It’s not the deaths that kill us
It’s the reaction of their loved ones
May 2nd, 1998 – May 2nd, 2018
Today marks twenty years since the Battle Of Hogwarts. It is a bittersweet day, as it marks both the end of the war and of Voldemort, but also the death of loved characters. Today let us remember all those characters who lost their lives today, twenty years ago.
Remus John Lupin- A beloved husband, father, and friend. During his lifetime, he fought prejudices and changed the way werewolves were viewed forever. He was an inspiring example for all. His kindness in the face of pain and hardship never wavered.
Nymphadora Tonks Lupin- A loved wife, mother, daughter, and dear friend. She was strong, brave, and is one of the most noble examples of everything a Hufflepuff should represent. She risked her life, repeatedly, for what was right.
Fred Weasley- A cherished brother and son. He was a shining example of hope in the darkness, and he made people smile at the darkest of times. His joke shop thrived as a safe haven. Perpetually laughing, Fred was an example of optimism and joy. He is remembered by his family and twin brother, George.
Severus Snape- A deeply flawed individual who is controversial in many aspects, no one can deny that he sacrificed his life and well-being for the demise of Voldemort. He helped bring about the end of the war, and for that, he can never be thanked enough. In the end, Severus was not a coward.
Colin Creevey- A beloved brother and friend. Despite his youth, Colin chose to do what was right and stayed to fight for the battle. He was enthusiastic and brave, and for that, he is an wondrous example for us all. He only ever sought to be a friend of a hero, but now, he is a hero himself.
And lastly, here is a tribute to the fifty unnamed individuals who perished in the Battle of Hogwarts, who fought for their freedom and that of their friends. They died so that other may live, and every single one of them are heroes. They are unnamed, but not unforgotten in our hearts.
Happy 20th anniversary of “not my daughter you bitch”, lmao iconic
20th anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts.
RIP Dobby a free elf ❤️
For all those who fought bravely this day 19 years ago, to those that lived, may they live well and happy, and for those that died, may they rest in peace. This day is not just to remember those who died, but to remember what they died for. Love, loyalty, friendships and family stands above all, and to attain happiness there’s a need for sacrifice. Sometimes, the good die young so the others can live longer. The ones who die for us, live through us. They will always be in our hearts forever. I raise my wand to Severus Snape, Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Colin Creevey, Lavender Brown and the Fallen Fifty.
