All of these are unrefined/unfinished but a few people wanted to read this crap so HERE YOU GO
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Her heart ached, she could see he'd hated her taking such a dangerous job. That she'd be unhappy in this life, that it would mean she'd be here on coruscant but they'd never be partners in the same way again. It was all so obvious in the tightness of the shoulders, the lines on his face. She had to tell him, tell him /this/ was safer than remaining a jedi. Slowly she came up behind him, at least being a senator now afforded her some privacy they could take advantage of.
“Solas.” She whispered her arms slowly wrapping around his shoulders and pressing her forehead to the nape of his neck. “I'm pregnant.” Dawn spoke it softly, as if afraid she'd break something otherwise. The moment was precarious as it was, but she needed him to understand why she was taking this horrid job. To protect their son. Former jedi or not they couldn't touch the child now that she was a senator without it causing a fuss.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Their eyes met across the room and Dawn immediately knew she’d chosen the right dress. It was practically see through and her form was outlines whenever she stood in front of a lightsource.
Of course thats why she’d worn the thing to the function to begin with. It wasn’t often she got to see ‘Master Solas’ squirm in public. She could tell what those robes of his were hiding by the twinge in his neck and sharpness of his gaze. The signs were all so subtle of course, unless you had your hands down his pants, but she could tell already from her spot by the drink table he was getting uncomfortable.
He practically stalked over in the graceful way only a jedi master could well, /master/. She smiled at her own terrible joke and took a drink, taking care to stand in front of the light coming from the setting suns. “Master Solas, I had not thought to see you here. Did you lose a bet with Master Malcolm?” She asked and offered him a drink.
He glared at the cup and she downed its contents, Solas raised an eyebrow in amusement and Dawn shrugged. “After the day I’ve had I deserve it.” She declared and put the empty glass on a passing servers tray. She was a bit tipsy already, after having to hear the trade federation drone on and on Dawn just wanted that damn monotone out of her head.
“No doubt, you were never one for bureaucracy.” He kept his distance with everything but his gaze, but even that was calculated. You’d never know they had a child upstairs in a crib. Either Dawn was that much of a fool or they were both accomplished liars. “I actually do have some business to discuss with you, Malcolm has some /concerns/ about a fellow senator.” He nodded at a passing guest and kept his voice low, he really did mean business.
“Then by all means lets head to my office, I don’t think they’d appreciate me drinking all their liquor anyway.” She sighed and Solas took off in the opposite direction. Would it kill the man to throw caution to the wind just once? Perhaps that was the wine talking. Making her way through the crowd with all the pomp and circumstance a Senator could ever want to exude Dawn finally made it to the corridor. Less people were milling about here and it was almost silent as she made her way to the elevator.
He was waiting for her there, as always. No sooner had the doors closed then he’d pulled her to him. His lips slid over her with familiarity and desperation just long enough to get her flustered but not long enough to let anyone on the other side of the doors get a show. By the time they’d reached the floor with her apartments Dawn was panting and glaring at a smug Jedi.
At least her apartments weren’t far, regaining the bit of lost composure she glided down the hallway and through the door, waving them open as two guards nodded at her. She nodded back and they left with another nod to Solas.
A woman was sitting on the couch, a halo in her hand and Dawn smiled. “That’ll be all for tonight, thank you for watching him. Is he asleep?” She asked, keeping her voice down despite knowing Koju was five rooms away in his crib. The woman stood and gave the Senator a bow.
“He just went down, was a bit fussy he was, but he settled down when he sensed you coming I would think.” She chuckled and kept her gaze to the floor. The nurse had never openly questioned just who Koju’s father was, but one glance at Solas after caring for the Senators son did make one wonder. With another bow she excused herself for the night as Dawn headed down the hallway, ignoring Solas as she quietly entered their sons room.
She smiled from ear to ear when she hovered over the sleeping baby, Solas slipped in behind her, his arms going around her waist as his chin tucked itself over her shoulder and they looked down at the little life form they had created. Worry ate at his stomach, worry for Dawn in such a precarious position in the senate, worry for the way the galaxy was starting to /change/ and worry for the son lying in his crib, unaware of the dangers in the universe that awaited him.
