ok, imagine this with me… a whole gated community just for us. every single person inside is either a caregiver or a regressor. there are homes to live in, playgrounds everywhere, a school that’s actually fun, and little shops that get us.
the playgrounds are huge! some for tinier littles, some for older littles, and there’s a shallow kids pool and a splash pad too. we could ride tricycles safely, climb as high as we want, swing forever, and nobody would ever laugh or judge.
the school? it’s gentle. nap times, quiet rooms, sensory corners. teachers that actually understand us. we could bring our stuffed animals to class, or just chill in the reading corner with a book and no one would care.
the shops are perfect. toy stores, craft stores, even a grocery aisle just for snacks we love. a little café where we could sit with our stuffed animals and eat tiny pancakes or drink hot chocolate.
there’s a library, a community center, a movie room, and even a clinic where help is calm and kind. caregivers are safe and trusted. littles can be… just littles. dress how we want, stim however we want, bring all our plushies.
it’s like a place where the rest of the world doesn’t exist. where being small isn’t weird or wrong. a place that’s ours, just for us🥲
Regressors of all kinds are welcome here: regressors of color, neurodivergent regressors, fat regressors, system regressors, disabled regressors, queer regressors, older regressors, hairy regressors, regressors who are addicts, mentally ill regressors, fandom regressors, diapered regressors, middle regressors, teen regressors, regressors who do it just for fun, regressors who do it involuntarily, regressors who post positivity, regressors who use their blog to vent, regressors who are also caregivers, permaregressors, regressors who only age dream, regressors who watch content geared towards adults, regressors who don't want caregivers, regressors of all kinds!
Remember when I told you all about the plush painting party we had planned for the weekend?
Today was the big day, and Gael couldn't have enjoyed herself more. She's been so curious about painting and art, and I'm glad Irwin and her could hang out while she painted him 😊
You can see how things were progressing!
She feels like she made some mistakes along the way, but this is one of those things where the journey is more important than the destination.
Irwin agrees, but he also thinks Gael did a wonderful job. She sure did! I did try to help her fix the eyes a bit, but neither of us were very successful 😆
And at the end of the day, Gael had a great time. And I think she's pretty pleased for a first time effort.
And if this sounds like fun, you're invited to the next Zoom! You can find the delightful woman who runs this painting party on Instagram at Laura Rose Paints. She can definitely get you started if all of this sounds fun to you.
I know Gael hopes to see more people and plushes there next time!
Being in that baby headspace, nonverbal and unable to express what you want to those around you. It just hits different, but then when that one person comes up to you..
"Hey buddy, what's wrong? You hungry? Thirsty? Need a nap? Tell me what's wrong kiddo."
I love being cared for like this, genuinely wish I was treated like this all the time.
Age regression is always portrayed as this pure super cute, electable comforting thing in social media and I’m sorry but, I’m tired, there’s sometimes it’s not. Sometimes age regressing is extreme feelings, it’s hitting your head and screaming in pain and laying on the floor and kicking and wanting it to stop. Sometimes it’s shaking in anxiety, biting your hands and stimming uncomfortably. Sometimes theres no comfort, sometimes the triggers are not good, and that’s fine too. Age regressing does not mean pure state, it means a much younger one. Just that. It can be violent and ugly too
steve rogers would be the sweetest caregiver with an autistic little 🥺 he’s the type to have a detailed list of your safe foods, and a log of all the new foods you’ve tried together + how they were prepared + how the you felt about them. he’s happy to make a separate dinner for you if he wants to eat something you can’t tolerate. he’ll always encourage trying new flavors and textures, but you’re always allowed to spit it out if it’s yucky and there’s always a backup safe meal available.
he also keeps snacks in his utility belt! those little pockets are perfect for extra bags of goldfish or fruit gummies, especially when he asks tony to help him upgrade his suit with hidden compartments. he’s also carrying earplugs, fidget toys, band-aids, mint gum (it’s great for sensory overload!), and of course any medicine you might need to have with you. ever the boy scout, he’s always prepared for anything, especially when it’s you he’s taking care of.
meltdowns and panic attacks are met with 100% gentleness. there is not a world where steve rogers is frustrated or annoyed at you for experiencing something so out of your control. he’s the first to clock what’s triggering you, whether it be an overwhelming sensory input or just a moment of emotional disregulation, and he either makes things quieter or distracts you until you can breathe again. he never makes you feel ashamed about physical or vocal stimming. if you’re comfortable with touch, he gives the best deep-pressure hugs that make you fall asleep half the time. and he always, always cleans you up with warm towels and makes you lay down afterwards.
when you’re regressing, whether it be in the context of post-meltdown or just to decompress, he’s the best caregiver you could ask for. he has toys and supplies for whatever age you’ve regressed to, and if he doesn’t have something? there’s no limit to what captain america would do for his baby ❤️
Sometimes getting out of bed isn't an option for some. Personally, I have bad flare days where all I can do is sit in my recliner or lay in bed and do something low activity. But sitting in bed can be boring! And too much screen time isn't super healthy for the brain. So I made a list of activities on both sides that my little loves can do from bed! There's probably a ton more out there too!
