new year's day. colorful fireworks lit up the sky as everyone in the survey corps gathered around the courtyard to watch - everyone except one.
you took notice of the absence of a certain captain. someone you knew deserved to celebrate the beginning of a brand new year more than anyone. levi has been through a lot, lost a lot of people, and yet he was still here - fighting and alive.
abandoning the fireworks display, you made your way back inside the headquarters building and to levi's office where you knocked softly on the door before pushing it open.
"levi?" you called out softly, seeing him sitting behind his desk as he continued to do his paperworks even if erwin gave everyone the week off to enjoy the holiday festivities.
sighing softly, you closed the door behind you to muffle out the explosions caused by the fireworks outside. you crossed the room and looked at him as he continued to scribble on the paper in front of him.
"why are you in here, my love? you should be celebrating the new year with us" you said, gently grabbing his hand and pulling it away from the paper it wrote on. levi sighed deeply, looking down as he refused to make eye contact with you.
"i don't deserve to celebrate the new year" levi said as you frowned, immediately knowing what he meant and knelt down in front of him to meet his eyes.
"you deserve to celebrate it as much as everyone does, levi. you've been through a lot this year, yes, but that doesn't mean you need to be punished for everything that happened. a new year means a new beginning, a new start. the comrades we lost, their lives and their sacrifices would mean nothing if we continue to wallow in their loss. a new year means that we get the chance to do better, to make sure that their sacrifices mean something" you said as levi looked up and his eyes met yours.
"you deserve this new start, my love. sometimes, we need to take a step back and reset to finish the task better" you said, cupping his cheek as he leaned into your touch.
levi remained quiet but from how he reacted, you could tell that your words hit deep within him.
"so what do you say? let's go to the rooftop and watch the fireworks display?" you grinned after a few minutes of silence. levi clicked his tongue but chuckled and nodded.
he quickly put away the paperworks he was working on before grabbing your hand and leading you to the rooftop. he wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you closer as fireworks painted the night sky.
levi who doesn’t know how to play uno but still plays with the cadets and y/n and they change the rules on him every time just to see him get angry when he loses for the fifth time in a row.
“levi, my love” you sang, skipping into levi’s office as he looked up at you from the paperworks on his desk.
“yeah, brat?” levi answered, putting his pen down to give you his undivided attention but you stayed silent in reply.
you crossed the room, rounding his desk before turning his chair a bit to face you. levi suddenly grew nervous upon seeing your demeanor change from goofy and playful to completely serious and unwavering.
you slowly leaned in, maintaining the eye contact and reached over to cup his cheek. levi’s breathing started getting shallow as he looked back and forth at your eyes in attempt to read you but you showed no signs on what kind of ministrations you had planned.
“shh” you whispered, effortlessly catching up on his attempts at reading you and swiped your thumb across his bottom lip. his breath got caught in his throat as you chuckled before briefly connecting your lips with his, making sure to gently bite on his bottom lip as you pulled away from the kiss.
you smiled innocently at him and you stood up straight to leave but before you could leave, levi suddenly grabbed you by the neck and pulled you in for another kiss as you gasped in surprise.
“don’t fucking play games with me, y/n. finish what you started”
retreating back to your shared bedroom after a long day, you sighed in relief upon opening the door to levi's office. you were about to relax when a small arachnid crawling on the floor caught your attention.
"spider!" you screamed, jumping into levi's arms. the poor captain was caught off guard but caught you nevertheless. he was about to ask you what was wrong but he followed your gaze, seeing the spider that decided to take residence on his office floor.
"spider!" levi screamed, equally scared as you were and running out of the room with you in his arms. in the end, levi had to call jean, who called eren, who called armin, who called mikasa to get the spider out of the room.