Dawn turned in his arms, and kissed his jaw and tense muscles in his neck. “You need to relax Solas.” she whispered against his skin that made /relaxing/ the last thing on his mind. He gave a soft sigh and looked down at the chubby little babe in a pool of blankets, his ears sticking up and twitching in his sleep with a soft down of hair atop of his head the color of Solas’s own.
Gently she tugged him from the room and he remembered he was here for business despite it all. She did not relinquish his robes once in her office, instead she sat herself upon the sturdy wood like a throne and brought him close between her legs. Vixen.
For a moment he thought of the business he was here for, but it was bureaucratic hogwash that could wait for the morning. He cupped the back of her head and brought her lips a hairsbreadth from his, “Later” he hissed before kissing her with enough force bend them over the desk. He could feel her amused smirk as he invaded her mouth his tongue. The kiss was not sweet, it was desperate and demanding and Dawn responded with fervor. Tongue and teeth clashed until they were both panting and Solas laid kisses on her neck, giving a bite that almost broke the skin. She moaned beneath him, her back arching against him.
“Did you pick this dress just to torture me?” He hissed pulling the top lower to reveal her breasts, coincidentally it also forced her arms to her sides as he assaulted the flesh now exposed to him. Her breasts were larger now that Koju had been born, and now that she was no longer breastfeeding he didn’t have to worry about her breasts being too tender to enjoy herself.
“Me? Tease you in public? Never.” He sarcasm was cut off mid sentence with a moan he latched onto one of her pert nipples, the peak caught between his teeth as his hand massaged the other. “Solas.” she groaned and his hands descended to her waist. He backed off of the desk and ignored her whine of disappointment in favor of picking up the draped gown and catching the excess fabric.
“Do you ever wear undergarments?” He asked sucking in a harsh breath as her rosy petals were revealed to him. The tattoo above her clit was ever the same and he kissed the arched symbols that ran from the apex of her legs to the inside of her thigh. He was the only one who’d ever seen that tattoo and possessiveness curled in the pit of his stomach as his tongue delved into her heat. “I’m supposed to be neutral force in the universe.” He groaned between her thighs as Dawn moaned and squirmed.
His finger started to circle her clit and he had to loop and arm around her thigh to keep her within reach of his lips. Solas’s onslaught was merciless and he waited until she was just at the edge of orgasm before stopping. “Sol-You.” Her pleas were forced between hot pants the made her breasts bounce, he stared with delight as wiped her juices from his chin and presented the fingers to her. The Vixen immediately began to suck them and he groaned, taking back the digits as his pants became much much too tight.
Dawn sat herself up on the desk and pulled him roughly to her, he tasted of her and she enjoyed the little claim it left on him whenever he ate her out. The orgasms were usually just an enjoyable side benefit. As he kissed her long and hard Dawn began the process of getting to his pants, growling with impatience he scooped his hands under that lovely ass of hers and headed towards the bedroom.
They almost didn't make it. No sooner had the door closed behind them he dropped her on the bed and started undressing. Dawn giggled and stood as soon as he’s tossed off the last layer. With exaggerated motions she untied the small stays on the sleeves and the dress floated to the floor. His fingers dug into her hips as he pulled her to him, bound to leave bruises in their wake.
His fingers ran over her slit and it was dripping with her want. His member twitched in response. More gently than he thought he was capable of in that moment he pushed her back onto the bed so she faced away from him on her knees. He pulled her back up to his chest by wrapping his fingers around her throat, not tight enough to stop her from breathing but enough to keep her in place as he plunged into her with one fell thrust.
