Lilia Facts Part 41: Lilia's Age (pt2)

Lilia tells Ruggie that he saw the National Art Museum from the Platinum Jacket series when it was still being built and Ruggie says, “Lilia-san will sometimes tell the most obvious lies.”

Leona also comments on Lilia’s outdated description of how his hometown used to look, wondering at how long ago, exactly, it was that he visited.

Lilia and Malleus seem to be the only two characters familiar with the history of the Watchman of the Island of Woe, with Lilia giving a detailed explanation of the family behind it and the founding of STYX and referring to events of a century ago as “a rather recent development.”

Lilia says that he has forgotten his birthdate and January 1st was just something he filled in on his enrollment paperwork for NRC.

In his dream Lilia says he has been putting up with Maleanor for “some 300-odd years now,” and he is “barely 300” at the time, so it is possible that he was taken in by Maleficia Draconia as an infant and never knew his true birthdate in the first place.

Lilia comments on retiring as early as Beanfest, but we get our first, major hint about what is going on behind the scenes in Book 6 when he comments that it may be the last time he ever witnesses a certain star formation. 

Lilia tells Sebek and Silver directly that he will not be in good health forever, and “I hope you'll both become independent soon and put my old heart at ease.”

Lilia tries to explain human mortality to Malleus with, “Human lives are as ethereal as silk thread on a spinning wheel-and just as easily cut short,” which seems to resonate with him.

During Wish Upon a Star Silver says that he is not sure of Lilia’s actual age because Lilia will always dodge the question when asked, but Silver seems to have known that he is approximately 700.

A Personalized Hell

Back to my obsession with Crowley-is-Raverne-theory book 7 dream NSJXJF,,,what if he was too self-aware of the nature of the dreams. That this landscape preyed on the idea of “what could’ve been.” I imagine it’s rather painful to know the dreamworld was false from the very, very beginning

💦 I feel a little embarrassed trying to explain SCNJCJF, but I tried my best to make the drawing look unnatural by using the “dutch angle” that is seen a lot in unsettling scenes in film. Crowley’s hair moves with the angle, but Lilia and Meleanor’s hair remains still and unaffected by the camera angle. I hope that makes sense 💦💦

I was in the mood to give Lilia a different outfit. Maybe he has retired in this dream, still living in Wild Rose Castle but has a slightly more peaceful lifestyle. Slightly 💦

My take on Leona dream, slight spoilers under

I don’t think Leona actually wants his brother and Cheka dead. I think it’s a case of Malleus taking Leona’s intrusive thoughts and morbid thinking and actualizing it.

I think most people, at some point, thought about not wanting someone in their life. Even if it’s intrusively. Anyone who as siblings probably thought at one point for their siblings to disappear from their life but then the next day your best friends again 😭

I feel like Leona’s dream is similar to Jamil’s. The same what if scenario about someone you have a complex relationship with but not actually wanting that to happen. I think it’s more of Malleus taking a black and white interpretation of people’s thoughts and feelings and not really taking in consideration of the nuances them.

And maybe Malleus own biases seeping in. Like I don’t think he has a good understanding of Leona and Jamil as people so I’d imagine Malleus would take any suppressed feelings and take it at face value because that dream makes them “happy” but fails to understand that won’t create real “joy”?If that makes sense?

I’m crying so bad, I’m RUINED that Ruggie’s dream has his father come back, not only that but with a fortune 😭😭😭 That when he comes back from school everyday, his father is there waiting for him at home!!! And Ruggie buys crepes and snacks for him and Grandma and IM-

It’s so interesting…Ruggie’s mother died in labor, and he seems rather accepting that she’s joined the stars now. But his father? He just didn’t come back one day. And the way he dreams that there’s a possibility that his father came back for him, to support him, to be alive and there for him 😭😭😭 Like who knows- Ruggie’s father could have been murdered, or just left to get the milk, but.

Like Ruggie dreams of the possibility of “what if my father loved me so much that he came back for me”

It’s not the dream of “his father never left his side, and raised him since the beginning ”

It’s that he came back

But it was all just a dream- the money is fake, he and all the children, adults, and elders in his hometown are still going hungry. His grandma doesn’t have the nice things he wishes she could have. And when he comes home, his father won’t be there waiting for him, telling Ruggie just how much he loves him.

twst anime news!! (finally, lol)

The Twisted Wonderland anime is confirmed to be an adaptation of the main story!! The animation will be handled by Yumeta Company x Graphinicia and can be streamed on Disney+ (unsure if globally, but definitely in JP).

Seasons 1-3 have been greenlit. The first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, airs in October of 2025!! 🌹

Seasons 2 and 3 are dedicated to Savanaclaw and Octavinelle, respectively. No dates have been announced for those yet.

UPDATE: According to this tweet from Yana, it sounds like the anime will be an adaptation of the comics/manga.
