FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Hey y'all! The staff wanted to make some things about our plot seem a little less complicated for some who might still be confused about how it works, so here's a list of frequently asked questions about the specifics of our site world (:
First of all, HOW DOES IT WORK?
Basically, the experiment described in our site plot makes it so that any person like you or I could have a Disney character actually "living" inside their minds. They are not the "spirits" that you might see on other roleplays, and our original characters are not personified versions of the Disney characters.
The best way I can describe it should relate to all of you, since we are of course all writers! Think of the most prominent, most unique, most special characters you've ever created. Isn't it true that over time, they develop voices of their own? It seems like even if you believe one thing about them, they will let you know that that's not true, and it's like they are telling you about themselves, even if you're technically the one who created them. They are, basically, a voice inside your head.
This is what Disney characters are like to our original friends. They see what our characters see, hear what they hear, and make their own judgments and commentary, and perhaps, depending on their personality, they will let you know exactly what they think, and you could converse back to them.
For our avid readers, think of the relationship between Wanda and Melanie in "The Host". Completely different characters and personalities, but in one body, one mind. Melanie is even able to take control of the body in certain situations, and this too can be possible in our Disney-inhabited universe. It all depends on the characters involved and the situation at hand.
DOES MY CHARACTER HAVE TO HAVE A SIMILAR PERSONALITY OR SIMILAR HISTORY TO MY DISNEY CHARACTER?
Not at all! The two characters are completely separate, so they can be as similar or as radically different as you'd like. In their world, many characters are paired randomly with human subjects, but special requests can be accommodated, so if your character chooses to be paired with her favorite princess because they have so much in common, then so be it!
IF I'M PLAYING A BOY, DOES MY DISNEY CHARACTER HAVE TO BE A BOY?
Definitely not! Again, because they are completely different characters being thrown together, they don't have to be the same gender at all. Of course, it might get a bit awkward to have Flynn Rider in a girl's head checking her out as she undresses, but maybe that's half the fun.
WILL I BE PLAYING A DISNEY CHARACTER OR AN ORIGINAL CHARACTER?
Both! The plot of the roleplay is that the Disney characters are inside the minds of the originals, fully able to have conversations with them and everything! So you could definitely play out an inner conversation between the two characters if you wish! In fact, we would like to see some of this in your application, just to see the voice of the Disney characters coming through, as well as the voice of your own character.
DOES MY CHARACTER HAVE TO HAVE A DISNEY CHARACTER IN THEM?
No! We certainly allow originals who have not been injected with another character. Obviously, there are way more humans than Disney characters, so it's just logic that not everyone will have a character inside them.