She was hot and wet around him as his other hand steadied her hips. Dawn moaned and shook with each thrust. The air in the room was overwhelmingly hot now, or perhaps it was just the pair of them. Again he felt her begin to tense around him and he pulled out, she complained loudly but he just smirked and flipped her onto her back. He wanted to watch her face as he made her cum.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Mamea….Mamea!” Koju cries, rubbing his tired two-year old little eyes. He is unused to Papa being here so much, he misses mamea, her gentle smile and warm hugs, her bedtime stories. She used to make Papa smile, and now he frowns endlessly and Koju doesn't know what to do. The floppy one, Papa’s pattiwan, picks up the small crying child and rocks him.
“It is alright Little one, do not cry.” He smiled and Koju makes an unhappy face as Cole tilts his head. “Your mother is still with you. I bet you feel her, you’re like me, we both feel the force!” But Koju is confused, and Cole is confused why a baby can’t understand the force. In the end Cole sighs. “Don’t tell your father, but she was thinking of you two. I fear Master Solas would feel even more guilty if I told him.”
“This is how freedom dies? With thunderous applause? The thought rings out and through her lips before she can stop them, eyes rimmed with tears. She does not let them fall, enough tears will be shed today. The meeting comes to a close and she realizes she’s alone, there is no one to stop the guards and she fingers the saber in her cloak like a lifeline, she will not die quietly. Through the door, down the hallway, she hears the man behind her, knows running is useless. Images flash in her head, that first time she looked at Master Solas on Coruscant framed by the light of the city and thought “emma lath” and her stomach twisted in horrid knots, the one time she did not mind those horrid knots when the little one was born, so tiny and helpless and looking so much like his father.” Cole paused. “Then she was gone….just blackness and I was too far to search for her….” his voice is melancholy and he holds the boy tighter. “I miss her too.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Koju stared up at his father, his four year old hands tugging at his papa’s jedi robes. Immediately the elf snapped out of his reverie and looked down, the smile he gave wasnt real, and it Koju want to cry.
“What are you doing up?” He asked hesitating before picking his offspring up. The boy settled himself in his fathers arms and nuzzled the jedi’s shoulder.
“Dream. Mamae. She /tawked/ to me. She was sad, and wonely.” He sniffed and his eyes filled with tears. Solas adjusted his son awkwardly so he was more on his chest. The two year old was small enough he could probably use the vest as a sling. Dawn had teased him about that very idea once.
Dawn.
Just her name sent daggers through his chest, he took one shuddering breath and a small hand on his cheek made him look at the freckled child. Her brown eyes were staring up at him from a mirror image of his own face. Laying a kiss on Koju’s forehead he clutched the boy tightly.
“She tawked a lot Papa, and she said to tew she wuvs you. You’re sad too.” The boy said slowly, his mouth unable to comprehend all its own phonetics yet, at least in the elvhen he was using. “You not gonna weave like mamae are you?” His little broke as tears spilled onto Koju’s cheeks.
“Shhhhh,” Solas crooned tucking the boy close to him and running a hand up and down the childs back. He wasn’t entirely sure how to answer. “Mamae never left you, she’s still with you. In the force. Can you feel her?” He asked, it was a silly thing to even ask a child of two, his reasoning skills weren’t even fully developed yet.
Koju, ever the obedient child closed his eyes and scrunched up his face,
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Keep going Ellie I’ve got this one!” Koju said through gritted teeth, the station was falling apart around them. Or at least this section, it was hard to tell. The hooded figure in front of him gave a laugh.
“Oh how cute, give your little girlfriend a head start, won’t do much good. All good little jedi’s die eventually.” The drawl was familiar, and the sarcasm hit him with an odd sense of familiarity.
“You do realize that sith are just another faction of jedi right? So you’re just as likely to fall today.” Snark was easy, snark was a shield. The cloaked figure took out a saber and slowly hit the release, a red beam of light extended from the hilt and his opponent threw back her cloak.
“Ready to play?”
He wasn’t, he wasnt ready. For the fight or the fact that the woman in front of him looked so much like the padawan in the hollos that Pops called his mother. Their freckles were mirror images of each other and as Koju took off his own hood he watched the confusion in the others eyes even as Koju remained at the ready with his saber.