- burdens -
even the strongest people need to be vulnerable from time to time. the calm and unbreakable exterior most of them hold on the verge of shattering to a million pieces, one single thing can push them over the edge.
levi was no exception. having the title of humanity's strongest soldier was more of a burden than an honor. people looked up to him for strength when everything is on the verge of falling apart. but, who does he look up to when he is on the verge of falling apart?
growing up, levi was never given the chance to show weakness. being born and raised in the underground city where having your guard up all the time is the number one basis of survival.
it didn't change when he got to the surface. it was a responsibility for him at that point to always remain strong for the people around him. like mentioned before, the title of humanity's strongest soldier was more of a burden than an honor.
just like everyone else, you also looked up to levi. you admired him for his strength, his unbreakable mask of stoicism, his ability to remain calm even when the situation is being held together by a single thread.
there had been times where you wondered if he was capable of feeling emotions, if he was capable of being weak and vulnerable, if he was capable of being human. you knew he was but you didn't know if he trusted you enough to let you see them.
over the course of a few years, levi has started to open up himself to you - even went far as getting into a relationship with you. he trusted you the most out of everyone in the survey corps but even though you were together, even you have never seen him vulnerable.
walking down the empty halls of the survey corps, you made your way back to levi's office. you were struggling to fall asleep just a few hours prior and decided to do some late night training to get yourself tired.
softly yawning, you were already half asleep when a soft whimper suddenly reached your ears. you stopped in your tracks, high on alert and wide awake as you listened in for the sound.
after a few seconds, you found out that the whimpers were coming behind the closed doors of levi's office.
you froze. you have never seen him show weakness before and you weren't sure whether or not he wants you to see him weak. but your instincts to protect him were kicking in.
meanwhile, on the other side of the door was levi on the verge of having a panic attack. it creeps up on him at the most unexpected of times, and the reason behind his attacks were unknown to him most of the time.
his eyes shut close, trying to calm himself down by taking deep breaths. all that comes out of him were strained whimpers as his body shook uncontrollably.
he willed his attack to not creep up on him, especially not when you could walk inside his office at any given minute. levi trusted you, he trusts you enough to see him weak and vulnerable. but he wasn't sure if you'd look at him the same way if you ever saw him like that, especially when he knew that you looked up to him as much as the rest of the survey corps did.
"levi?" your voice reached his ears as his eyes opened, darting to the closed doors to his office. he debated on letting you in or not - no one has ever seen him weak. no one.
but at the same time, he felt like he was going to die.
levi trusts you. but he wasn't sure if you'd look at him the same way if you ever saw him like that, especially when he knew that you looked up to him as much as the rest of the survey corps did.
but at that moment, due to the intensity of his attack, the only thing he could think about was you. to have you next to him.
"y/n" levi choked out, almost a plea as you immediately pushed open the door. you urgently walked inside his office, making sure to close the door behind you to give the both of you some privacy.
“levi” you breathed, crossing the room and made your way to his desk. he was holding his head in his hands, his body was visibly shaking from what you could tell was a panic attack.
"can i- can i hold you, levi?" you asked, carefully reaching out a hand to give him the option to refuse. relief. relief was all levi felt when you asked him that question.
he didn't hesitate on nodding, even turning his chair to crash himself in your arms as you held him tightly against you. you ran your hand through his hair, quietly assuring him to calm him from his attack.
"i've got you. i've got you, my love. shh" you whispered as a sob broke from levi's lips and he buried his face in the crook of your neck. you teared up from the sound but you willed yourself to stay strong.
"i-i-i'm s-sorry" levi choked out, trying to pull away from you but you held him firm. he was sorry because you saw him weak, you saw him vulnerable, you saw the side of him that he swore no one should ever see.
he was sorry for being human. he didn't need to voice it out but you understood.
"hey, shh. don't apologize, it's alright, levi. you've been strong for way too long, my love. you're bound to break at some point and that's alright, you're human after all. you need to have someone to lean on for support too and that's alright. it's alright, levi" you assured, running your hand down his back soothingly as another sob broke through levi's lips. he felt his body relax in your touch, your words being all that he needs to hear. all that he needed was you.
the both of you stayed in silence for a while, just you holding him while his panic attack subsided. it took a while but you were willing to sit there and hold him until the sun rises the next day if that's what it took.
after a while, levi pulled away from you as you looked at him. you wiped away the tears that stained his cheeks and cupped his face in your hands. he immediately melted into your touch, turning his head to place a kiss on your palm.
