Devil’s Horn In the darkest of night