It couldn’t be. This woman was too young to be the former Senator of the People, but he recognised Dad’s ears and nose on her face and it clicked into place. “Sweet Maker are you my sister?” It was desperate, it couldn't be true. If it was then it would mean his mother had not died right after the vote. It would mean that she’d been /pregnant/ before he and Pops had fled with the fledgling rebellion leaders.
It would mean his sister had been raised a sith. Raised to hunt down her own Father and Brother and everything they held dear.
Tamlen narrowed her eyes, mother had told her this might happen. The dreams were so far and few nowadays. Mother was dying. Mother needed to be protected. Master had taken much from her mind but mother had kept much of her safe. Master wanted her to kill the jedi, but Mother told her to run.
She couldn’t. Not now. She wanted to run. She wanted to tell him she’d only just become a sith, that he didn’t need to look at her like she’d already murdered a battalion of jedi and bathed in their blood. He was so tall, mother hadn’t told her that. But how could she have known? Tucked away in some far corner of the galaxy as she was.
“You can’t tell him, not yet. Not safe, they’ll kill her.” The words go past her lips before she can stop them and Tamlen knows she will face punishment when she claims she never found the jedi who were taking apart the communications satellite. But she refuses to harm her brother.
“I’ll find her. And we’ll save her. Be safe.” The first words she’s ever spoken to her brother are a desperate plea and she turns tail and runs. runs, runs, runs, runs for her shuttle.
Koju is shaken as he lowers his lightsaber. It disturbs him that all he had to do was check the force to feel the connection that lay between him and the sith. That she truly was his sister, that he knew exactly what she meant before taking off.
Mother was alive, but as long as Tamlen didn’t know where she was they couldn’t save her, not yet anyhow.
Pops would say it was a trap, that this was a lie the sith concocted because she just /happened/ to look like mother in a way. Wetting his lips the jedi took off down the other hallway to where Ellie was looking quite frantic in the doors of an about-to-take off ship. Biting his lip the elf jumped into the hatch just as it closed, his robes nearly catching on the door.
His breathing was heavy, his stomach rolled as the girls face flashed across his mind. /He didn’t even know her name/. Ellie’s worried voice was at the back of his mind as he collapsed on all fours and pushed past the urge to vomit. Hot tears rolled down his face and he gently pried Ellie from his arm.
“I’m fine, I just need a moment…..”

Cullen took one look at their new ‘prisoner’ in the brig and his eyes got wide. His eyes went to Koju, who was looking rather downcast compared to his usual optimism. “We’re going to have to keep this out of the reports.” he groaned. “Neither Master Solas or Lilly can know about her” Koju made a choking noise and looked up at the commander.
“You’re telling me to just lie to my father? /She’s my sister/. I refuse to abandon her.” He said, Cullen sighed, for a jedi Koju let his emotions rule him far too often, even the war veteran could see that.
“No, omit the truth, I doubt he’ll suddenly ask if he has any other bastards out in the galaxy over breakfast, and we have prisoners coming and going through here all the time. I’ll confer with Malcolm over what to do with her….but she’s right Koju. If it looks to the Empire like Tamlen is cooperating at all they’ll kill Dawn before we can ever reach her.” He laid a hand on the young man’s shoulder. “I am sorry.”
“I’m not.” A small voice said and Cullen and Koju looked over to the pensive woman in the cell. “I’ve done much I’m not proud of Commander, coerced or not. If keeping me here and keeping me from Dad keeps him safe then so be it.” Her voice breaks and Cullen can’t tell if she is sincere or not. “I failed mamae, I will not fail him too…” This he knows is sincere, the same catch in her voice is one he’d heard from his daughters and it made his chest ache.
“What about Ellie? She was there the first time we encountered Tamlen, even if she didn’t meet her.” Koju frowns, his brows furrowing. For some reason the casual use of his daughters nickname makes Cullen uncomfortable, there is a new softness to the way Koju says it that he doesn't like.