"thank you" levi said as you smiled softly at him, planting a tender kiss on his forehead. you didn't need to hear him voice it, you understood that he was thanking you for letting him be vulnerable, for letting him feel emotions, for giving him a safe space to be human and to lay down his burdens for once.
people looked up to him for strength when everything is on the verge of falling apart. and levi look up to you when he is on the verge of falling apart.

all commission requests and payments will only be made through ko-fi. prices range from £5-£25 :)
every commissioned work is personalized and will be written about one (1) aot character and with personal names or original character of your choice and their characteristics.
each work can be written with different aot characters. (ie. drabble - eren and oc, long fanfiction - levi and oc)
an additional £2 will be charged for every main character added. (ie. levi, erwin, hange, and oc. eren, mikasa, armin, and oc)
an additional £2 will be charged for up to two (2) specific requests. (ie. a quote/prompt you want to be said, a specific plot you want followed, etc.)
all final payments will be charged in British Pounds (GBP). conversion rate may be applicable if paying in another currency.
final works will be delivered within 3-7 business days. please understand that i am a full time student and that i have personal responsibilities as well :)
every work will be copyrighted. it is strictly for your own personal use and cannot be posted to your personal blog, page, or account. (ie. tumblr, wattpad, ao3, etc.)
in accordance to the Data Privacy Law, all information given (personal, characters and their descriptions) will strictly remain confidential.
been thinking about starting commissions for personal works/requests — oneshots or full on story with chapters for a while now but i’m not sure if anyone would be interested😅

a little update, i’m STRUGGLING to write about anything that has to do with fluff and just romance in general.
this depression has left me feeling numb, and by that, i mean like i don’t feel anything from happy and sad, not even anger or upset — my emotions are simply empty and non-existent. i can laugh but i don’t feel happy, i can cry but i don’t feel sad.
with that being said, i don’t feel the ‘l’ word either. whether that be towards the people closest to me or towards levi. and i don’t think i can write him or stories the way that will satisfy me as a writer and satisfying you guys as readers if i’m not feeling that feeling.
although i am doing better mentally, compared to how i was a month ago, the emotional part of me is probably going to take a bit more time to get better.

how did everything go so wrong? everything was fine, killing people left, right, and center to survive. everything was fine until his gear malfunctioned and you just had to save him.
but that also went wrong.
your heart dropped to your stomach as one of the marleyan soldiers shot at levi while he fell from having his gear malfunctioning. his pained groan reaching your ears as your instincts immediately kicked in to save him.
“levi!” you screamed, rushing after him as tears started to fall down your cheeks.
“die, you devil!” the same marleyan soldier yelled as everything slowed down. you looked at him to see that his gun was pointed towards you before looking forward to see your husband falling from the gunshot wound on his abdomen.
you loosed a breath, feeling the bullet enter your side and leave through your back — creating a clean entrance and exit wound. your eyes caught levi’s as your body went numb, also sending you into a freefall.
levi fell on the floor with a thud, you following shortly after. the battlefield around you faded away as he started crawling towards you.
“y/n” levi choked out once he reached you, coughing as he rested your head on his chest and you kept your hand weakly fisted around his cloak.
levi groaned slightly from the movement of his arm wrapping around your waist. you were both bleeding out and deep down, both of you knew that you weren’t going to make it.
no other words needed to be said as you nuzzled your head into his chest, breathing heavily from the immense pain on your side.
“i’m glad it’s you that i lie with” levi choked out as you smiled weakly in understanding.
“i’ll see you there” you whispered as levi smiled sadly at you, you shifted a bit and caught his lips in yours. you laid there, laying in each other’s arms, and sharing one last tender kiss.
levi closed his eyes, breathing unevenly as you followed shortly after. then at the same time, you both stopped breathing.
the members of the survey corps continued to fight for their freedom against marley. unbeknownst to them, just below where they used their anti personel odm gear was where they lost their two most respected comrades.
on the floor was where levi ackerman and y/n ackerman laid, wrapped in each other’s arms and protecting each other until the very end.

