Dealing with some massive health issues, but still trying to find time to work on things when and how I can.

Airbrushed the other night, then moved on to some more detailing work in the past couple of nights. Loving how these 3 are turning out so far!

This is actually an older one I did— 2024— as a gift for a friend for Christmas that year. I painted 7 individual models and sent them out to all of my friends, and it was Quite the array of nonsense.

And I’m also proud of the pun, which is automatically funny.

Okay I fixed a few things and reuploaded it o.O

whew. final for this panel is started and coming along very well!

Notes and timelapse below the cut

I always try to preserve my original sketches— so the top one is the original, middle is where i traced it on my lightpad (not the prettiest, but informative) to then transfer THAT onto the final. Reason being for that is that the watercolor paper is too thick to shine the lightpad through, and in order to transfer the sketch I have to scribble on the back and then redraw over top. And that kinda ruins the sketch. And I like my sketches! Plus I refer back to them quite often while working. So preservation is 100% necessary and well worth the extra step.

Still a ways to go on the final— need to go back over all the blacks some more to make sure they’re solid. Then on to details on Shads! Going black and grey on her minus throwing some color into her healing spell.

working on a thing

Hope to have this done for BLCC NOVA in May but we’ll see! 😂

If anyone has a suggestion for an item to throw in for Gale, Lae’zel, and Wyll, I’m all ears 😂 I’ve got everyone else figured out but those 3.

I will be at this con in May! First time doing a convention, I’m so excited! And it’s insane seeing my (studio) name up on a con site too!!!

Ahhhh nothing terribly polished to share from tonight

I fixed my Shadowheart sketch (right) and started working out how I want to toss Lae’zel into my other piece.

For Shadowheart, I need to print and sketch by hand I think. I’m better at sketching analog than I am digital, but maybe I’ll just toss it back over to my laptop and hop into painting idk yet it might be fine?

I also ordered Savior Shadowheart stickers (of the final version of the left sketch ^) and those should be here soon-ish :D they’re for a con— I needed some Shadowheart merch for my first artist alley

I’m always nervous sharing the crappy little sketches I do, even with my friends, because of the massive amount of work it takes to bring those to life. A very ‘trust me bro it’ll be so cool once it’s done.’

2/3 ‘panels’ cleaned up mostly I cannot draw hands when I’m tried lmfao

Still figuring out final medium. Pen and ink inclusion for sure. Might throw some color in here— Rhian’s very colorful, so it’s fitting. We’ll see. I’ll scan in my sketches and play around with it.

It’s fun how much back and forth I’ve started doing with analog and digital. Initial sketch > analog. Digital photo references/sketching/tracing. Then printed those. Then redrew everything analog. Only to digitize those sketches to play around with color. And then do the final… analog. Wheeeee!

Forced myself to do a page of hand studies as punishment for not being to draw Shadowheart’s right hand. That’s half a joke.

And got distracted partway through doodling Rhian and Shads whoops.

I seriously need to snap a couple of reference photos for a few things but just didn’t feel like doing that… Tomorrow’s problem!