“She would run to her mother with it faster than you could say ‘new shoes’” Cullen grumbled with a surly edge as he took his hand back. “It’s better this way…” He spoke with a finality that brokered no argument. Honestly as he left the room Cullen wasn’t sure if he was more afraid of Lilly’s guilt they’d never questioned the very public funeral for Dawn or Solas’s quiet rage they hadn’t gone back when they could.
Of course the longer this was under wraps the more likely it was to backfire, if the Empire contacted them about getting back their sith apprentice there was no way they could resist screwing with their minds by saying they had Dawn’s daughter ‘wrapped around their finger’.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tamlen felt the blade sink into her midrift but she swung anyway, lobbing off the head of her former Master with a grin. She would not let the sith destroy her family, not again. Tamlen’s ear twitched as the pain started to kick in and she fell to her knees. She watched the head roll and fall off the side of the platform with faraway eyes. Someone was wrapping their arms around her, carrying her away from the pool of blood.
Where had all that blood come from?
“Tammie, Tammie can you hear me? /Shit/.” He propped her against the hallway and did his best to force heal her. A glow started around his hands. She couldnt be dying, he’d only just got his sister back, they were supposed to make new memories together. He was supposed to protect /her/, he was the older one, it should have been him.
“I-I can hear you Koju. You’re kind of shouting after all.” Why did snark run so hard through their veins? Were no moments sacred? Koju choked and Ellie put her hand on his shoulder.
“Koju you’re going to kill yourself if you keep that up! We need to go.” she was frantic and it just occurred to him that the death star was about to collapse upon itself.
“Okay, okay, shit. Tamlen we’ll get you home okay?” He said and grunted as he picked her up, she was heavier then she looked, or he was weaker than he thought. Today the Empire had started to crumble, but it would not be much of a victory if Tamlen fell as well.
“Koju…”
“I’m not leaving her Ellie.” He shouted and Tamlen swore and curled up in his arms, his front was covered in blood now and he didnt want to think about how much she was losing. It was hard to run with her in his arms, but he didn’t stop.
By the time they got to a working shuttle pod she was deathly still in his arms. Ellie dove for the cockpit and Koju laid Tamlen down on one of the bench seats. “Tammie, stay with me.” he said, her breathing was so shallow it was barely there.
“I wanted to be like Papa.” he voice was small and hoarse and Koju clutched her hand.
“Save your strength Tammie” Koju said as they started to take off, he could hear their shields taking damage, some reverberations from the exploding space station making the walls shake, and then them entering hyperspace but it was all at the back of his mind. He focused on his sister, on keeping her life force going, on keeping her heart beating as his hands frantically tried to stop the bleeding.
Lightsabers should cauterize wounds why was she bleeding so much?
“I’m sorry I wasn’t” She was crying and Koju looked at her with a watery smile.
“No, no, you were so much better. Mom and Dad together couldnt kick that much ass.” He tried, and it came out strangled but she chuckled and coughed, her chest twitching as she tried to find air. Tamlen smiled and then her eyes grew distant, and then vacant. Koju swore, his voice hoarse as he tried to get her heart to beat again. He wasn’t sure how long he tried before Ellie’s arms wrapped around him and he cried, collapsing on his knees next to Tamlen’s now lifeless body.
She had thought she’d be forever beyond redemption. That being touched by the dark side meant she was forever trapped there, she’d been wrong. She’d died a jedi, protecting peace and hope for all those who could not protect it themselves. Turning he brought his arms around Ellie, he would not lose her too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She knew the moment Tamlen was dead, the withering connection they had was severed forever in a quiet moment and Dawn’s sightless eyes shot open in the dark. Sitting up she brought a hand to her mouth. Her baby was dead. They’d given her no news of Tamlen since she’d been captured.
Had she surrendered or had they taken her?
Had she resisted or run to the rebels?
How had her baby died?
Tears streamed down her face and Dawn shook, the sliver of light that got through the door did nothing to ease the darkness. Tamlen, her poor little Tammie, born too late, they’d taken her baby and tried to turn into a monster. But she was always too much like her father, hopefully the Rebels would be able to see that too.