hi anon! still very much here, alive. been doing a lot of healing the past month and half so i haven’t been writing as much but thank you so much!
sometimes i think i write levi in a way that it’s almost out of character for him but at the same time, we never really saw his soft side that much in the anime/manga so i could only write what i think he’d be like if we ever saw him be soft towards someone. and i’m glad that i can somehow put that image in my head through words cause i’d be selfish if i don’t give you guys a dose of the soft levi i can picture in my head. does that make sense? i hope it does lol.
but anyway, proof of life and i’ll be back as soon as i can.
ever since you became a teenager, you've always worn a purity ring on your finger with the promise that you would only take it off when you find the right one - the right person to give yourself to, entirely.
you and levi had been dating for a few years now and since the first day you met, you knew that he was the one you would give yourself to entirely. after years of waiting, levi took your virginity on your birthday - hence, the purity ring was also taken off of your finger.
later that night, you were out with friends in a club to celebrate your birthday. levi closely watched you dance on the dance floor with your friends from the bar, lightly tapping his finger to the beat of the music on the glass of alcohol he was holding when someone around his age sat down next to him.
"a glass of whiskey" he said to the bartender before turning to levi who was sat next to him. he followed his line of sight, an amused smile pulling at the corner of his lips when he saw that he was looking at you.
"gorgeous girl, isn't she? look at how hot she is, man. i wonder if anyone has touched her, if you know what i mean" the man said with a chuckle, drinking from his glass as levi glanced at him but said nothing. although he knew that he was talking about you.
"she's not your girl, is she? i mean, i assume that she isn't since you have an engagement ring around your neck and i want to make a move on her" the man said, pointing to the ring that levi had on a chain around his neck as he looked down at it and grunted in reply.
"it's not an engagement ring" levi replied, putting his glass down on the counter when he saw you waving him over as he stood up and the man hummed in reply.
"what is it then?" the man asked with amusement lacing his voice as levi turned to him, a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips.
"her purity ring" levi answered, smirking smugly at him before excusing himself and leaving the man in shock and at loss for words at the bar.
“go get some proper rest, levi. you’ve been awake for almost a week now” erwin said, walking into the room and handing the raven haired captain another cup of tea before taking a seat.
“i’m not resting. not until y/n wakes up” levi said, drawing circles on the back of your hand as he took a sip of his tea. erwin could only sigh, knowing that there was nothing he could do to make him take that much needed proper rest.
you laid unconscious on the bed, the only indication that you were still alive was the constant beeping of the heart monitor next to the bed. you had bandages wrapped around your middle and around your head. what happened was something that couldn’t be avoided, especially since you were a scout but levi blamed himself for it even when it wasn’t his fault in any way.
for the next few months you were in a coma, levi stayed by your side — only leaving when necessary and if he was urgently needed, he even took time off from expeditions to make sure he was there when you woke up. he just wanted you to wake up and for everything to be alright again.
levi was jolted awake to the feeling of your hand moving from under his, a smile made its way onto his face as he waited for you to open your eyes. he held his breath, waiting patiently for you like he had been for the past few months. except, what came next broke his heart. in your eyes was nothing but fear and confusion as it darted back and forth at him uncomfortably.
“y/n? brat?” levi started slowly, holding his breath even more as he hoped that what he was thinking didn’t just come true.
laying on the open field, the clear sky above you as a bittersweet smile played on your face. the fabric of your wedding dress slightly getting rustled around by the wind as you unconsciously played with the ring that sat on your left ring finger.
“y/n, there you are! we’ve been looking everywhere for you. it’s almost time for the ceremony-” your friend’s voice reached your ears as she made their way towards you.
“i don’t think i’ll ever get married” you cut her off, not prying your gaze away from the sky above. your friend furrowed her eyebrows at you, walking closer until she was hovering above your face. you let out a half hearted chuckle, crossing your hands before closing your eyes.
