The Dollhouse AU: Concept dump
Okay, hear me out at first I just wanted to make Fan outfits for the boys but then I started to go down the rabbit hole that were the AUs made with them and really wanted to make one as well so here we are I am humbly offering this thing I made to this ever growing cult Fandom now.
This is very self indulgent because the obvious reasons aside it also takes place in the world of a story I have in development because I just thought it would be fun. I'm gonna try to keep this info dump short, I am planning to make more detailed post on all that later, because some things probably need explaining.
So to sum it up in this world magic is a thing but the most humans can do with it is create things or even life. The beings brought into the world this way are called dolls they are made entirely out of magic from their bodies to their clothes and that nifty little gem you see the boys holding is usually supposed to be inside of them as it pumps magic through their bodies but as long as it is close to and only out of the body for a short time everything is peachy. Due to their close connection to magic, unlike humans, Dolls can utilize magic to a greater extent and actually develop certain spells.
Now onto the name sake for this AU, a dollhouse is a broad term used to describe any facility that tends to dolls in some way whether that would be actually making them from start to finish, repairing and maintaining them or just selling clothes and accessories. The Dollhouse these three belong to is the first example but it's main form of income actually comes from selling toys. There are also dollmakers though like a dollhouse it's a term used to describe someone working with dolls in any capacity.
Now that this is out of the way let's move on to the stars of this show!
Sun works during the day of course, he walks around the store interacting with costumers, he loves helping children pick out their toys at the store and is just generally very social and easy to approach but he'll often do the approaching for people. His enthusiasm is contagious as he goes around giving every thing his all even if it is just a small task but his inner jester is sure to come out as he puts on a silly little show for the people around him whenever he trips and falls as he didn't look where he was stepping from excitement. Please don't bring it up.
For Suns spell I took inspiration from his candy in game, I call it "Sugar rush" Sun can transfer his magic into things, the effects it has depend on what he transfer it into for example he could make a plant grow faster or when using it on someone who is tired or hurt help them heal faster or give them a rush of energy.
Moon takes over during the night, he usually just cleans up the store as there aren't many people coming in once the sun sets but he always ensures every shelf is filled for when the little ones return. He is far less social than his sunny counterpart but bother him enough and you'll eventually grow on him but the way he shows that might be his revenge as he enjoys messing with people a lot. From teasing to mostly harmless pranks it's all meant to be in good fun of course. While blunt and having some violent tendencies towards intruders he has his sweet moments being the best option if you just want a person to vent to.
Taking inspiration from his candy I dub thee power "Devour". Moon can suck magic or energy from people or other things to strengthen himself and it will usually make the affected feel very sleepy, I'm still deciding if he should be in physical contact to do that or instead whenever using his power his eyes will glow and get spirals in them and he has to maintain eye contact.
Eclipse is in charge of security and usually just comes out when an intruder shows up but he also sometimes hangs around the store during sunrise or sunset and has a reputation as a cryptid among newer costumers, which he is rather proud of. While sun and moon are two sides on the spectrum eclipse is everything in between balancing them out nicely. He is the responsible older brother but will definitely turn a blind eye or even join the fun if someone is causing mischief if he finds it amusing. Just know if you're caught he'll either ditch you or pick you up and run, it's a 50/50 chance.
Not really sure what to do with him when it comes to his spell yet, he is already arguably a lot stronger than both sun and moon so I'm not sure if he would even need it but for the sake of fun I still want to give him one one day.
You are a new addition to the dollhouse in the form of becoming a student to the owner to become a dollmaker yourself one day. The job at the store comes ontop because you got bills to pay my dear. I'm still deciding how you first met the three brothers, my first idea was you just found them damaged on the street and after showing an act of kindness in fixing them up as best as you can they just followed you home like a stray cat, after mentioning it like once your teacher let them stay at the dollhouse without any questions asked.
The second option is the opposite, they work there already and after one meeting after the other you eventually confess you want to speak with the owner in hopes he would make you his student but looks like he is always busy. After a week of being annoyingly insistent nicely asking you got the position. Doesn't matter how you got this job shenanigans ensue from there regardless.
A close up of this little thing in Y/Ns design, if you want to draw yourself or just a character then just swap the letters underneath the A with the first letter of your or their name. Costumize the uniform how you want as well!
