It’s not the sort of thing I usually do, but I was enjoying some wonderful jazz tonight and was inspired to try some speed painting. This is a 45 minute image and to be honest I’m pretty satisfied with it.

Questions About Creating Your OCs

‘Cause sometimes the stories of how OCs come to be are just as interesting as the OCs, themselves. Tell me how your virtual kids came into the world.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

My good friend @lithokitty is a wonderful writer and artist and I recently commissioned him to write a short story about Al and Ethan. The scene is set a couple decades into the future after Ethan is retired from exorcism and the two are living the easy life as retirees (well, mostly). I am BESIDE myself at how well he wrote them and I’ll be reading this over and over forever, haha (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ It’s got a little bit of everything in such a short space and I hope you enjoy it too!

“Ow.” Ethan said as he eased himself into the hard wooden chair.

“What?” Al asked, suddenly solicitous, “Did you hurt your back again?”

Ethan swatted at him. “No, stupid. I didn’t hurt my back.” he rolled his eyes. “My glutes are sore from the gym. All those squats yesterday.” Ethan explained. It wasn’t fair that the demon aged so slowly, Ethan had to work twice as hard to keep up with him.

“You’re sure it was the squats that made your butt hurt?” Al said with a salacious eyebrow waggle. “Nothing… else… we did yesterday?”

Last week on @outsidextra they had the tomato fish fan art, to which Ellen said: "I'd get it an eat it like smeagol". Luke quickly followed up with: "that's some fan art we don't need to see..." I'm afraid I disagree, I couldn't get the image out of my mind, so here it is for everyone to enjoy.

Anyone watching Final Space?

So it’s pretty funny and despite the pretty basic cartoon styling, there’s a surprisingly impressive amount of work in the animation. Like sure the characters are simple, but they’ve done the lighting beautifully and there’s a lot to like there. But I’ve also fallen in love with Avocado (or is it Avocato?). Does anyone share my love for this “definitely not a cat” space cat?

But there’s something dark lurking in Jack’s heart; an ancient bloodline curse… The oldest living male of his family experiences uncontrollable transformations and becomes a savage beast, eventually destroying the people they love the most. Lucky for Jack he met a warlock named Dexter with the power to trap the beast and tame his transformation. But as he falls for Dex, he wonders, does his new love have enough power to escape the curse?

9: What’s your Dream Job?

Probably professional author. There’s nothing I’d love more than to be able to tell people my stories and have that be my full time job.

24: Favourite Band?

That’s harder to answer, my taste in music is pretty eclectic. I have everything in my playlist from classical music, to folk, to electronic and jazz. I’d probably say my current fave is Scott Bradlee’s Post Modern Jukebox. They do anachronistic period covers of modern songs and it’s great.