To all of my bedbound or partially bedbound littles 🥰 I see you, I love you, I am you, I get it, we will get through this.
📒 Journaling has been said a thousand times, but thats because it's so very versatile! You can doodle, you can make sheets for your stuffies, you can write about your day, or make up stories that you think are fun!
🧶 Crochet and knitting are noooot "old lady" hobbies, okay! They are fun! And keep both your mind and hands busy with a repetitive task.
🎥 obviously you have your choice of movies and shows you can watch !
🖼️ scrapbooking really is a dying art I fear, it can be so much fun and a great way to take care of your pictures and memories !
📚 reading is an awesome way to "watch a movie" in your head without having to look at a screen all day! Ah I love reading so much, it likes a fantasy escape!
🏐 There are a ton of videos on YouTube of low impact, bed based exercises! This is oooonly if you know it will not further hurt you or make you more sick, but it can help preserve your muscles and tendons while you're stuck in bed!
🧳 Virtually travel! Google maps can take you all around the world and you can "walk" through beautiful places online!
💻 Play old kids websites! PBS kids and girlsgogame and coolmathgames! There's tons of free kiddos sites available!
🌎 Learn a new language! You've got plenty of time to study, and its useful! Plus, doing your colors and numbers in another language can make you feel really small! Like you're learning for the first time again!
☄️ NASA has a live stream you can watch. It is from space. It is so cool and absolutely breathtaking and surprisingly calming.
🧩 Use a poster board or something similar to have a flat surface (this works for any of these but:) because puzzles are so fun when you get into them! Make it a competition with yourself. How many can your right vs left hand find, turn on some music and make a pretty picture!
🖱️ Join spaces online. Seriously. Talk to people. Share your experiences and listen to others experiences. Broaden your mind and make friends all over the world, your phone can do that and I think that's so cool!
🖍️ Adult coloring books can take hoooours to complete! They are an awesome time filler! I love to do this while watching a good show so I don't have to look at the screen but I can hear it
🖊️ Crosswords or sudoku are also really stimulating, and if you can't get your hands on a book of em, they make a lot of free apps!
🥤 Most importantly, make sure you are getting plenty of water and snacks. You might be stuck in bed, but you will still get dehydrated. You will still burn calories and your body has to eat. 🫶🏻 Take care of yourself, kiddos! You deserve the love.
using your stuffies to hype yourself up before doing a big task .
getting things done because your favourite character would want you to .
reward charts for self care .
but it can also look like . . .
eating small , child - portioned meals just so you'll eat something .
crying all the time because the feelings are too much .
being constantly overstimulated because of how sensitive your little mind is .
mourning the childhood that was taken away from you .
and that's okay .
healing isn't linear . it will take time to feel better . your best is good enough , even if it doesn't look like much . you're doing great , i promise . <3
hello ! i am awfully sorry to bother you, but i must ask- do you know any ways to coax a little into regressing ?
i have been trying to regress for days as i have been dreadfully sick, and i keep... failing? failing is a rather harsh word. i continue to be unsuccessful. however ive been getting more and more fussy and am rather at my whits end
(please excuse how i speak, i can be dreadfully formal ^^')
-🔔(is that taken..? or may i use that?)
The bell is not taken and you can absolutely use it as your anon sweetheart!
I really hate when I'm "regression blocked" (get it.. kinda like writers block but for agere xD) but the best advice I can give is from my personal experience!
When I wanna go little and I'm finding it really difficult, I go through the steps to make myself feel safe. Sometimes my fight or flight just doesn't turn off the way I want it to. So I take a warm shower, put on my comfiest pajamas, fluffy socks and a big hoodie usually, and get into my safe place. For me, that's my bed! I call it my nest because I have so many blankets and pillows and stuffies all wrapped around me !
Putting on your favorite movie or tv show. This doesn't have to be little related, I mean personally lately I've been regressing every night before bed with Orange is the New Black ! Whatever show makes YOU feel little, even if it's not aesthetic.
Got any little snacks? Goldfish or cheezits or jelly beans or whatever else you could've eaten as a real kiddo, can help you feel even smaller now!
Usually I do all of this at the same time and it's enough to help me slip into my safe place 💕 I really hope something in here helps
Trying to be a grown up at work is really hard. It's very loud here and not nice. And too many big lights and projects. I dunno what to do. I'm so tired. I wish I had a caregiver but I feel bad about it