“y/n! get out of there!” you heard levi’s voice yell from outside of the building as you turned around, making eye contact with him and everything went in slow motion.
“y/n!” levi yelled, rushing over to you as the building you were in collapsed. you could only look at him as he rushed towards you, fear making you freeze in place before everything went black.
“y/n! y/n, brat, can you hear- can you hear me?”
your eyes fluttered open as the sharp pain on your leg immediately made its presence known. you hissed in pain, looking up to see levi hovering above you. his hands were planted on either side of your head as an obvious struggle was written on his face.
“levi? what happened?” you asked, trying to assess the situation but it only left you in a state of confusion.
“the building collapsed, a metal bar impaled you on the thigh so don’t move too much” levi said, looking down at you as you finally realized what was happening.
the rubble that came from the collapsed building fell on top of you. levi rushed to you quickly enough to put himself in between you and the rubble to stop it from crushing you.
“levi! y/n! can you guys hear me?” erwin’s voice suddenly echoed from somewhere as you looked up to see that there was a gap in between the rubble. a head of blonde hair peeked as erwin appeared in your line of sight.
“are you both alright?” erwin asked, a worried tone in his voice as he tried to assess the both of you for injuries as best as he could.
“y/n needs medical attention, there’s a bar impaling her leg and she’s losing blood” levi said as erwin replied with a nod.
“what about you?” erwin asked as levi was quiet for a second, he looked down at you. you immediately saw the sadness and fear in his eyes and it terrified you.
“i’m okay. just find a way to get y/n out” levi said as he strained to lift the massive concrete on his back, his arms were starting to shake from the heavy weight but he pushed through.
it was taking every fiber of his being to prevent the concrete from crushing you. you wanted to help but the throbbing pain on your leg physically stopped you from doing so.
“grab onto me, we’ll try to pull you out” erwin said, sticking his hand in for you to reach as you looked at it before looking back at levi.
“go. i can hold it up for a bit longer” levi said, his voice was calm but his eyes silently begging you to just grab erwin’s hand so you could be pulled to safety.
“but what about you? you’ll get crushed, levi” you reasoned, looking up at him with nothing but fear in your eyes — not for you but for him.
“i’ll get out. just go, i need to know you made it out alright” levi said as you shook your head at him, tears falling down your cheeks.
“i’m not leaving you. i’m not leaving until i know you’ll make it out of here alright too” you said as levi closed his eyes for a second and sighed deeply.
“y/n-” levi started but the concrete above him suddenly shifted as his eyes widened.
“erwin! grab her!” levi yelled as you were yanked out from under the rubble by a strong hand before you could even process what had happened.
a loud thud echoed behind you as your eyes widened and you turned around.
“i’m in love with someone else. although we never got to say our vows, i know that i was always destined to be with him” you said, looking up at the sky as the first of many tears fell down your cheeks.
“i don’t think i’ll ever get married because i know that my heart will never love someone the way i loved him”
levi ackerman died that day, and the piece of your heart and soul died along with him.
levi is very observative, he can sense the smallest of changes when it comes to you, he can sense your mood changes in a heartbeat and knows when you’re uncomfortable in a blink of an eye so the unusual behavior you showed before going to bed did not go unnoticed by your husband.
you were fast asleep while levi laid awake next to you. he too was tired but he couldn’t bring himself to sleep, knowing that there was something going on with you. your mind was everything but peaceful, the million voices in your head were all talking together, the negative thoughts, the nightmares — it was all overwhelming.
you started thrashing around, face contorting into discomfort as small whimpers left your lips. levi was immediately alerted by this, placing his hand on your arm and gently caressing your skin.
“i’m here. shh, shh” levi whispered and as if your body unconsciously sensed his presence, your mind just shut down. the voices disappeared, the negative thoughts vanished, the nightmares went away — you were suddenly at peace.
levi laid his head on your arm, silently letting you know that he was always there by your side.
