A lot’s changed at 51 since losing Shay. We’ve welcomed in some new friends. Got a new rig and a dream of mine came true, but here’s what hasn’t changed: this house. This family. It’s all as strong as it ever was. Even stronger because I think deep down in the quiet moments, we think to our self, Shay would want us to be better. She’d want us to represent her everytime we go out.

okay so heres the thing about that chicago fire finale. it broke my heart. like smashed it into a million little pieces. and you wanna know why? because of matt casey crying over the walkie to gabby. we see so many times where gabby or anyone really is standing outside of whatever the danger is worried about the people inside and they’re all like “nah dont worry we’ve got this, we always get out” and they do usually, right? so seeing gabby upset out there, as sad as it was, wasnt what took me over the edge. its casey, who usually has a solution for everything and usually doesnt panic much in danger, is realizing he cant get out of this one and he has to say his goodbyes. like the fear that must have taken over him??? and all he could think of was to talk to gabby one last time because he knew that he wasnt getting out (i have no doubt in my mind that he’ll somehow get out, dont get me wrong) but at the moment he thinks this is it, and hearing him confess his love to her over that stupid walkie broke me