It was hard to stop the shaking once she started, illness and grief were not the best of companions for anything but death. She’d lasted twenty years here, what was another twenty? Except now her little star was gone, and she had no idea if Solas or Koju remained alive. Propping herself up against the wall she did the best mock meditation pose she could manage while barely to move her legs and took a deep breath even as more tears streamed down her face.
Koju /was/ alive, she could feel it in the force, her connection to him had always been stronger. Dawn gave a choked sob of relief, but she could feel his grief like a tangible thing and her heart ached for her little boy, well not so little anymore. But he grieved for his sister, which meant they had for a brief time, had each other.
Dawn dropped the connection, it was too much, she buried her face in her hands and cried and cried. Tears of anger, tears of grief, her children should never have been put through this. Her chest ached and felt hollow, slowly the tears stopped and for the first time in almost ten years she tried to reach the man she needed most.
His energy had always been calming, even after he had closed himself off to what he thought were ghost memories. She had felt his grief, known they had faked her death, with a beautiful stand in for a public funeral and all. And they’d made her watch, knowing how it would affect those she loved to believe she had been killed in the same hour as the vote.
It was like he was waiting for her, but not so much with open arms as he was an iron wall. She tried to focus, but everyday she was slipping farther and farther away. Dawn couldn’t blame him, but as she opened her eyes and gave up she wished he would let his guard down for once. Koju believed her to be an entity of the force, no doubt thanks to his father, who spoke to him in his dreams. She could only hope Tamlen had told him the truth.
But she was too tired for all of this, her daughter was dead, her son grieving and man she loved seemed determined to keep her at arms length in ‘death’ as he had in life, though for very different reasons. As Dawn slipped back into the blackness of sleep she could only hope she would have the strength to wake up again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something was wrong, but Dawn could barely sit upright so she refused to push herself too hard. Miracle of miracles she’d managed to force heal the broken rib a guard had delightfully given her the day before, it had cost her dearly though as now everything hurt as whole and energy refused to come to her.
Light streamed in from above, the vent open to the air outside the prison on whatever planet they were on. She’d been in this particular cell 10 years and no one had bothered to tell her where she was, or give her the menu for room service, they were all beyond rude. A few explosions had her intrigued though, and Dawn propped herself against the wall facing the door.
Her foot tapped an impatient rhythm as she crossed her legs and waited, it wasn’t like she could /see/ if someone was about to come through the door. Tamlen had described the cell as small and white, with a two way mirror made of blast-proof glass and a door with four kinds of locks. Tamlen had also described the vent. But that was years ago, and while the vent had been her best option it wasn’t until recently she could ‘see’ things with the force.
Escaping did her no good if she fell off a cliff.
Another set of explosions rocked the prison and Dawn was starting to get bored, did this mean she was going to die of starvation? She doubted there was a failsafe on any of these doors if the power ran out, they’d all simply be locked in there until they died. Or whoever was raiding the base killed or recruited them.
For a moment she considered the idea it was the rebels, but she squashed the hope before it could rise too high in her chest. Then as suddenly as the noises were pouring into the base they ceased. Someone had won, Dawn wasn’t entirely sure who but someone had won.
Running in the hall send sound rebounding and Dawn pursed her lips, they sounded like they were headed for- a clink sounded and then a whoosh of fresh air came in- her cell. Whoever it was remained frozen in the door, Dawn cocked her head to the side, “What? You guards decide to feed the blind lady twice in one week? How generous, is this a special occasion?” Snark was always a good response to imminent danger.
“You could say that ma vhenan.” The voice was years older, strained by time and tears, but she knew it as well as her own. She did her best to stand and her was there to catch her for the inevitable fall. Tears washed her face as she buried her nose in his neck.
“I have missed you.” Dawn said in her native tongue, it felt clunky after years of disuse. His lips found her and Dawn’s hands travelled slowly over his face, tracing new scars and old. When they parted he scooped her up, not mentioning her obvious lack of health.
“We’re getting you out of here.” Solas stated resolutely and Dawn rested her head on his shoulder.
